Derek quickly held Amelia, when he heard the sound, trying to protect her from imminent danger; Amelia raised her head and gasped when she saw Sam standing right in front of her.
Her heartbeat skyrocketed, but she immediately tried to maintain composure as she stared at him in surprise. She never expected to see him working in a restaurant, what the hell! She muttered in her mind.
Sam and Amelia held each other’s gaze for a few seconds until the manager came in between them; doing all he could to hold back the ferocious anger that was burning deep inside of him.
“I’m really sorry for the inconvenience, please come in and make yourselves comfortable,” the manager said, displaying a rather forced smile that was evidently obvious.
Derek brushed his dark curls and sighed, blinking his attractive eyelashes at Sam, he had gray eyes and was quite handsome with a well-caved jaw. He was also built, although not as much as Sam.
Derek was about to accept the manager’s apology when Sam suddenly pushed the manager out of the way, walking straight toward Amelia. He couldn’t hold back any longer, Amelia was definitely cheating on him with this man.
The pain in his heart aggravated with each step he took, it was like he was being pounded from the inside out, he had never felt so much pain and anger at the same time before. It was a terrible kind of feeling.
Giving Amelia all he had and this was how she repaid him, he was even ready to propose to her the following day, the more he thought about it, the more the pain and anger grew.
“What are you doing here Amelia, what’s going on… who is this?” Sam dropped off three questions instantly, glancing briefly at Derek, who looked a bit confused about what was going on.
The restaurant had suddenly become silent again, they were all watching him and Amelia now.
“Don’t tell me bozo here was dating such a beautiful lady, what the hell did he expect?” George whispered to Stephan as they watched the scene from the entrance of the kitchen.
“I don’t know, but I’m really sure he wasn’t expecting this, the motherfucker pushed the manager!” Stephan exclaimed.
“I bet that’s the end of his job here,” George replied, holding the mopstick like a staff.
At first, the words hit Amelia and she felt rather embarrassed, as she played with the tip of her black hair, staring at Sam without saying anything.
She was a beautiful young lady, and her midnight-colored hair brought the sharpness in her deep blue eyes. Amelia wasn’t only beautiful, she had this hot slim figure eight structure that came out when she wore tight dresses just like she was putting on at that moment.
“Answer me, Amelia, what is going on?” Sam yelled, his tone sounded like he’d burst into tears anytime soon.
Within a few seconds, Amelia shoved off her embarrassed mood, it was high time she showed him that he wasn’t the one she loved.
“You should be ashamed of yourself, Sam. You’re a loser and I never liked you, it was all camouflage,” Amelia snapped at him immediately, standing right next to Derek.
Sam was astonished hearing those insults coming out of someone he cared about the most, the pain in his chest was starting to suffocate him, he held his chest subconsciously, mouth agape at the words Amelia just blotted out.
“Do you really mean those words, Amelia?” Sam managed to ask the question, every time he spoke, it affected the pain in his chest.
“One hundred percent, Sam. You’re not my type of man,” Amelia pointed out, holding Derek by the arm and resting her head on his shoulders, gesturing to Sam the man she really wanted.
Hearing the words again, was like he was continuously being inflicted with another round of pain, Sam was confused now.
Derek's eyes suddenly brightened.
“Oh, is this guy you told me about? The one who gave you everything once? Derek asked, a surprised smile on his face.
“Yes baby, It’s him,” Amelia confirmed, her gaze not leaving Sam’s.
Derek laughed lightly “How pathetic, sorry about that bro, your girl fell out of love with you,”
“I gave you everything I had, Amelia, why are you doing this,” Sam ignored Derek’s taunting and focused on Amelia instead. He was here because of her, wallowing in everyday torment just because he wanted to please her.
And all he got was this, how could she be so cruel; this wasn’t the Amelia he knew.
“You didn’t give me everything, Sam. You only gave me the things you could afford, and they weren’t enough, we couldn’t even have dinner in a restaurant like this, think about it, Sam.”
“With Derek, I can go anywhere I want, eat at any restaurant of my choice; buy everything I ever wanted, this is the place I want to be, Sam,” Amelia concluded pouring out everything she had been holding up all these while.
Sam was dumbfounded, even after trying his best to satisfy Amelia, it wasn’t enough. She dumped him for someone richer and better. It wasn’t really a new thing in the world, but he never expected someone like Amelia to do such a thing.
She supported him and showed him so much love, was all that an act? Sam thought he could hear the sound of his heart beating like it wanted to burst through his chest. This pain was the height of it, he had never seen anything compared.
The way Amelia was talking, it was obvious that she had made up her mind a long time ago.
There was silence for a few seconds.
Amidst the drama, seeing all that was going on, the manager decided to make his decision there and then. He felt no pity for Sam, neither did any of the waiters.
“I do not care about your silly relationship drama, Sam. You’re fired! And you must pay a thousand dollars for the two expensive plates you broke.” the manager said, breaking the silence that lingered after Amelia spoke.
Sam didn’t respond to the manager's nagging, he just continued gazing at Amelia, as his thoughts wandered. Everything they had shared had suddenly come to an end, the fact that he had no clue about this made it even more painful.
It was clearly obvious that Amelia had been seeing Derek for a while.
“We should leave baby. I can’t eat at a restaurant where your ex-boyfriend works, it’s disgusting.” Derek stated, holding Amelia's face in his hands, she stared into his eyes and nodded in agreement.
That simple gesture between them tightened Sam’s heart like he was going to stop breathing.
The manager's anger boiled as Derek and Amelia left the restaurant, he had just lost a whole lot of money because of Sam. Derek was definitely a rich man who was ready to spend so much and now they were leaving.
He couldn’t control his anger any longer, he went straight to Sam and slapped him again.
“You’re going to pay ten thousand dollars, Sam. For making me lose such a valuable customer, do you hear me?” the manager growled, rage written all over his face.
Sam didn’t respond nor did he react to the slap, he just stared at Amelia and Derek as they walked out of the restaurant. That should have been him, holding her hand.
The manager got furious because Sam was ignoring him, and almost slapped him again but was stopped by a familiar voice…
The manager, Sam, and the waiters who were watching the drama all turned to the direction the voice came from, no one noticed when he entered the restaurant or where he came from; and surprisingly. It wasn’t just one man. The old man sat on one of the fancy chairs in the restaurant, behind him were ten well-built men, with stern faces, black suits, and dark sunglasses. Only the old man was wearing a suit that seemed more expensive, it was a tuxedo. His hair was all gray, and there were wrinkles on his face. The manager recognized the kind of people who dressed that way, he must be one of the rich moguls in Los Angeles, he thought. How the hell did they get in, without anyone noticing, the manager couldn’t understand what was really happening. Nevertheless, he had to act respectfully. The old man stood up from where he was sitting and walked briskly towards Sam and the manager, the sound of his shoes was the only thing that echoed in the restaurant at that moment. When he g
Sam had been getting too many surprises and shocks for one day, he looked up at the old man from where he was sitting, his eyes glowing in amazement. It was a fucking joke, Sam concluded in his mind and a slight grin appeared on his face. “This is not a joke Sam,” the old man said, as if he read his mind; giving Sam a hand to help him up his feet. The surprise and confusion slowly returned to Sam’s face again. What the hell was going on here? What does he mean by a young master? Sam asked himself again, staring at the old man confusedly. “My name is Clinton Wells, you’ll have to come with me Sam,” the elderly man shook Sam's hands, a small wrinkled grin lingering on his face. "Hey, stop! Are you kidding me? Why would I trust you? You said the restaurant belongs to this poor loser? I think you must be a patient from mental hospital! And these men in black, they must be your wardmates!" Borris laughed, he didn't believe a word of the old man. He just wanted the police to come so
The healthy rays of the morning sun, found their way into Sam's large bedroom, going straight for his eyes, the curtains weren’t closed when he fell asleep last night. The brightness of the sun shone brightly in his eyes.He robbed it slowly with the back of his palm, and then suddenly he gasped on the king-sized bed, his eyes wide open and filled with the same surprise and confusion as yesterday. When Sam saw where he was, he relaxed himself and covered his face with both of his hands, this was still like a dream to him. He would have gone back to his small apartment if all these didn’t happen all of a sudden. Until now, he still had little doubts in his heart about this whole turnaround, it was necessary; everything happened too fast, and he was taking the change well. He was about to get out of bed when his cell phone rang on the bedside table that had a beautiful luxury lamp on it. Sam went over and stared at the caller, it was just a number with no contact name. Reluctantly,
“Did you by any chance give someone such an amount you speak of, yesterday?” The bank manager asked, gazing at Sam curiously. Sam was rather confused by his question, why would he give someone a hundred million dollars, when he himself had just gotten the same amount of money the previous day? Seeing the confusion in Sam’s eyes, “Something like a gift to someone,” he clarified. Sam gave a negative nod, still looking lost. The manager seemed to have remembered something, the previous day, a wealthy man had gifted his grandson a hundred million dollars; so he thought maybe Sam was the man, that would have confirmed that he truly had such an amount in his bank. The little crowd in the bank had their attention and ears on the matter that was happening between Sam and the bankers, it was rather embarrassing for Sam; even now that he became totally rich overnight, he was still being ridiculed. When the manager saw that Sam wasn’t the person he had expected him to be, his face reverted
Sam’s phone ranged so loud inside the bank, because of the silence, it startled some of the customers and it angered the bank manager. “Turn the phone off Mr. Sam, this is a banking hall,” the bank manager growled, fury in his eyes. Sam had been tempting him to pour out his anger for some time now, and he was finally succeeding. Everybody inside the bank turned their attention to Sam whose phone was still ringing aloud, even the man who was busy dialing the honorable guest's number looked at him disgustedly because of the sound. Sam didn’t listen to the bank manager, he didn’t care about the eyes that were staring at him, he was getting used to this everyday humiliation; yesterday it was at the restaurant and now today, it was in a bank. His life had gone from bad to good, and to bad again since Amelia left him for Derek. Sam looked at the manager scornfully, before picking up the call and he immediately he did, the middle-aged man that was calling the honorable guest saw that th
“Pack your things and leave at once, I’ll have your sack letters ready in no time,” The president urged, he was so mad at them for treating a customer in such a way. It wasn’t even because Sam was an important guest, it was ordinary decency to treat a customer well. The whole bank was silent again for a moment, all the workers in the bank including the customers were all shocked by the sudden decision that Christopher Logan just made. The manager and his clerk were too surprised to even utter a word, Christopher was a very strict man when it came to discipline. They won’t be able to plead with him to forgive them, that was the end of their jobs. Sam wasn’t surprised that they were sacked, and he didn’t try to plead on their behalf, they deserved it for the humiliation they did to him, people like them do not deserve to work at a place like this. He was totally disappointed in their service. Being ridiculed and humiliated at the restaurant was still acceptable since he was a worker
Sam was angry with what Amelia just said, but he maintained composure, he was a wealthy man now, and getting unnecessarily angry wasn’t ideal, he’d let his money speak for him. Although she was just talking only to Sam’s friends, the crowd in front of the post was surprised at her behavior. It was irrational and immature, some people who wanted to get jobs from the post walked away disgustedly, but still, the crowd didn’t reduce, who wouldn’t want to work in a prestigious company? Sam’s friends were furious at her words, they had no idea that she and Sam had broken up, was it because of that, she wouldn’t offer them a job? “That’s kind of stupid, Amelia, just because you’re anchoring this post doesn’t make you a god you know,” one of Sam’s roommates in college spoke out outrageously. He was upset about Amelia’s mindset, they were inheriting another man’s sin. Amelia gave him a stern look without uttering a word, she continued attending to people that weren’t Sam’s friends, howev
Amelia was laughing like it was a joke, but she was actually calling security on her cell phone. “Hello, we have a problem here, at Derek’s and Co post…..yeah,....please hurry up,” She dropped the call with a smile. Sam wasn’t embarrassed by their laughter, nor was he moved by the call Amelia just made; he didn’t care anymore; they were all ignorant of his current state so he expected nothing less. A few of Sam's roommates, that didn’t join in insulting Sam when Amelia ordered it, were still there watching the scene, they were still trying to believe that all Sam was saying was the truth, because, even though they won’t talk bad against him, they knew how poor Sam was.Sam smiled and brought out the entry card that certifies you as an employer in the job fare. Showing it to Amelia and her doubting gang of betrayals, the laughter subsided when they saw the card Sam was holding, it was just like the ones sitting on Amelia’s table. It was meant only for employers. “That’s probably a
