THE NIGHT REDEEMER

Chapter 3

One of the first rule which a worker at the dome must not break is having one the test subject conscious.Alico Gander,is not going to take it lightly with the person.He is Strict and dangerous.One slight mistake from anybody could make him release a bullet into anyone's skull but here is Alex,a young and delicate hearted guy breaking one of the rule.

He turned to the bed to see Anaya not only conscious but also with her eyes wide open."Oh goodness!! "He muttered looking around to see other workers busy doing what they know how to do best.There were cameras installed at every nook and cranny of the room which is on 24/7 surveillance by Alico Gander himself.

Unabashedly,Alex grabbed the metal handle of the bed and hurriedly pushed it into another empty room.

"Where the hell am I.Who are you?"Anaya struggled with the rope from the bed.He stared strangely at Alex.

"You need to stay quiet otherwise get us killed"Alex demonstrated with a finger across his lips.

"What are you talking about,how do I get here?"she looked around.

Alex didn't bother to ask further questions because he knew she was injected before being taken to the dome,hence he presumed she won't remember anything for the meantime.

" Listen,I don't know why am doing this but I need to save your life"

"Save my life?? You're confusing me,no one is trying to kill me"

Alex exhaled deeply.He was confused on what to do.He paced around the room scratching his head like one about to go bunker.Already, he has started sweating profusely due to nervousness and fear.

"Wait!!"Anaya said from behind which made Alex turn to her."What's that?

"Mumm.Where… is my ..mmum?Anaya stammered."Dadd"she muffled as everything that took place before she was kidnapped flashed back to her.One could see tears engulfed her eyeball."Am I going to see them again?"She stared at Alex Who stood speechlessly unable to utter a word.All the workers at the dome has been expertly trained to be heartless and fearless but here is Alex,unable to withstand the tear of a strange lady who was supposed to be amputated and turned into a dreadful robot for a reason unknown to him.That was an evidence that the young man had developed some feelings for her which might cost him his dear life.

He swallowed hard,dragged his feet on the floor and sat beside her on the bed.He held her hand and stared hopefully at her"All my life,I have Been so heartless and I do perilous things"Alex began.Already,Anaya has stopped crying but one could still see the tears in her eye.Surprisingly,Alex leaned forward and wiped the remaining tears from her face before he continued "I don't mind dying for doing just one good thing.I promise to do everything to get you back to your parent"

Anaya stared speechlessly at him.His words were like a shrilling cold river that runs through her heart and soul purifying it and dwindling her lost hope."How do you get here?"she asked.

Alex stood up"It's a long story".He began to loosen the rope from her hands."I need to keep you safe before we plan on your escape ".

"My escape?"Anaya stretched her two hands feeling slight pain from it due to how long it has been tied.She straightened up from the bed staring at alex."You're leaving with me".

Alex dropped the rope after he finally loosened it and stare at her without a word."What's your name?"he said.

"Anaya".

He walked to the center of the room and dragged a rug which was used to cover the floor to reveal a safety tunnel with a metal lid.How he came about the tunnel was something known to him alone.He creaked it opened and gestured to Anaya."You're going to stay here till night before you escape"

"What!!" Anaya peeked to see the tunnel not only dark but also presumed it to be deep due to the metal ladder that extended inside.She glanced at Alex hesitantly

"No… no! .Am not going to stay here"she stepped backward.

"We have no time Anaya,that's the only way to get you out of here safely"Alex persuaded.

Just then,the sound of an emergency blare erupted in the building which means an impromptu meeting is about to begin"Hurry now.i will come for you at night"

Anaya stepped closer to the tunnel.She glanced at Alex for the last time before she started climbing down the tunnel.Alex closed it hurriedly and covered it with the rug before hurrying out.

In the main Building,all the workers responded to the emergency alarm.One could see all in a white scrub and blue trousers.All lined up before alico Gander who suddenly entered from the control room.He was well dressed in a blue suit and trouser,his face was unsmiling and stern which could scare the living wit out of anyone couple with his muscular body "Attention everyone"he began with both hands behind him like a chief commander addressing his soldiers.

"Some people have the audacity to break my rules"he stared at the workers one after the other.Hearing that,Alex began to quiver thinking he has been caught.The workers also look at one another as if to fish out the law breaker.

"You!!"he pointed to one of the workers ."Come out!!"One of the workers came out.He was shivering seriously like one beaten by cold.

"This man here was caught sleeping with one of the test subjects"Alico Gander said which caused a soliloquy among the rest workers.

"He's going to pay with his life"he added which brought back the attention of the workers and eventually dwindled the soliloquy.The man fell on his knees immediately."Am sorry bosss.. that's not going to repeat itself again"he rubbed his two palm together in apology.Before anyone knew what was happening,alico Gander removed a gun and shot it at him.Blood slashed.The man fell dead on the floor.All stared at his body on the floor as a dreadful tranquility lingered in the sanctum.

He waved the gun at the workers "If any one of you try to play games with me,such person is going end like him"

"Clear him!!"he commanded and left.

Workers like Alex stare fearfully as the man's body is dragged away on the floor.The only thought that filled his mind that moment was how he's going to save Anaya without getting caught especially now that he has fallen in love with the young lady.

In another room,the strange lady stood in front of a mirror,she began to pull the mask from his face to reveal a beautiful young lady.That was Julianah.Yes, Julianah is the strange lady who has been terrorizing the whole city of Lancaster.She stared at her reflection in the mirror.She opened a drawer where the mirror was placed and kept her gun.She began to pull her cloth,one could see her attractive body as she flung the cloth and stepped into the bathroom.Events of the night flashed through her mind as the water from the shower pour down from her body.She could picture the pleading look from Anaya As she dragged her from her parents but she has no choice than to follow the command of Alico Gander otherwise get his twins sister killed.

Alico gander has been using Julianah as a weapon to kidnap females every night in the city for a purpose known to him alone.He had kidnapped her twin sister and killed her parents too.He threatened to kill her twin sister if she fails to follow his command which has rendered her helpless.
