Charles pushed himself into entering the store, where a young woman was on the floor, with her back against the desk and her body pierced by half-a-dozen bullets. Her lifeless eyes were looking right at the entrance, where he stood.

Her eyes were still open from the shock. There was no life in her eyes. Her heart had also stopped beating. There was no saving her.

He remembered her talk with her, and it was her who made him wear the cape and mask and told him he looked good. Though he didn’t give her his number when she had asked him, he hoped she would find a partner who would take good care of her. Now, he felt like a fool.

Clenching fists, he went up to her, squatted down and closed her eyes. “I’m sorry, Sophie. If only I took things more seriously…”

If only he had acted when the Four Harassers had tried to kill him, this wouldn’t have happened. It was either his laziness or his lack of looking at the bigger picture that resulted in Sophie’s death.

He bit his lower lip so hard,

The next morning. The news reported that the Four Harassers suffered lockup deaths, killing each other over an argument. As for the deaths that had taken place on the streets, the blame was put on the terrorists. However, there wasn’t a single mention of the man in a red mask and a cape, neither on the television nor in the newspapers. In a random church, an old pastor was giving his Sunday speech. “All people are flawed, but some are deeply flawed, and these people make relationships suffocating. For instance, take those whose understanding of love is very limited. They will stick to you if you take them shopping and buy them things, but when you stop giving them what they want, they won't ever let you come near them. Unfortunately, these kind of deeply-flawed people make the same mistake over and over again, some knowingly and some unknowingly. What should you do if you’re in a relationship with such a person? You can’t fight with a fool, so you either walk away, or you pray.” Cha

At Ducksbelly. A classy BMW stopped, and a tall Croatian actress gracefully stepped out and tossed the keys into the hands of a valet and swanned her way into the luxury restaurant. “It’s Sofia Bacic!” even the rich customers who frequented the restaurant were surprised. The workers also murmured. “Isn’t she the model who made millions from her sex tape years ago?” Sofia sat at a table and waited. “Who’s she waiting for?” many wondered. Charles was also looking at her with a rigid expression, but when Laurel entered the scene, he stood and smiled before sitting at the same time she did. “You didn’t order anything?” she asked, as the table was empty. “Ladies first,” he replied, slightly tilting his head. She chuckled. “Alright.” She then ordered over a dozen top-quality items for both of them. As they waited, the whispers of other customers made their heads turn toward the table where Sofia Bacic was. Now, a man in a rich deep blue suit was giving company to Sofia. Laurel noti

Charles returned to his room and rested on his bed. His heart was beating slowly and heavily. A shade of gloom covered his face. Just after the lunch had finished, Laurel gave him an envelope. He opened it. There were pictures of Sofia meeting other guys at various restaurants and clubs. That was a shocker for him, even though he knew what type of woman she was. “She’s been doing this for months,” Laurel said, almost in a pitying tone, “and you’re just one of the many. I’ve heard that her husband also ran away, though they tell the world a different story.” Laurel’s words deeply hurt his heart as well as his pride. He felt foolish for thinking he could already be Sofia’s priority given how she came after him. “I didn’t want to show you this right now,” Laurel continued, “but I wanted you to know how most of the rich women are. I’m different, though. I’m seeking for that one person I know I should adjust with and put some of my comforts aside if necessary, but I doubt Sofia comes

Sofia had always put Carlos through physical and mental abuse. Moreover, she had the audacity to say ‘Whatever you’re going through, I’m going through worse after marrying you.’ He used to be an alpha of sorts, but her lies and manipulation repeated often enough ended up dissolving his confidence as if it was never there to begin with. His heart had slowly eroded after marriage. It might never fully recover again, but right now, Carlos was on the mission to get it back on the right track. There was a saying ‘eye for an eye,’ and Carlos took it as ‘dick for dick.’ He offered Officer Bernard to cut his own dick for a million dollars. Instant payment. Bernard, however, didn’t seem too eager to do that. He threatened Carlos he would deal with him outside the hospital and left. Carlos took his sweet time to deal with the things in the hospital. He left a drop of his blood in Thomas’ mouth. After testing on rats, he found that his blood had healing properties. He could have given more bl

Bless the bitch with vengeance! Bless the bitch with vengeance! Bless the bitch with vengeance! An almost creepy voice kept whispering and cackling in Carlos’ head ever since he came home and tried to get some sleep. Again, sleeping at night was proving extremely difficult for him with every passing day. He could feel his blood burning the heart as it urged for vengeance. His body usually felt cold during nighttime, but tonight, it was hot. He could feel his blood strengthening his bones and muscles. He was probably going through a transformation. “Even though I haven’t drunk blood today, I can still feel the blood issuing forth out of my heart, giving energy to the rest of the body. Is it because I was stabbed in the heart? Does that make me stronger?” he could only wonder. Since he wasn’t getting sleep, he experimented on rats that night. He poured excess blood on a rat, and it went bat-shit crazy. “Damn… if I had given extra blood to Thomas, he would have become like this, too?

Xin was yawning, but his long yawn was disturbed when a mosquito flew into his nose and made him sneeze and cough at the same time. It was really a jarring experience, and it brought tears to his eyes. “Damn these motherfucking mozzies! These greedy blood suckers!” He cursed the mosquitoes and swatted them away. “I applied the repellent cream that cost me 60 cens, but some of these mozzies are too desperate. Maybe if I wear a vampire costume, they’ll be afraid of me? Nah, the vampires in movies are probably inspired from these little buggers. ” Four black vehicles stopped by. “Mm?” Xin couldn’t see who was inside because of their shady windows. Still, he got up lazily from his seat. If he were to help them and receive a handsome tip in return, it would be good for him. He knocked on the window of the first car. “Are you looking for directions, sir?” Seconds later, the window lowered. “Is this the apartment where SFF Charles stays?” asked the big guy sitting closest to Xin. “Charle

The deaths at the apartment were reported by the news channels as the work of a psycho killer. Sofia’s agent, Roger, was also found dead in his room, and it was reported that he committed suicide. Raven had visited the places of every target and killed them, except for four. Actress Reena wasn’t home, so he couldn’t kill her. Besides, he had his own plans for her. Instead of killing her, he wanted her to make her a sex kitten and use her to satisfy the desires of the rich politicians, businessman and what not. Reena had such popularity, after all. The second target he couldn’t finish was Selena Sterling. He had gone to the Sterling villa with the intention to kill her, and he sent three men into the villa, but none of them returned. Instead of rushing in, he left the place, thinking he should find out more about the Sterlings before going after them with a greater force. The third target Raven couldn’t finish was the Myers’ family. They were too rich, and how could their daughters

The sounds the intense kissing of Raven and Sofia made stirred Carlos’ blood. He grabbed a broom and thrust it right in their faces as they were kissing. And both of them got a ‘broomful’ of filth in their mouths. An onion peel entered Sofia’s mouth, and she was so disgusted by it, she ended up vomiting, though only saliva came out. Sofia wouldn’t have kissed just any man in public. Only after researching about Raven’s identity and finding out that he was the first son of Butcher Bones, the head of Black Feathers, the mafia gang that owned the country, she made her move boldly. Raven, on the other hand, loved getting extra attention from Sofia because of Carlos’ existence. She was the defying type who would require extra persuasion to get her to kiss you or hug you. And Raven loved that kind of a woman. Moreover, she was an actress and was the daughter of a billionaire. If he were to marry her, he could not only get all the clothing for his mafia members for free, but he could use t

The next morning.Victoria woke up and did not receive a bed coffee. She went to the kitchen, only to find a letter there on the fridge.Cassey had written a letter and disappeared. In the letter, she thanked Victoria for her care, and apologized for leaving this way because she knew Victoria wouldn’t let her go otherwise.“The bats must have really scared her,” Victoria couldn’t really blame Cassey, but she was still angry that Cassey left without even telling directly to her face. “If she comes back running after a few months, I won’t take her in.”On the other hand, Gregory, having lost his argument with Victoria the previous night, brought a black magician to chase the bats away. However, they didn’t know this black magician was a fake. But that would probably be not proven because the bats would no longer attack the mansion from here onward.Sofia told her mother to prepare her multiple masks, one of which looked like Cassey, and others that looked like different people, including

Many minutes passed since Sofia and others got stuck in the smelly basement filled with rat poop and what not. Moreover, these rats were the size of cats. From having eaten all kinds of roots and seeds in the garden, they grew very bulky, and they did not fear these four humans. They were more arrogant than the Myers themselves, as if they were the real owners of this place! As everyone waited with bated breaths, about an hour or so later, the music stopped. The sound of bats leaving reached their ears.“Did they leave?” Sofia wondered. She told Cassey to check on it, but Cassey was still feeling her wounds. She refused to go out. They waited a few minutes before coming out. To their relief, the bats were gone, and so did the guitar, but they didn’t care about the guitar.“Our mansion must be cursed,” Victoria looked at Gregory. “Do something.”“What do you want me to do? Bring some black magicians?” he yelled in frustration.“I don’t know! Just make sure they won’t even come near our

In the middle of the night, Sofia was rolling around and slapping her arms every now and then because bugs were biting her. There was no fan or AC in this cottage. All she had was a hand fan, and her arms had grown heavy from waving the fan. Now, she was completely drenched in sweat, and this made it all the more difficult for her to properly sleep. She got up from the couch and shook her dress before walking out of the cottage. She could see the mansion in the distance. The words her mother told her a day ago came to her mind.“After the wedding was stopped, we didn’t care about anything. But your sister went to the catering guys and told them to give the food to the homeless. They went and freely distributed the food throughout the city in our family’s name,” Victoria showed the details in the newspaper. “This is good for us because the public opinion will surely improve after this incident. We’re doing our best to make those videos Carlos showed at the wedding are fake. Even if som

The wine glass in her hand fell.“I’m Carlos Wallce. Many years ago, when he was very young, he was alone. Even after these years, that didn’t seem to have changed as he didn’t have anyone that would walk beside him.Charles was aimlessly walking, and he noticed a few men trying to look from an old beggar. They managed to take more than a hundred dollars from the beggar, but they still wanted more, and they began to rip his clothes, trying to see if he was hiding the money elsewhere. The beggar was old and weak, so he couldn’t fight back against the two youngsters.Charles approached from behind and grabbed their necks. They couldn’t move their necks, not even a little.“Give his money back,” Charles uttered, putting a bit more strength into his grip, and the youngsters quickly dropped the money.
