“The target is five minutes away.” The head of the surveillance team manning the database announced into the headphones. Meanwhile Alex and his team were spread out along the roofs of the high rise buildings lining the major road where the convoy carrying the contraband were supposed to pass through. Some were also hiding around the buildings, taking advantage of the camera blind spots detected by the software team. Soon, sirens began to blare out, and drivers cleared out of the road for the convoy which were carrying ‘government goods’. There were soldiers in uniform, fully armed to the teeth escorting the convoy, in addition to the police sirens. So, everyone assumed that the convoy was carrying either money from banks, or weapons from government research firms. The tornado quickly formed a whirlpool above them, sucking the weaker ones in. Alex had successfully set up the attack during the time his soul projection was talking to them. The evil cultivators were immediately confused and they began to fight the whirlpool. Before they could come up with a way to break it, the whirlpool disappeared without warning and darkness immediately filled the enclosure. The darkness was particularly thick at the other end, opposite the evil cultivators, making everyone confused. Why was the darkness coming from the other end when the whirlpool was above the offenders? “Uh? What's going on? He began to walk around them, releasing his nether energy to fish out those who reacted strongly to his aura of death. After a while he dragged out two more men. Alex reappeared in the sitting room of one of his properties which was close to the battlefield. He quickly sat cross legged to stabilize his cultivation, churning his energy as fast as possible. Alex kicked open the door and entered the warehouse. His heart was shaking, and he had felt sick ever since he called the men at Food Haven and discovered that indeed, Eleanor went to meet a client and never returned. He slowly moved forward into the modified warehouse, keeping his ears open for any ambush. The warehouse looked ordinary to the eyes, but Alex could tell it was a detached space right away. He had barely walked deep into the warehouse when he saw Eleanor tied up in a chair. Both her limbs were bound to the chair, and her mouth was held with a tape, her eyes blindfolded. His memory flashed to Kristen, the banished female disciple who tried to steal his sperm. He had not heard from her in years, making him forget about her. But this can only be her handiwork. “I thought that she was caught and thwarted. What the fuck is going on here? How did Nicanor get a hold of my DNA?” Before Alex could make sense of what was happening, the clone swung a punch at him. The punch was powerful and packed with a familiar technique. Alex quickly parried the blow, surprised to see that their strength was somehow equal.
