After visiting the Wallace Foundation and checking upon its proceedings, Carlos paid a visit to Bob and Charlie to see how they were doing. He told them Thomas would be released soon as he was going to acquire a bail for him. Bob and Charlie were happy to hear that.

After spending a few hours with the kids, Carlos checked how the stock price of the Myers brand was, and it had plummeted significantly. Carlos felt more confident after his strategy had worked and the Myers family lost billions because of it.

He received a call from Samuel Sehla who showered praises upon him and not only spoke with him for half-an-hour but also made Naida talk with him.

It wasn’t easy to deal with their fake praises and bear all the words they kept spewing, but he had no other choice. If the Sehla family were to join the Myers family, Samuel would expose Charles, and that would jeopardize the relationship he had going with Sofia as Charles.

Samuel called Charles for dinner this time, and he gladly obliged

The enhanced senses of Charles acted against him as he climbed up the stairs, for he could hear even the tiniest of sounds coming from the room where some bastard was fucking his wife.By marrying Sofia, Carlos had shot himself in the foot. His career, his ambition, and everything he wished for was taken away from him.Do swines know the value of pearls?Carlos’ pearl of love, pearl of patience, pearl of goodness, and many more pearls forged from his heart were all put to waste because of her.Right now, Charles greatly felt the urge to rip Sofia’s throat. Her moans didn’t help him in any way whatsoever.Charles went toward that room from where the sounds were coming from. The door was closed. He could easily break through it and kill both the people inside, but he kept walking until he stopped in front of an acoustic guitar.Moments later.Sofia was deeply immersed in the supreme heat of sex, and a faint sound reached her ears. It was a tune, which steadily grew on her ears, and she

Cassey had looked everywhere for Pepper, but she couldn’t find it even after laying many traps and waiting for hours. Eventually, she laid a few more traps and went to sleep.Sofia, however, was shivering in her bed, as she couldn’t forget the horrified face of Raven. That picture wasn’t leaving her mind. Forget about sleep, she couldn’t even think of anything else.“Carlos…” she never thought he could kill someone let alone kill Raven like that. “He’s gone crazy, but I won’t let him scare me. I will make him pay dearly for what he’s done! If only he didn’t enter my life, I would have been much happier now.”After scolding Carlos for a few minutes, she felt somewhat better and could then think of other things.“I ran away from there, but that’s Charles’ villa. What if he comes and sees a dead body and thinks I was the one who killed Raven?” her heart started skipping. She quickly called Charles’ mobile.Charles answered a bit late. “Hello, Sofia.”“C-Charles, where are you?”“Mm? You

The one waiting at the door was Narika Myers. At first, a crazy thought flowed through Charles’ mind. What agenda did this woman come here with? Did Sofia send her to check what happened to the dead body? That was definitely possible. However, why would Narika bring her cat alone? That didn’t make any sense, unless it was some sort of a distraction. To add to his confusion, why wasn’t she entering the villa? Why was she standing outside, as if asking for her permission? While Charles called many people and told them about buying a villa, he hadn’t called Narika. Still, she somehow came here directly, so he convinced himself that Narika was sent by Sofia. He slowly walked to the door and tried to smile, but he couldn’t. “Why are you standing outside? Come inside,” he gestured.Pepper jumped out of her arms and ran into the villa. Narika, however, kept staring at him. “I want to tell you one thing,” she said, her hands clasping one another lightly.“Sure, what is it?” He folded his arms

“What’s the sharpest thing in existence?” Charles asked Narika what he believed was a difficult question. If her answer failed to impress him, he could give her that excuse for not taking her along for shopping.“The sharpest thing in existence… huh…” Narika put a piece of meat in her mouth with the help of a fork. The ends of the fork were definitely sharp, but she was sure a needle’s tip could be sharper. What could be sharper than a needle? She wondered and eventually answered, “There are plenty of sharp things, but I think nothing is sharper than a sword made from common sense.”Charles was forced to think. “Common sense protects us from hardships. It has more of a defensive behavior than an offensive one, don’t you think?”“They say the best defense is offense, don’t they?” Narika replied. “An answer well-equipped with common sense will not lack either in sharpness or sturdiness. It has the best of both worlds.”“Mm,” he wasn’t expecting her to give such a complicated answer, whi

Charles’ face stayed pale for quite a while.Narika wasn’t dumb enough to not realize that she perhaps went a little overboard with her words. “If I hurt you, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to insult you. I just wanted to tell you that it’s not difficult to see through a person unless they’re really good at acting.”“It’s okay. I just hope you find the ‘perfect person’ you’re looking for before you grow old,” Charles replied in haste.Narika bit her lip suppressing her smile. “I see what you’re doing. I’m going to find the right man before I turn thirty, and I’ll make you the chief guest of the wedding.”“I look forward to that,” he replied just as fast.“Yeah. Please do,” she nodded to herself and then put her focus back on driving, though not for long. “By the way, are you planning to marry my sis, or are you thinking of having a live-in relationship? I mean, she’s still not divorced yet. Do you know that? Wait, I think I already told you, didn’t I?”Charles didn’t say anything.Narika ju

Narika bought different varieties of processed fish meat and also fish fry from a local shop, all for her pet black cat, Pepper. This much food would last at least a couple of weeks for Pepper, so it was sort of a giveaway that Narika was planning to spend many days in the Ant Villa.Charles wasn’t too sure with how he should feel about it.After reaching the villa and feeding the cat, Narika settled on the couch and watched television. She was a TV-addict, which he knew. He sat on a different couch and also watched along with her.On screen, a love movie was playing, and the main leads were dating. Charles got quickly pulled into the scene, but Narika cringed and changed the channel.“Why did you change the channel?” Charles asked, almost shocked.“C’mon, they are dating,” Narika shook her head. “It’s super-cringey.”“No, it’s not.”“Yes, it is.”“No, it’s not.”“Yes, it very much is,” she didn’t back down.“Just because you’ve never dated anyone, you can’t say it’s cringey,” he reto

The police entered the villa without permission or a warrant. They searched everywhere and found drugs in a couple of rooms. In truth, they never found cocaine and heroin in the villa. They were the ones who put these drugs there.Still, they arrested Charles and took him away.Narika could only watch in shock. She wondered if Charles would hire a lawyer, or if she should help him. However, not long after Charles was taken away, a black benz entered the villa. Victoria stepped out of the car, shocking Narika.Narika immediately shut the main door. “Go away, Mom! I don’t want to see your face anymore.”“Open the door, Narika,” though Victoria was angry, she tried to speak calmly. “Is this how you treat your mother?”“I don’t want to talk with you, so just leave! I’m never returning home!” Narika yelled.“Charles is not coming back,” Victoria said, startling her daughter. “I will make sure he’ll grow old behind bars and never get to roam in the streets again.”“Why are you going to such

A young man dashed through the streets on a ducati superleggera bike which was light and fast as a bird. Everybody kept looking at the bike as it swiftly snaked through the traffic, without needing to slow down all that much. The bike eventually reached Ant Villa. The gates were open, as if inviting him, so he entered. He took his helmet off, revealing a handsome face. His chiseled face and long, curly hair would skip any woman’s heartbeat. He briefly looked at the villa. Though the lawn wasn’t big, it looked simple on the eyes. “Not bad. I want to buy this place if possible.” He reached the door and knocked on it.Moments later, the door opened. Seeing Narika, his face brightened. She looked at him from top to bottom because he was in a biker’s suit, and he was tall, young, and quite good to look at. She had never seen this man before. (He’s taller than Charles. He should be close to 2 meters.) “Ahem, I’m sorry. The owner of the villa isn’t here.”“It’s okay. I’m here for you,” he ha

The next morning.Victoria woke up and did not receive a bed coffee. She went to the kitchen, only to find a letter there on the fridge.Cassey had written a letter and disappeared. In the letter, she thanked Victoria for her care, and apologized for leaving this way because she knew Victoria wouldn’t let her go otherwise.“The bats must have really scared her,” Victoria couldn’t really blame Cassey, but she was still angry that Cassey left without even telling directly to her face. “If she comes back running after a few months, I won’t take her in.”On the other hand, Gregory, having lost his argument with Victoria the previous night, brought a black magician to chase the bats away. However, they didn’t know this black magician was a fake. But that would probably be not proven because the bats would no longer attack the mansion from here onward.Sofia told her mother to prepare her multiple masks, one of which looked like Cassey, and others that looked like different people, including

Many minutes passed since Sofia and others got stuck in the smelly basement filled with rat poop and what not. Moreover, these rats were the size of cats. From having eaten all kinds of roots and seeds in the garden, they grew very bulky, and they did not fear these four humans. They were more arrogant than the Myers themselves, as if they were the real owners of this place! As everyone waited with bated breaths, about an hour or so later, the music stopped. The sound of bats leaving reached their ears.“Did they leave?” Sofia wondered. She told Cassey to check on it, but Cassey was still feeling her wounds. She refused to go out. They waited a few minutes before coming out. To their relief, the bats were gone, and so did the guitar, but they didn’t care about the guitar.“Our mansion must be cursed,” Victoria looked at Gregory. “Do something.”“What do you want me to do? Bring some black magicians?” he yelled in frustration.“I don’t know! Just make sure they won’t even come near our

In the middle of the night, Sofia was rolling around and slapping her arms every now and then because bugs were biting her. There was no fan or AC in this cottage. All she had was a hand fan, and her arms had grown heavy from waving the fan. Now, she was completely drenched in sweat, and this made it all the more difficult for her to properly sleep. She got up from the couch and shook her dress before walking out of the cottage. She could see the mansion in the distance. The words her mother told her a day ago came to her mind.“After the wedding was stopped, we didn’t care about anything. But your sister went to the catering guys and told them to give the food to the homeless. They went and freely distributed the food throughout the city in our family’s name,” Victoria showed the details in the newspaper. “This is good for us because the public opinion will surely improve after this incident. We’re doing our best to make those videos Carlos showed at the wedding are fake. Even if som

Sofia was too stunned to even talk or blink for that matter. Seeing Carlos had frozen her to the core.“C-Carlos!” Victoria shouted like a pig walking on broken glass. “Why are you disguised as Charles? What have you done to him? Where is he?”“He’s… standing right before you,” Carlos raised the face mask in his hand. “I’m Carlos. And I’m Charles.”Victoria’s eyes grew wider than the seas. The wine glass in her hand fell.“I’m Carlos Wallce. I’m Charles Wallace,” Carlos added. “I’m the guy that has been treated like a trash, not worth her time, by Sofia no matter how much I tried to please her, and I’m also the guy that she has fallen for because she believed she deserved me when I was a gambler who earns in millions every match.”Sofia still kept stupidly staring in gut-busting shock. Why are you marrying Sofia?”Charles maintained a straight face. “You will know soon.”“What do you mean I’ll know soon?” Laurel frowned.“That’s all I can say. If you leave, I’ll prepare for the wedding,” Charles said.Laurel clenched her fist. “I hate you, Charles. I wish I never met you.” Holding her tears back, she rushed out of the room.Charles pursed his lips and took a deep breath. Many years ago, when he was very young, he was alone. Even after these years, that didn’t seem to have changed as he didn’t have anyone that would walk beside him.Charles was aimlessly walking, and he noticed a few men trying to look from an old beggar. They managed to take more than a hundred dollars from the beggar, but they still wanted more, and they began to rip his clothes, trying to see if he was hiding the money elsewhere. The beggar was old and weak, so he couldn’t fight back against the two youngsters.Charles approached from behind and grabbed their necks. They couldn’t move their necks, not even a little.“Give his money back,” Charles uttered, putting a bit more strength into his grip, and the youngsters quickly dropped the money.
