THE RETURN

Knock….

The sound of the door employed curiosity in the mind of everyone present in the room. It’s been over two months since the accident Jack had, Mira got forced into a marriage with Senor Roberto as everyone thought Jack was dead.

After the accident, Jack’s car was found by the river side, completely crushed. At that point everyone assumed that he was dead, there was even a three-night celebration in the mansion because of his death. It was a good opportunity for Mira to get married to the man of her father’s dreams. Since they couldn’t divorce each other, she tried to mourn her husband, but instead she found herself in a marriage ceremony with a man she saw as her worst nightmare.

Knock!

Another knock pulsated the family’s celebration going on the mansion.

“Mia can you please check who is on the god dam door.” Mark, the first born of Flair, clenched his jaw as he yelled for one of the maid closest to him in annoyance.

Immediately Mia opened the door to check who it was, a familiar male figure drenched in his own blood, fell on the floor of the mansions, everyone was wide eyes and mouth agape, they couldn’t believe their eyes, one of the maids even fainted at the sight of the man, thinking that the ghost of Jack had come for them.

Mira hastily ran to his direction, she had mixed feelings inside of her, what if he found out that she had betrayed their love? What if he hates her for getting married to the one man he saw as an enemy? Would he ever forgive her for not searching for him? All these thoughts led her to the conclusion that she wasn’t going to forgive herself if he dies for real this time.

She picked him up by his collar, shaking him vigorously, trying to wake him up. The entire family watched the whole event and were astounded.

Roberto who was jealous of the fact that his newly wedded wife, left his arms at the expense of another man, clenched his fist, his dark brown eyes was fixated on Mira who wasn’t aware of the angry man walking towards her.

He then pulled her up by her dress, pushing her away from the almost lifeless body of Jack.

“You piece of junk, why are you still alive? Why can’t you just die or go back to the garbage truck you came from.” Roberto was on his knees, punching the unconscious body of Jack unstoppably. Mr. Flair then walked towards him.

“It’s enough Robert, he still serves me,” He signaled some men to come forth. “Take him to the medics, clean his wounds and make sure he is taken proper care of, then I will deal with him myself. His child is dead so he has no use to this family anymore apart from serving at our feet.”

Two men then picked Jack up, and almost immediately, a tattoo was recognized on the back of Jack’s neck by one of the men. He pretended as though he didn’t notice the tattoo, that would cause panic in the room and Jack would die for sure.

Few moments later, Mira walks to the seated position of her father, who was tottering his legs as though he had thoughts in his head.

“Father, I know you are not as cruel as people think you are, I know you are a good man papa, I know that if you wanted to kill Jack you would have done it years ago. Father, I beg of you, let Jack go, he has suffered a lot in your hands.” She then goes on her kneels.

“Father, if you let him go today, I promise not to go in search of him anymore, I promise to be with the only man you have ever wanted me to be with. Nothing would ever cause me to go back to him anymore.” She pleaded, she knew that was the only way to end the suffering of her husband, she wanted to sacrifice their love for his freedom.

Before anything could happen, Max walked into the room with confidence thrilled in his demeanor.

“You! Son of a bitch, you killed my child,” He yelled on his way to the Mr. Flair who stands still, maintaining an astounded demeanor.

What has gotten over Jack? Isn’t he aware that the move he just made could end his god forsaken life?

He walked towards Flair, with anger blazing through his eyes.

“Kneel before me,” He said pointing a glare at Flair, as he stands right in front of him.
