Seeing how the silly couple who had spited him and talked down on him a moment ago was now praising him, Gabriel understood why. He decided to set the record straight.

"Just to clarify," Gabriel began with a calm smile, "I know the manager, but we don’t have a close relationship. He just respects his customers."

Kiara and Francis visibly relaxed, the relief washing over their faces. They assumed that Gabriel had no significant background after all.

"Oh, I see," Kiara said, her demeanor shifting like a chameleon. She started throwing light jabs at Gabriel again, her tone once more condescending. "Well, it's good to have connections, even if they're not very deep."

Francis's attitude changed as well, though his interest in Camella only grew. He subtly flirted with her, finding her extremely gorgeous, while making sure Kiara didn't catch on. "Camella, you must be the reason Gabriel manages to stay so composed," Francis said with a charming smile. "You have a certain elegance about you."
