CHAPTER 195

The stress made Victoria hate everything. Whether it’s the food that Cassey made, or the noises that the squirrels made in the garden, nothing pleased her. Not only did she scold Cassey, she also told the maid to kill the squirrels.

Her exact words were this: I want them on my dinner plate tonight!

Cassey had done many things in the past that she couldn’t be proud of, so killing a bunch of squirrels shouldn’t be a difficult job for her, but she had fed these little animals a few times, so when they came running to the bowl of gooseberries, she couldn’t catch them, knowing that Victoria would happily eat them for dinner.

Instead, she gave them extra food so they would hide in their homes and wouldn’t come outside for a while. This was the best she could do.
