As Gabriel tossed Vincent to the ground and pointed the gun at him, Vincent clasped his hands together, desperation evident in his voice.

"I swear by my late mother, I don't know what you're talking about. I didn't take your daughter."

Gabriel's face twisted into a grimace. "You're lying to me?"

Vincent crawled closer, his eyes shimmering with sincerity. "Believe me, I don't have your daughter."

"Then why were you running away from me?"

"I was scared. I thought you wanted to kill me."
