Chapter 6 - Self Escape (Part.1)

Richard's words were difficult to accept, but he had no choice but to trust the words of the Grandfather who intended to help him escape. Richard rushed to the place where the grandfather said he was.

Before Richard left, going into the secret stairwell under Richard's wooden floor, he stopped looking at the Grandfather and said, "Thank you for all your help. I don't know who you really are, but I'm trying to believe what you're saying."

"Trust no one! Take care of yourself. Don't die! Hurry up!"

The last words of the grandfather, which sounded cruel but touched Richard's feelings, rushed down the secret stairway under the floor, re-closing the door from the inside.

After only 30 seconds, the thugs went straight into the tavern.

The tavern owner's grandfather seemed busy making dough as if nothing had happened. Even Richard's bowl of food on the table is gone.

"Sorry, we're not open yet!"

"Hey, old man! We'd like to ask you something. Did you see a young man come through or into this shop? You're being a man wearing a black jacket. He has a pretty good-looking face. Did you see it?"

One of the thugs wearing formal attire walked up to the table. The man appears to be the chief of the thugs who have large bodies that almost fill a small tavern.

"I told you, we're still closed! So it's impossible for anyone to come in!"

One of the sweets seemed to walk into the kitchen without any courtesy. The Grandfather began to feel panicked and worried if they managed to find a hidden shortcut. The thugs started walking around—checking every corner of the shop. In fact, it's so easy for them to drop all the stuff they're doing—crashing all the tables and chairs into a mess.

But the Grandfather tries to stay calm when confronting people like them. To act as if he is indifferent and confident, he must show that he will not waver with the threat they pose.

Suddenly the man wearing formal attire began to approach the table—sitting casually on a chair—giving a sadistic look—trying to intimidate the victim.

"Hye, old man. Are you sure nobody's in your ugly ramen shop? Who did you say your shop was still closed, and who did you prepare a bowl of ramen for?" asked the man who had burns on the right eye temple that looked so painful.

The man noticed a dirty bowl near the dishwasher that was behind him. The Grandfather keeps trying to stay calm even though his life is currently in danger.

"Of course, that's my breakfast bowl. Why? You want me to make ramen, too?"

The man grinned, he knew what the old man was hiding.

"You think I can be fucking stupid!"

Suddenly, the man immediately hit the Grandpa by using a teapot on the table so hard that the ceramic pot broke when it collided with the Grandpa's head that eventually fell on the floor.

"Quickly search this place thoroughly, others search through the back door. The fucking man must be not far off!" he exclaimed giving orders to his followers.

Then he jumps over a tall table that limits the kitchen. Approaching the helpless Grandpa on the floor with his head covered with blood.

"Do you realize who you've been dealing with?"

The grandfather of the shop owner tried to maintain his strength despite the extreme pain after his front head was hit hard by the man who stepped on his body.

"You're wrong. You're the one who's wrong with me." said the grandfather as he clutched the man's arm.

"Boss! Over here is a secret door!!"

The screams of one of his most active followers kept everyone silent for a while.

"Secret door? So that's what you're hiding? You son of aah!

The man immediately kicked his grandfather's head several times with emotion because he felt he was being played by a grandfather. Shame on him, dropping his pride. He kept kicking some parts of his grandfather's body that were even unconscious.

"Boss! Boss!! Calm down!

One of his men told him to stop immediately, because he saw his grandfather's condition which had been seen as concerning. The young man seemed worried that the grandfather would die and would cause another problem.

"Ah … Damn it!! Go after him!" he cried, still trying to contain his emotions.

Richard was still walking in an underground ditch—following yellow flags associated with each wall. Only with his cell phone flashlight, Richard kept walking through a very dark, humid tunnel. That stinking smell of garbage doesn't bother Richard, because he's used to it.

Until suddenly, he heard the cry of someone echoing up to his ear. Suddenly Richard's eyes bulged with fear. It's not wrong, if the thugs who teach have found the secret path that the ramen shop owner hid.

"Oh shit, they're here!"

Trying to speed up his exhausted pace, he didn't get caught. The fear of Grandpa's death may be at the hands of thugs. But Richard still hopes that the Grandfather will survive. That's one reason he can't get caught.

At the end of Richard's path, he saw a glimmer of light from above. He also saw a ladder attached to the wall. Apparently that's where the exit to the city park Grandfather said.

Up the stairs before the thugs can catch up. But the tears that were no longer humbled when he returned to remember the kindness of the Grandfather in his memory. His heart was broken when he imagined that Grandpa had indeed been killed by thugs because of himself.

Richard's getting closer to the light that's on his head. A little door above his head, one of his hands tried to open a door made of very heavy iron. Strengthening his entire arm muscles, Richard managed to open the door.

With no thought, Richard quickly climbs up, and he is astonished to see that his present existence is actually in a city park. There was no time to feel any amazement at this moment, he had to flee immediately to the port to meet Mr. Hudson.

When Richard wants to get back to closing the door, his eyes startle when he sees one of the thugs looking at him from below.

"He's upstairs!! Let's go!!"

Shit, he's been exposed to thugs. However, due to panic Richard immediately slammed the only small-sized door violently, then laid a large stone to stop the thugs from opening the door. After that, Richard ran as fast as he could, before the thugs again found him. This pursuit is the pursuit of his life and death.

"What! He's running away! Damn it!"

Bryant snapped so emotionally that he threw all the stuff on his desk that he scattered.

"What did you do to get him away?! Taking care of just one person you're not good at! Go get him! I don't want to know, you have to catch him alive! Go! Go, you guys! You fish man!"

Bryant continued to curse his men who could not do their job properly until they lost someone who had stolen his precious possessions.

Not wanting to waste time, Bryant rushed off with his personal bodyguard. In a fancy car followed by a couple of bodyguards behind it. Catch up on the guy he was after running through the harbor.

"Hurry up! Hurry! Uhh... Shit! Shit! Shit!"
