Chapter 9

Once they were inside the house, Sophie led Leonardo up the staircase and into her room. She shut the door carefully behind them.

“What do you want to talk about?” Leonardo asked, glancing at his wristwatch out of habit. He didn't want to be here.

The memories of the last time he was in this room, prickled his skin and only made him angry. This was the same room where he was humiliated by a wife he thought was in love with him and a best friend he thought was loyal.

“Are you in a hurry?” She batted her long lashes at him and a small flirty smile played on her lips. Leonardo looked away, ignoring her flirtatious acts and keeping his cold looks on.

If she thought he was stupid enough to fall for her tricks, then she was dumb. He was no longer the weak and foolish Leonardo that she used to know.

“Listen, Sophie. I am not here for long talks. I only agreed to come in and have a conversation with you because you begged me to. I have somewhere really important to be at.”
