Chapter 4-"5000million dollars!

Chapter 4

"5000 million dollars?"

Dave said stunningly.

"You're a rich young man.I think you can pay for your caretaker's hospital bill now."

The shopkeeper said with a beam.

"Yes, that's where I'm heading too, and afterward, I will meet my real Dad."

As Dave and the shopkeeper made their way through the streets, a few individuals couldn't resist the urge to voice their judgment.

Mocking comments and sneers followed them, questioning why the shopkeeper would associate himself with someone dressed in tattered clothes like Dave. "Why are people staring at me? Did I do something wrong?"

Dave muttered to himself.

Their words echoed in the air, creating a momentary cloud of discomfort. Dave, however, remained undeterred by their taunts.

Turning to the shopkeeper, Dave offered a reassuring smile. "Ignore their comments, my friend," he said softly. "Let their words pass by like the wind. We know the truth of who we are and what we stand for."

Amidst the mocking comments, a young woman approached, her face filled with genuine curiosity. She had overheard the remarks and couldn't help but feel drawn to the pair.

"Excuse me," she said, her voice tinged with sincerity. "I couldn't help but overhear those hurtful comments. May I ask why you're walking with Dave?"

The shopkeeper took a deep breath, ready to defend their friendship, but Dave stepped forward with a calm demeanor.

"We walk together because we have learned the power of compassion and forgiveness," he explained. "Appearances may deceive, but it is the content of our character that defines us."

The young woman listened intently, her eyes reflecting a newfound understanding. "I apologize for judging you based on appearances," she said sincerely. "It's clear to me now that there is much more to both of you than meets the eye."

Dave smiled warmly at her, appreciating her willingness to reconsider her initial judgments. "Thank you for your open-mindedness," he replied.

The young woman nodded, a sense of gratitude shining in her eyes. "I've learned a valuable lesson today," she admitted. "Never judge a book by its cover. Your actions speak louder than any superficial judgment."

As Dave and the shopkeeper arrived at the hospital, they were directed to a waiting area. Moments later, the doctor approached them, his face a mix of curiosity and concern. Dave, with an air of confidence, extended his hand toward the doctor, introducing himself.

"Good afternoon, Doctor," Dave greeted with a polite smile. "My name is Dave, and I'm here with Mr. Johnson. I'm here to pay my Dad's hospital bills."

The doctor was shocked by Dave's words.

"You're here to pay that huge amount of money?"

The Doctor asked shockingly.

Dave took a deep breath before speaking. "You see, I recently came here and you told me to come and pay my father's bills.

"I now have the money to pay. I would be glad to see my father today."

Dave said with a beam

Dr. Anderson's eyes widened as he examined the check. The sheer magnitude of the amount took him by surprise. "This... this is a substantial sum," he said, his voice filled with awe. "May I ask where you acquired this money, Dave?"

Dave smiled warmly, his eyes shining with a newfound purpose.

"I understand your curiosity, Doctor. The truth is, Dave has only recently become aware of his hidden legacy, which includes vast wealth that has been passed down through generations."

The shopkeeper said

The doctor's eyebrows furrowed inquisitively. "Hidden legacy? Could you please elaborate?"

The shopkeeper nodded, his voice steady. "Certainly, Doctor. It turns out that Dave's Dad is Mr. President.

Dr. Anderson leaned forward, his interest piqued. "That's quite remarkable, Dave.

"Your father is Mr. President?"

The doctor screamed.

"Yes, Doctor. I will pay the money and leave now because I have a lot to do."

Dave said, and the Doctor looked at him in a stunned way.

"How can I be sure of this ?"

The doctor muttered to himself and narrowed his eyes at the spot of his tattered clothes.

After paying the bills, he went to meet his caretaker and had a conversation with him.

"I'm so sorry for hiding the secret about your Dad's wealth. This is the right time and you've known."

The caretaker said and hugged Dave.

"It's okay Dad, thanks for everything."

Dave said and with a beam ,he left his Dad with Mr Johnson.

Dave's emotions were in turmoil as he absorbed the shocking revelation that his real father was the current President of the country.

"Young man, what do you want?"

The gatekeeper shouted at Dave as he approached the President's gate.

"I'm here to meet the president."

Dave said boldly.

"What?"

"I didn't know anyone at all could meet Mr. President."

The gatekeeper said

"But please, I'm told to be here and that is why I want to meet the President, so let me in."

Dave said but the gatekeeper didn't believe any word.

"I'm the president's son!

Dave said

The gatekeeper laughs it off and mocks Dave.

"How can the president's son dress like this? Just look at yourself well and think about what you said "

The gatekeeper said, still not believing what Dave told him.

Dave stood there, not knowing what to do, he was about to go when a voice from behind echoed

"Young master ."

Dave turned to see Mr.Chen.

"Mr.Chen, I almost went away because of the gatekeeper's behavior."

"Sorry for the embarrassment."

Mr.Chen pleaded with Dave after the gatekeeper asked him to be pardoned.

Mr . Chen led Dave to the house and took him to his Dad's room.

As Dave entered the room, he saw a distinguished man sitting behind a large desk.

His father looked up and a smile of recognition spread across his face. He stood up and warmly embraced Dave, welcoming him into his life.

"My son, I'm glad to finally meet you," his father said, his voice filled with genuine affection. "I apologize for the circumstances that kept us apart, but I assure you, I want to make up for lost time."

Dave was filled with a mix of emotions. He had spent his entire life without knowing his true parentage, and now he was face-to-face with the President of the country, his father.

It was a lot to take in, but he felt a sense of belonging he had never experienced before.

His father continued, "I will make a public announcement soon, introducing you as my son. Until then, I want you to enjoy all the privileges and facilities that come with being part of our family. You will also have the opportunity to take over my company in due time."

"Wow, Dad. I can't wait for that day."

Dave said with a smile, he thanked his Dad and accepted the special badge.

Later that evening, Dave checked into a hotel where he planned to stay for the night. Little did he know that fate had something unexpected in store for him. As he made his way to his room, he noticed a familiar face in the lobby. It was his ex-wife, accompanied by her mother.

"Amelia?"

"Madam Charlotte?"

Dave said stunningly.

As he approached them. His ex-wife looked at him with disdain, a bitter smile playing on her lips. Her mother wore a similar expression, clearly not pleased to see him.

"I can't believe he ended up here too."

Madam Charlotte said with a smirk and her laughter echoed in the place.

His ex-wife spoke in a mocking tone, loud enough for others to hear. "Well, well, look who we have here. Sweeping floors now, are we? Thank God I left you when I did. It seems I made the right choice."

With a polite smile, Dave replied, "No, I'm not a sweeper. I'm here on business, just like you. I've made significant progress in my life, and I'm doing well."

" You better go and sweep and clean else you won't afford to eat today.".

Madam Charlotte said.

" I still can't believe he's denying his work. Just look at his tattered clothes."

Amelia said and laughed.

"Will you pass for us to move? I feel embarrassed to let anyone see me talking with you ."
