THE next morning, Hamriel was already on the Four Seasons Isle—the floating island battlefield—before Jie could open his eyes. He slept under the tree, and he survived the night because Weakling kept checking on him, bringing him food, and giving him proper clothing since the night had become freezing. Jie had never regretted his decision to refuse to return to the ice castle.

“Good thing that you’re still alive.” Hamriel studied his horrible condition. “Why do you still refuse to stay inside the castle? It’ll offer the best comfort your body needs.”

“No way! I’d rather stay here than be closer to you. Who knows what you’d do when I’m asleep?"

Hamriel chuckled with his answers. “I can kill you anytime I want, Ethros. Do you think I don’t know that Weakling is helping you in secret? Poor child, so fascinated by a human like you.”

“When I go out of this cursed place, I’ll take Weakling with me.” Jie suddenly decided this because the more he conversed with the child, the more he learned

JIE was so ecstatic that he was able to summon the fire for the first time. He did it repeatedly until he was out of strength. He was so focused on his newfound skill that he failed to notice that the shackle curse in his neck became fainter than usual. “Amazing! I didn’t know I was capable of this. I heard it was rare to wield the magic of different affinities.” Jie could not contain his excitement. If only his companions could see him right now, they’d surely be happy. Especially all the Ardhians who rooted in him. Jie silently swore that once he saved Nyssa, he’d return to Nirvana Metropolis to strengthen their defense against the empire. However, he was not even sure if he’d manage to survive the ordeal inside this time loop barrier. “Strengthen your fire manipulation techniques. It wouldn’t be easy, I know. But you need to give your best. The vast scale of the difference between your power and that of the priestess is immeasurable. Yours is just a speck.” “That’s comfortin

HAMRIEL was inside the library of the ice castle casually reading a book when Weakling entered holding a glass of water. It was almost midnight. “It's already late, Weakling. You should be sleeping by now. It'll strengthen your spirit.” Hamriel put down the book she was reading after the child gave her the glass. “I just came to see if you were fine.” Weakling smiled warmly. Hamriel drank the water and took the glass back to her table. “It is happening again. You know where to hide. It's the safest place inside this barrier.” “Why has it seemed you're saying goodbye, Priestess?” Weakling’s little face was worried. “I have seen Ethros’ improvements. I guess he's the one I'm waiting for.” Hamriel averted her gaze. “The one who'll free you from the curse?” Hamriel nodded. “Hopefully, I've been looking forward to this day for over two thousand years.” “But Priestess, what will happen to us?” Hamr

“PRIESTESS!” Weakling sobbed hard as Hamriel’s body slowly disintegrated. “No, you can’t leave us here!” Jie tried to console the child, even though he was confused for a moment, because, at the back of his mind, she vividly saw Hamriel. He was shouting her name in agony as he witnessed a pair of ivory wings being cut from her back. “Hami…” he suddenly muttered. He was probably hallucinating again, so Jie hardly shook his head. “How can I survive here without you?” Weakling continued to lament as she couldn’t hold Hamriel’s body anymore. “That’s enough, Weakling.” He breathed out. Soon after the priestess’ body was gone, a medium-sized white orb suddenly materialized. “Oh, God! What is this?” He was hesitant to touch it. Although he was just waiting for a confirmation about it. “I guess that’s the Orb of Oblivion... sealed inside the priestess’ body,” Weakling said after she wiped her tears. “This is... the legendary orb?” Jie grabbed the orb carefully and studied it. He’

JIE was confused to see the face of the unfamiliar man. “Who is he?” “That's Birsha, the guild master of the Black Destroyers. Unfortunately, they crossed the labyrinth at the most dreadful time. The maze was moving uncontrollably; all his companions were wiped out. If only the captain wasn't near the vicinity, he'd surely die in the clasp of a Doppelis.” Criston supplied him with all the information needed. “Let’s bring him out then.” Jie decided. Criston assisted Birsha. He removed the rope tied to his feet so he could walk. “Let’s fly. I have enough energy to reach the labyrinth,” Damien said. Criston got Birsha, while Damien carried Jie on the magic circle as they flew. It only took them a few minutes. Unexpectedly, they did not encounter any monsters. And the most surprising thing was that the Zhuartan Labyrinth was on a perfectly straight path. It wasn't dark, and there were no signs of monsters inside. “What is going on?” Birsha broke his silence. “The labyrinth took

EVERY face in the room was excited about the idea of sparring. For Ryker, it was his way of measuring Ethros’ capability since they had no other choice but to launch an attack on the tower. “Pardon my intrusion, my lord. But I want to know what happened to Liv.” Lucius worriedly asked. Jie gently tapped the old man’s shoulder. “She’s fine; Liv made her choice. I’d love to fill you in on the details later. But to sum up, Liv is with Strela inside the time loop barrier.” “Time loop barrier? I know you’d successfully cross Litus Forest effortlessly.” The old man appeared proud of their feat. “I can’t wait to know about Strela.” “It wasn’t easy, Lucius. It was a consolation that I’d met Strela—she’s an adorable child. But then again, it wasn’t a walk in the park,” Damien said. Ryker raised an eyebrow as he heard the captain. “For a mediocre fighter like you, of course it’s hard. You failed to obtain the legendary orb anyway.” Jie suppressed his laughter. He missed the bickering

TAFTANI jumped out in happiness as the extraction had finally come to fruition.“You've been holding out for a long time, little one. I commend you for that. But it seemed like you had already reached your limit.” He walked around the crystal where the holder was confined. “You're giving up, aren’t you? That’s good!”The blinking green light traveling from the wires connected to the crystal going to the empty sphere flask was slowly moving until it finally reached it, like a raindrop dripping into the empty orb.“Good girl! You have made it hard for all of us these past few days. Just give up already and die!” Taftani’s wicked laughter reverberated inside the tower.“Come on! Drip! Drip! Drip!” The high mage was giggling like a little girl. He even danced and sang of happiness. “More! Yes, that’s it! Do you know what the vast possibilities of the power of the Candela and Luominen once combined We'll be a step closer to immortality!”He had been in a tight spot lately because Emperor A

THERE was a sudden commotion inside the headquarters of the Akatasuna Guild upon hearing Krecia’s report. Jie was still recuperating his energy from the sparring, and he could not calm down, knowing Nyssa had probably lost her life at this very moment.Everyone gathered inside the war room. Damien and Ryker were busy contacting their subordinates who were available to aid them. Since the schedule of the Bestowing has changed, some members of the guild who needed to travel to Ankhe would not make it in time.“Our force will be weakened compared to what I originally planned. Some guild officials went to Astraea since the chief called for them,” Ryker said, mentioning their main base. He kept tapping the hologram in front of his face, coming from the communication crystal. “This communication device is unreliable sometimes.”“Probably the magic waves around your estate are messed up. THE Orb of Oblivion required everyone to be together to fully utilize its power. It was risky since they were in one group, but they had to take their chances. Jie strengthened his resolve not to look at the skirmish going on in the peasant district below.“The Bestowing is almost done. Let's hope the Helios will disperse. Although I highly doubt it, they wouldn’t fortify the tower like this if nothing is going on.” Damien’s gaze was fixed on the group of imperial soldiers in red armor.Behind Habicht were four other gigantic birds—a hummingbird, a raven, and a kingfisher—each carrying two people, most of whom were members of the Knight of Terra aside from Krecia. And then there was Sigurd, who rode alone in his smaller-sized ifrit bird. Each of them wore the communication crystal in one ear given by Ryker to avoid misunderstandings during the operation. So far, everything has gone smoothly according to their pla

IN Monte Peak, Princess Baharini requested Elder Chen to see Nyssa. The child was left in isolation to recover as she was battling with a severe traumatic experience.“Elder Chen, I can’t thank you enough for removing the shackle curse on me and Kafle. I have a favor to ask. May I see Nyssa? I need to talk to her,” Baharini said as she was on the balcony of the Great Healer’s residence. There was a heavy blizzard outside, and the house was protected by a thin shield preventing the snow from getting in. “She needs to recuperate. Although the curse had been lifted from her body, there’s a type of pain in her heart that I couldn’t heal. She kept looking for her brother, but I heard the Supreme General gave him a special task before he could visit.” Elder Chen poured hot tea into two crystal cups. He offered one to the princess, to which the latter accepted.Elder Chen continued to talk. “Although Nyssa could visit the Nefth Fortress along with the Knights of Terra, it's unsafe to do so.

But Jie was not that ungrateful. “Now is the time. The supreme general summoned you,” Keeva said upon entering his room. She deactivated the healing barrier.Jie stretched out his hands and body to ensure nothing was wrong. Indeed, he was feeling better. He was in the hallway with Keeva, and they were escorted by two armored soldiers going to the war room where General Ibri spent most of his time. The soldiers saluted the supreme general, and they were immediately dismissed along with Keeva.“How do you feel now?” General Ibri asked without looking at him. He was busy scrutinizing a map on the table. It appeared like a colorful hologram.Jie strolled near him and cleared his throat before answering. “Better now. Thanks for looking out for me.”“That certainly isn’t free.” General Ibri chuckled. He finall

PRINCESS Tzeitel combined her fire manipulation technique with illusion magic to imitate the dark flame. Although her flame was lethal, it was not as destructive as the dark flame. She was just buying time to crack the barrier so they could get out, but the numbers of enemies attacking them were too much for her to handle.“I will never forgive the Elshers! All of you shall perish with me!” Tzeitel maintained his act of being possessed. As she kept attacking and defending without moving in her position since she was ensuring Izvern’s balance. She talked again in their mind link. “There are too many. We are running out of time.”But there was no response.Tzeitel released a significant amount of her mana to suppress the soldiers, who were already advanced. Fenton and Halix created a formation to trap them. It was not long before Lord Filus arrived; he summoned a fire net made of volcanic ash. Tzeitel and Izvern were caught. The princess tried to create an exit portal to escape, but th

He switched the elf’s body with his, all according to his sister’s plan. “Princeling is dying, by the way. I hope he can make it out of the barrier alive.”Agni gave the blade to Tzeitel. The latter tightly held on to her brother’s arm as they progressed in running away.“Worry about yourself. You need to return quickly to avoid suspicion.” Tzeitel was confident about her plan. “I’m waiting for reinforcement. All we need to do is get out the barrier.”Agni clicked his tongue. “I thought you’d kill the youngest son. Why did you change your mind?”“I gave him another ch

He should be done with his plan by now. However, before she could make a move, Cariux came in the bridal chamber drunk.“Oh, the princess is still awake, and she seems to be waiting for me. It’s already past midnight.” Lord Cariux sat beside her on the bed.“It’s our wedding night, Lord Cariux.” Tzeitel kept her head straight without looking at him. JIE was so puzzled by what was going on, especially when Ryker spoke again.“I shall take my leave, General Ibri.” Ryker bowed down to the elf general’s presence, then he looked at Ethros. “He is at your disposal now.”General Ibri nodded. “See you in the next war council meeting, Lord Vaughn.”“Ryker! What are to doing?” Jie was too stunned to hear Ryker. Did he betray him? Why it seems he was sold off to the supreme general?“This is for your own good, Ethros. Let’s see each other again in the imperial city,” Ryker smirked. He turned his back and did not look back.Jie’s knees wobbled as he tried to get up. • Chapter 102 – Supreme General

THE massive iron gate that served as the entrance to Nefth Fortress immediately opened as soon as Ryker showed the card of his identification—a medium-size blue rectangular thin crystal with an insignia of the War Council.“Hey, are you sure they are safe?” Jie was getting impatient because Ryker kept ignoring his question. “If something happened to Kafle and the princess. I will not forgive you!”“If I were you, Ethros, I’d shut my mouth. Nefth is the largest military camp in Advani, they can hear you. And with your current state, I doubt if you’ll survive even their lightest military punishment.” Ryker motioned his hand to hasten the speed of the six cloaked figures carrying Jie with the magic circle formation.“Can we just go to my sister? • Chapter 101 – Out of Control

JIE effortlessly shielded himself with his blue flame, while his two sticks gave out fatal attacks using a simple trick of Mizuagua Conjuration. The water magic perfectly balanced his defense. “I have no time for small fries!” Jie widened the reach of his blue flame, creating an opening enough for him to jump from one dragon to another towards the net where his companions were confined. There were too many imperial soldiers, and it seemed he underestimated the situation just because he could conjure an advance level of fire techniques. “Endure a little more; I’ll get rid of them!” Jie shouted. Kafle had once mentioned about the weakness of their kind—nets made of volcanic ash. Lefyr might survive the capture since he was not under the curse, but the princess and Kafle might not hold out for long.He chanted a complicated fire spell to summon his black flame. Jie did not hesitate to use it. The dark flame formed a peculiar type of dragon with blazing red eyes. “Kill!” Jie ordered.
