Quickly he walked away from the group of students, and headed for a shade.

Seated under a mango tree with its fruits yellow and ripe he looked at his status screen.

"PRIME, show status, with more options".

The say cheese was probably cringing him out which made him not to forget.

"Okay, this is a lot of information; though most of my physical attributes are on par and low".

Mhmm

"Perks ? now that's interesting".

"What's interesting?" A light girly voice asked.

"Huh"

Looking up he could see a pretty petite girl with black hair and pupils staring down at him.

Instinctively he jerked forward, away from the tree. Effortlessly, she swinged herself from the upper branches until she got to a lower one, where she could swing her feet, just above his head.

"Don't do that next time ?" He said.

"Do what?" She asked with a facade of innocence.

Looking at her act, he smirked and said

"Nice one, don't still do it.".

She giggled as she continued to playfully swing her legs while he returned to his previous spot. With his back rested against the trees he broke the silence.

"How long have you been up there ?".

"Before you came here".

"Mhmm".

Turning towards her, his face all serious, he asked:

"What did you hear?"

She looked indifferent as she answered him.

"The ramblings of an idiot".

"Come down for a second please".

She quickly jumped down and he stared at her.

"Who did you just call an idiot".

He was at least one feet taller her, including the fact that she had a small stature.

"umm, did I do something wrong ?" She asked cutely.

Knowing full well that nothing short of manipulation was coming next, he facepalmed and walked away.

"See you later!" She called out to him cheerfully, waving both hands.

'It's safe to say that she doesn't know anything. I have got to speak to it through my mind from now on. Though it feels good to always say it out loud and see the response' he thought to himself while making different faces of emotions associated with his decision.

He walked towards his class, as the first period was about to begin. Walking in through the door, he realized that he was quite on time and not everyone was present yet. Miss Sherly flashed him a cute smile as he walked to his seat.

"Now is there anyone that has learnt how to absorb energy essence yet ? "

No hands were raised as the students looked at one another searching for the golden boy or girl in their midst. She didn't seem disappointed, more like she expected such results. Still smiling, she rephrased her question.

"Is there anyone that has at least gone half way point".

At this moment, half of the class had their hands raised while the others with hands down shifted uncomfortably in their seats. The constant stares by their classmates reminded them of their own incompetence.

"Okay, drop your hands".

"Today, you all would be choosing a class of your choice." She paused briefly, allowing her words to sink in before continuing.

"When I say class, I'm referring to your profession. After you graduate from the academy, it's expected that you either join the government forces, a mercenary group or walk as a freelance beast hunter.".

"Not withstanding the group you join, each member has their specific class, which can make a team either adequate or inadequate. Also, your class can depend on your ability. If for example someone has a light ability, he or she natural class would be a healer. But there have been some exceptions..." Her voice trailed off like she was lost in her thoughts.

The door of the class gently opened as a tall slim man with a low cut and white moustache walked in quietly. Quickly She regained her composure, acknowledged his presence and continued wuth her briefing.

"At the end of this briefing, you all would choose a class that's suitable for you. You would be given two weeks to practice and during this period you could change your class. Do note that at the end of the two weeks, you would need to update your student profile by inputing your chosen class and that would be yours till you graduate from this academy".

"Any questions?"

With no questions from the students, she quickly dismissed them. Immediately, she turned towards the lean man and walked him to her desk as the students left to pick a class and meet their instructors.

BEEP!

Pulling out his gadget, Jake read through the message, which contained the different classes and their primary weapon

[Common]

[Assasin = Dagger]

[Lancers = Lance]

[Archers = Bow and arrow]

[Warrior = Sword and shield]

[Marksman = Gun]

[Healer = Holy Staff]

[Tamers = Flute]

Interesting was the first word that came to his mind. He looked at the list again and wondered which really suited him. He loved the idea of been an assasin but dagger wasn't just his thing. He was no savior, so healer was out , and so was tamers, it looked boring. This left Archers, Lancers and Warrior, cause there was no way he had stand in one place shooting arrows at the enemy; long distance wasn't his forte, especially with his ability that required physical contact.

Finally he settled on the Warrior class and clicked on it. Instantly it was etched on his profile with an option to change. Pulling up a virtual map of the academy ground, he made his way to the Warriors training site.
