THE LOST HEIR

1. Betrayed and humiliated

“Ugh! I am so tired.” Ian groaned while stretching his body. 

Ian Laude is just a simple guy. He just finished his part-time job and worked as a delivery man. He decided to rest and drink water for a while before going home. 

“No need to complain if I am doing everything for us.” He can’t stop smiling while looking at his picture together with Sharmaine. 

Sharmaine is his girlfriend, and she was the most beautiful woman in his college. Ian admits that he was working part-time to spend his money on Sharmaine, because he wants to be the best boyfriend. 

“After getting my salary, I am going to take you out for dinner to an expensive restaurant.” he smirked and kissed Sharmaine's face. 

Ian slowly stood up and took a deep breath. He was so excited to go home back to his dormitory to rest and contact Sharmaine. 

“Gosh! He's so handsome!” someone freaked out. 

Ian suddenly stopped walking when he saw people around. He looked around. 

“Wait, what’s happening here?” he got confused. 

Ian’s curiousness leads him through the crowd. He wanted to see what was happening. 

“Wow! Such a nice car.” He was amazed when he saw a luxury Ferrari. 

Ian knows how much it costs, and he knows the owner must be very rich, which makes him very jealous. He was also shocked to see bunch of flowers holding by a man. 

“That must be the owner. Looking rich.” Ian said while nodding. 

He just doesn’t understand why the women and the crowd looked very shocked by him.  

“Luxury car and flowers? Ha! Some rich guy might be chasing a girl right now.” Ian said and smirked. 

After a while of watching the guy, he got bored. Ian just shrugged his shoulder and decided to leave. 

“There’s nothing to see more in here. Just some rich guy courting a woman.” he groaned. 

When Ian was about to leave while humming. He stopped when he saw a familiar figure downstairs. 

“Wait..” he said. 

He wanted to make sure it was his girlfriend, and after a minute, he was sure it was her. 

“What is she doing here?” he blurted and got very shocked. 

Ian doesn’t know what to feel. But when he saw the rich guy chasing her, he froze. He doesn’t know it was his girlfriend the rich guy was chasing all along from the start. 

“What the hell is happening?” he softly blurted. 

Ian totally knows and understands what was happening. He could see that the rich guy was asking something from his girlfriend.  

“Dude! That's my woman. Go find yours!” He even shouted but it seemed like they didn’t hear him, and the crowd just ignored him. 

“She’s not going to accept you and your flowers! She loves me! I am his boyfriend!” He just sneered thinking that Sharmaine was going to reject and push the rich guy away. 

Ian just wanted to make sure, but he was just being positive, and he doesn’t want to think that Sharmaine will totally turn her back at him. 

“Nah, Sharmaine isn’t going to cheat or betray me.” he bravely said. 

As he was dedicated to saying something more, his eyes couldn’t believe what he just saw. His body went cold. He couldn't make a move. 

“Oh my gosh! She agreed and even kissed him!” the women at his back squealed in a romantic way. 

They were all happy watching Sharmaine and the rich guy kissing, while Ian couldn’t believe it. He wanted to believe that it was just for a show.  

“Shar...maine...” he mumbled. 

Ian was very hurt. Right now, he was so mad. 

“Sharmaine would never do that.” he blurted. 

But he was already looking at the scene. It was so clear for him that his woman kissed someone. Ian hurriedly starts running.  

“Sharmaine!” he yelled her name. 

But seems like she can’t hear him, because there are lots of people for, he was enjoying with the rich guy. 

“Hey! can you fuck*ng look at your way?! 

“Are you blind?!” 

That was all what he heard while running through the crowd because he keeps on bumping into someone. 

But he doesn’t care because his mind is occupied right now. 

“Wh-y did you have to do this to me?” Ian softly whispered while looking at Sharmaine who looked very happily in the rich guy’s arm. 

Ian wanted to cry. His body is shaking in anger. He just wants to talk to her and ask her why she did that. 

“Hey! Watch out!” Another person complained and groaned after Ian bumped her and made her fall to the ground. 

Ian was so sorry, but he doesn’t have time to look back and help the woman. It’s just that his eyes are already covered by the tears forming inside, but he quickly wiped it. 

“I know I am not like him, but I love you so much, Sharmaine. Maybe, you are just doing this for popularity.” he sneered. 

As soon as he finally got closer to them. Sharmaine doesn’t even look at his way. 

“Get away from her!” Ian shouted when he just pulled the guy’s arm away from her. 

Everyone gasped. 

“Are you insane?!” she shouted at him. 

Ian glared at her and held her arm. Sharmaine groaned and struggled. 

“Hey, dude! What are you doing? You’re hurting her.” The rich guy pulled Sharmaine toward him. 

Sharmaine sulked into the rich guy’s chest which made him angrier. 

“What am I doing? ha!” he sneered. 

Ian looks around and he can see that everyone is already watching them which he doesn’t care. 

“I am just doing my thing as her boyfriend.” he firmly said. 

Everyone gasped. Christopher just scoffed and looked at Sharmaine. 

“Is he your boyfriend?” he asked her. 

Ian swallowed hard while looking at Sharmaine. He felt very jealous that she was in another’s arms. 

He doesn’t care if there are lots of people as long as he is going to take his woman away. Sharmaine just looked at him without saying anything. 

“Hey! What are you doing! You are ruining everything!” one from the crowd shouted at him. 

Ian just scoffed and looked at the guy and his woman again. Sharmaine was very speechless and swallowed hard. 

“Sharmaine, do you know this guy?” the guy asked her again. 

Sharmaine swallowed hard and looked at Ian with a strange look. Ian can see that she’s hating him right now, because he was embarrassing her. 

“No, Christopher! I don’t know him. How would I know a poor guy like him?” she groaned. 

The crowd was awed and all wooed. Christopher is the rich guy’s name, but what makes Ian more hurt was what Sharmaine just said. She just humiliated and denied him in front of everyone. 

“Oh gosh.” Christopher groaned and smirked. 

“Hey, dude. I know my woman is pretty and men are drooling at her. Please, don’t be one of them.” Christopher told him. 

Ian wanted to hit him, but he couldn’t. He can’t do anything but look at Sharmaine with a very angry look. He would never think she was going to do this to him. 

“Sharmaine, wh-at did you just said?” he asked her. 

Sharmaine looked very nervous. 

“You’re not my boyfriend. Christopher is my boyfriend, you liar.” she freaked out. 

Because of that, everyone thinks that Ian is a psychopath. Looking at him with a scared look makes him very sad. That was already enough to prove that she doesn’t really love him. 

“Why can’t you tell him and everyone the truth?!” he shouted at her. 

The crowd stopped making noises. But still, they wouldn’t believe everything he said. In short, they don’t believe him. Sharmaine just scoffed. 

“Come on, Chris. Let’s go. The party’s over.” she mumbled. 

Chris just nodded and took a last glance from Ian who is watching them with a glare in his eyes. And with his fists closed, he can’t do anything but cuss them inside his mind. He continued to yell at them, but they didn’t care about him. 

“Hey! Why can’t you just go home and sleep? You are interrupting our moment.” Christopher told him. 

Ian just angrily looked at him. He knows Sharmaine just liked him, because he was rich. But when he saw the cameras, he was shocked and exhausted. He knows that what he did was already being watched by many.
