48: Another Sharmaine's loss

Alexander couldn't just forget his past. He thought he was able to manage every memory from his past now that he was rich and powerful, but he was wrong. When he saw Sharmaine's aunt and uncle, he went timid like a dog.

"Tell me, what did they do to you that made you like a whimpering dog?" Shane asked him.

With that, Alexander stopped chewing his food and just cleared his throat after swallowing.

"Nah, it's a long story and I don't want to talk about it. Let us just talk about our wedding." he said.

Shane just scoffed and rolled her eyes. She knew he was just using their wedding as an excuse for her to stop asking him about the past.

"Come on, Alex, we have so much time to plan our wedding. Besides, I want you to think about it more clearly." she said and shook her head.

She wanted him to make sure that he wants to marry her, because she doesn't want to assume that she was going to be tied to him... forever.

"Wait, are you saying that I can just regret my decision or change my mind?"
