Chapter 26

*2008*

Rapid footsteps could be heard as a boy ran through an alley with a cake box in his hand. His black hair was dusty and sweat covered his dark skinned face. He seemed so eager to get to his destination and not even the fatigue showing on his face could deter him. He ran as he panted till he got to a small house, he stopped and knocked.

“Mom! Dad! I'm back.” his small voice rang out. This boy was (is) me. My name is Mackintosh Perch, from Central Africa and my life-changing journey begins on this day, on my birthday.

A joyous day in the family as it's my birthday. I had just clocked the age of nine and my Uncle came all the way from Malaysia (Africa) to celebrate my birthday. I was greatly shocked as well as exhilarated, yet although he came bearing gifts, I still had this tingling sensation that all will soon change. I couldn't explain it but I knew he didn't come all the way from Malaysia just to celebrate my birthday, either he came with good news or it's pure bad news. Well,
