“I didn’t think he’d be this powerful…” Thomas’ eyes stayed wide-opened, as he witnessed through the cracked glass in the door. The thirty vampires were utterly destroyed into bits and pieces. “He’s almost controlling gasoline as it’s his own blood. I’m not seeing things, or am I?”

Carlos, however, seemed like he had actually gained strength from the explosion, which sent a shiver down Thomas' spine to say the least.

“I-I’m glad that I picked his side,” Thomas thought. “If he can keep at it, there won’t be any need for us to even interfere, but… in a one vs many, anything can happen. Instead of putting him through a risky fight, it’s better to be on the safe side.”

Most of the ceiling had cracked and collapsed. Carlos punched the weakened ceiling and destroyed it. He flew up and landed on the ground floor inside the factory. In the distance, Leslie and Samantha were grinding their teeth at him.

Samantha clapped twice, and the 68 remaining vampires standing outside the factory rushed i

Carlos was overwhelmed, not just because more than sixty vampires were literally trying to rip him apart but also because the white bony cage continuously sucked his energy. It was a skill that Samantha had learned from Butcher Bones. In fact, she had been granted the power to use that skill, and she believed that she had just put it to good use.Inside that sturdy white cage, Carlos couldn’t control his blood. He couldn’t use his abilities. In fact, he was losing his awakened form and was beginning to turn into his human form.“What’s going on?” Leslie looked a little confused. “Why isn’t he fighting back? Isn’t he super-awakened or something?”“He might have awakened his blood, but he’s still a Blood Sucker,” Samantha indifferently said. “He’s nothing compared to our boss, Butcher, who’s a Life Leecher. The fundamental difference in their abilities in itself is something that can’t ever be made up for. Otherwise, the Slaughter Squad would have long killed him and eaten him piece to

What did Carlos do?How did he make Leslie’s tongue explode?Samantha had no answer for that, but what she knew was that she had to kill Carlos before he got any stronger.“We may not be awakened like you, but we are battle-hardened unlike you, Charles!” Samantha crossed her arms and made a slashing gesture with both arms, sending out the gauntlet like a spider web, trying to capture Carlos. The web traveled fast, but perhaps she acted out of panic. Carlos, who was looking at Samantha, was able to easily dodge from the web. However, Thomas, who was right behind him, got caught in it. And he began to scream. “Help me!”Carlos didn’t have the time to help Thomas, but the other vampires that Thomas hired hurried to him and tried to cut the web and free him.Carlos and Samantha clawed at each other like crazed beasts that didn’t care about what was happening around them. They tore each other’s flesh and sprayed blood everywhere as they moved around like streaks of light. They were so fast

Carlos had already spent a lot of energy during this fight, but when Leslie hugged him from behind and tried to restrict his movements so that Samantha could get a proper shot at piercing his heart, Carlos’ blood rushed like never before. He howled like a crazed beast and swiveled at the last second.Samantha’s eyes widened because her sword thrust right through Leslie’s heart first. She didn’t stop there and pushed the sword even further using all her strength, thus managing to pierce through Carlos’ heart as well. Both Leslie and Carlos coughed blood and collapsed forward. Leslie fell right on top of him.Samantha was huffing and puffing. She moved Leslie’s body to the side and could see her eyes, and Leslie’s eyes went back to normal and had no life in them. She already died. “I’m sorry, Leslie.” Samantha had known Leslie from a very young age, but she had to sacrifice her best friend to kill a monster, or so she believed. “I will tell Boss Butcher that your contribution was great

This wasn’t the first time that Butcher had received threats, but surely, this was the first time that he received a threat from someone who was weaker than him.“How dare a mere bloodsucker think he can win against me!” he smacked the box to the side. Samantha and Leslie’s heads rolled on the floor.“It seems I’ve lost my Slaughter Squad, which is completely unacceptable,” Butcher gritted his teeth. He was more worried about other powerful vampires attacking him because of him losing his squad. “Should I just go into hiding for the time being and come back when I have built a new squad?”Butcher haven’t been put under this kind of pressure in a long while.“Charles Wallace… I don’t know who’s behind you, but I’m going to kill you and everyone that’s backing you!” He smashed the table in anger and destroyed it. “I’ll hang your head in the underground city for all vampires to look at!”Meanwhile, in Myers mansion.Sofia was eating granola because she was trying to lose a bit of her wei

Charles had been looking for Butcher everywhere. From one end of the city to the other, he went through every gang and hideout he knew. From the Snake gang that was influential in the north to the Bluestone mafia down the south, he didn’t leave anyone unquestioned. However, all of them couldn’t give him any valuable information.Charles spent a few days in Bones’ hospital as a patient suffering from stomach illness. He used his enhanced sense of hearing to see if he could find anybody talking about Butcher, but he didn’t get the results he wanted.“Just where did he disappear?”Charles couldn’t help but feel anxious.“Maybe, I shouldn’t have sent him such a blatant warning.”Fighting an enemy directly was one thing, but if Butcher were to attack him using other vampires while keeping himself hidden, things would get unnecessarily dragged and complex for Charles who was tired of even thinking about Butcher. The reason he was tortured by Samantha and Leslie in the first place was becaus

“Your recovery time indicates your fitness,” Akira told Charles as they were going in a taxi. The driver thought that she was cosplaying some fictional character or something. “You don’t have any injuries even though it hasn’t been long since you fought the Slaughter Squad. This is a very good sign. I think you can definitely stand your ground against a life sucker’s attacks.”Akira’s words boosted Charles’ confidence. “I heard they can suck the lifespan out of us. Is that true?”“Yep. But I believe that you can resist it better than I do.”“Oh.. but, wait, you haven’t awakened your blood, right?” Charles couldn’t help but ask. “How can you resist against Butcher then?”“Well, the black cloak I’m wearing is not your ordinary cloak, so… that’s how,” she casually replied.“Oh, okay.” To Charles, her cloak looked normal. “Tell me more about the city. What kind of people live there?”Akira glanced at the rearview mirror and made contact with the driver’s eyes and hypnotized him to focus o

An underground city.Charles thought it would be more like a dungeon with a ceiling like that of a cave. However, when the elevator’s doors opened, he felt like he was in a world of its own. A dark world, where flame torches were the only sources of light.Regular humans wouldn’t be able to see past what the light allowed them to, but Charles was different. He was able to see everything that this place had to offer. The ceiling was thousands of feet high. And there were star-like structures embedded into the stone ceiling, though they weren’t glowing at the moment. It was like they were inside a dome, and the city before him was pretty big, too. He couldn’t see the end, but the bar owner kept bragging about the city and told them that it was over 16,000 square kilometers in area, and at the center of it, about 300 square kilometers was where the citizens lived. The rest of the area around the city was allocated to chimeric beasts.Currently, they were at the inner circle, where the Be

Akira left, and Charles took ten minutes to successfully disintegrate the food items into dust. However, he didn’t know what to do with the blood bottles.“Akira didn’t say anything about what I should do with these…” He was already used to drinking human blood using blood packets, but then Akira told him that the blood in these bottles was also mixed with aphrodisiacs. What she didn’t tell him, however, was that there was a lot more to this blood than Charles knew. There were three stars on the bottle, which meant that the blood was extracted after torturing and frightening a person for three lunations. So, the blood would taste much sweeter for the vampires, and vampires could easily get addicted to this sort of blood which generally wasn’t available anywhere else in the country. Thus, most vampires would choose to stay in this city for longer durations, which would benefit the economy of the city.Charles poured the blood in the bottles straight in the toilet, then flushed it with

The next morning.Victoria woke up and did not receive a bed coffee. She went to the kitchen, only to find a letter there on the fridge.Cassey had written a letter and disappeared. In the letter, she thanked Victoria for her care, and apologized for leaving this way because she knew Victoria wouldn’t let her go otherwise.“The bats must have really scared her,” Victoria couldn’t really blame Cassey, but she was still angry that Cassey left without even telling directly to her face. “If she comes back running after a few months, I won’t take her in.”On the other hand, Gregory, having lost his argument with Victoria the previous night, brought a black magician to chase the bats away. However, they didn’t know this black magician was a fake. But that would probably be not proven because the bats would no longer attack the mansion from here onward.Sofia told her mother to prepare her multiple masks, one of which looked like Cassey, and others that looked like different people, including

Many minutes passed since Sofia and others got stuck in the smelly basement filled with rat poop and what not. Moreover, these rats were the size of cats. From having eaten all kinds of roots and seeds in the garden, they grew very bulky, and they did not fear these four humans. They were more arrogant than the Myers themselves, as if they were the real owners of this place! As everyone waited with bated breaths, about an hour or so later, the music stopped. The sound of bats leaving reached their ears.“Did they leave?” Sofia wondered. She told Cassey to check on it, but Cassey was still feeling her wounds. She refused to go out. They waited a few minutes before coming out. To their relief, the bats were gone, and so did the guitar, but they didn’t care about the guitar.“Our mansion must be cursed,” Victoria looked at Gregory. “Do something.”“What do you want me to do? Bring some black magicians?” he yelled in frustration.“I don’t know! Just make sure they won’t even come near our

In the middle of the night, Sofia was rolling around and slapping her arms every now and then because bugs were biting her. There was no fan or AC in this cottage. All she had was a hand fan, and her arms had grown heavy from waving the fan. Now, she was completely drenched in sweat, and this made it all the more difficult for her to properly sleep. She got up from the couch and shook her dress before walking out of the cottage. She could see the mansion in the distance. The words her mother told her a day ago came to her mind.“After the wedding was stopped, we didn’t care about anything. But your sister went to the catering guys and told them to give the food to the homeless. They went and freely distributed the food throughout the city in our family’s name,” Victoria showed the details in the newspaper. “This is good for us because the public opinion will surely improve after this incident. We’re doing our best to make those videos Carlos showed at the wedding are fake. Even if som

Where is he?”“He’s… standing right before you,” Carlos raised the face mask in his hand. “I’m Carlos. And I’m Charles.”Victoria’s eyes grew wider than the seas. The wine glass in her hand fell.“I’m Carlos Wallce. I’m Charles Wallace,” Carlos added. “I’m the guy that has been treated like a trash, not worth her time, by Sofia no matter how much I tried to please her, and I’m also the guy that she has fallen for because she believed she deserved me when I was a gambler who earns in millions every match.”Sofia still kept stupidly staring in gut-busting shock. Even after these years, that didn’t seem to have changed as he didn’t have anyone that would walk beside him.Charles was aimlessly walking, and he noticed a few men trying to look from an old beggar. They couldn’t move their necks, not even a little.“Give his money back,” Charles uttered, putting a bit more strength into his grip, and the youngsters quickly dropped the money.
