ANDREW
The hot chicken soup shocked his almost dirty but handsome face with steam, carrying it with his bare hands without caring about the burns he would get from it. Andrew, a man with a rugged appearance and faded shoulder shirts, pushed open the door with a warm smile. "I brought your favorite chicken soup, Dora," he said, his smile spreading from ear to ear. However, as he scanned the room, his eyes froze on the empty bed, and his heart sank. "Dora! Where is Dora?" he exclaimed, his mind racing with panic. Just a few weeks ago, his daughter had been diagnosed with kidney failure, which had been ravaging her tiny body. His wife, Lisa, had been working tirelessly to pay off the mounting bills, while Andrew did his best to assist with the expenses. Shaking off his thoughts, Andrew rushed out of the room, his face drenched in cold sweat. "What could have happened to her?" he wondered, his mind filled with dread. "No, no, nothing bad has happened to Dora," he assured himself, trying to stay calm. As he paced anxiously, he spotted the doctor walking towards him with a somber expression that sent shivers down his spine. **** "Early as always," Doctor Williams said with a smile, trying to calm Andrew down, but his anxious expression betrayed his reassuring words. "Where is Dora? Tell me!" Andrew almost yelled, his mind racing with worry. "I advise you to calm down, Mr. Genius. Dora is fine, at least for now," the doctor said, his tone deepening as he spoke, his voice measured and calm. "She went into a coma this morning, and although we were able to revive her, we cannot delay her surgery any further. We need to act quickly, as her condition is critical." Andrew's heart skipped a beat as he processed the doctor's words. "Days? Not even a month or weeks?" he thought aloud. "Three days is the longest I can assume," the doctor added with a deep sigh, his expression somber. "I knew it would come to this, but I didn't think it would be so soon," Doctor Williams said, his voice tinged with sadness. "We've got to hold on until payment is made. Her bills are already overdue, and that's the most I can do." Andrew's voice was low and concerned. "How much?" "The total amount needed to cover the bills is five hundred dollars," the doctor replied. "However, if we're looking at a deposit for further treatment, we're talking about three hundred thousand dollars." Andrew was taken aback, stunned by the enormous amount. It was a fortune, and he knew it would take a while to come up with such a sum. A thought suddenly occurred to him. When he first heard about the delayed surgery, he offered to donate his kidney to reduce the transplant cost. Knowing the process would be expensive, he started saving up by taking on various odd jobs, no matter how difficult. He even took out a loan, but his limited assets weren't enough to cover the bills. With a desperate tone, he pleaded with the doctor once again. "Doctor, please, can you reduce the initial deposit to two hundred and fifty thousand dollars? I'll try my best to find the rest as soon as possible," Andrew pleaded, almost begging on his knees. Doctor Williams thought for a moment, rubbing his hands on his head, before finally responding, "Alright, that works for me." He smiled reassuringly. Andrew let out a sigh of relief as soon as he heard the doctor's words. "Thank you so much, Doctor! You have no idea what you've done for me. I'm truly grateful," he said, pulling out a small card from his pocket and handing it over. "I'll do anything to save my daughter," he added, feeling fulfilled that he could at least proudly do something good for his daughter this once. The doctor nodded and took the card from Andrew, walking over to the terminal to process the payment. However, instead of the expected confirmation, a red light flashed, and the words "Insufficient funds" appeared on the screen. Andrew's heart skipped a beat as he felt utterly confused as to how his money had vanished. He was certain that he had deposited enough money into the account, and it should have been more than enough to cover the initial deposit. A lump formed in his throat as he struggled to comprehend the situation. "How is this possible?" he asked, his voice laced with concern. He was sure that he had checked his account balance recently, and it should have had a sufficient amount. Doctor Williams tried to reassure him, "Don't worry, let's check your balance instead and see what's going on." The doctor reinserted the card and checked the balance, revealing that Andrew had only a few cents left in the account. Andrew's heart raced as he began to panic. He knew that only two people had access to this account - him and his wife. With time running out and his daughter's life on the line, Andrew couldn't afford to waste any more time. He dashed out of the doctor's office and rushed back to the mansion to know exactly what was going on. The Hooke family Villa was a dying one, that was once filled with all the luxuries that anyone could think of. A few years ago, the sudden and unexpected change in the economy led to the downfall of their stocks, and currently, they were an average family trying to recover from the financial crash they had fallen into, but it wasn't easy. Andrew walked in, only to be met with a deadly glare from his wife that made him take a step back. It was obvious that from the redness on her face, she had been crying again, and this time, he couldn't tell exactly why. "Fool! What have you done? Have you gotten yourself fired again? Do you think I'm going to take care of all the bills you keep piling up?" she blurted out her frustration. It was clear that something terrible might have happened at work again, but he didn't dare dive into the details at that moment. Before she left the office, her boss had sent her a letter to meet him at the Music hotel that night. He was ready to pay her five hundred thousand dollars instantly after the night and even give her a promotion. But she wasn't stupid and she knew exactly what he wanted to do with her. However, there was a consequence to her refusal. If she wasn't there by seven o'clock, then it would only mean that she was no longer interested to work in the company hence, she would not be allowed to work there anymore. Her heart sank immediately she heard these words knowing how much she needed the job but could not get herself to sleep with her young boss. "It's about Dora." He said calmly. Her face lit up almost immediately staring at him. "Dora! What about her?" She was impatient, the anxiety in her voice was visibly growing by the minute. "She urgently needs surgery, but when I tried to access our account, I discovered it was empty," Andrew said, holding up the card. His wife's eyes widened in shock, and she exclaimed, "What! Oh no!" Before Andrew could explain, she erupted in anger. "What have you done?!" she shouted, her veins bulging with rage. "You've gambled away our money, haven't you?! And now you're trying to feed me some ridiculous lie, expecting me to believe it?" Her voice was trembling with fury, and her eyes turned red with anger. Andrew was stunned to hear him speak this way. She knew that if anyone was to gamble, it would never be him. "I didn't gamble away the money, I swear!" Andrew protested, but his wife's anger only intensified. "You're a liar!" she thundered, her voice shaking with rage. "You're a snake who's been deceiving me all along! I regret the night I met you, the night I was drunk and ended up in your arms. I regret losing my financial independence and marrying you. I regret it all!" Tears streamed down her face as she spoke, her words cutting deep into Andrew's soul. He stood there, stunned and disbelieving, as Lisa's words hung in the air like a challenge. "How could you do this to our child?" she continued, her voice cracking with emotion. "Even if our marriage was a mistake, why would you make our daughter suffer so much?" Lisa collapsed back in her seat, exhausted by her outburst. Andrew stood there, frozen in shock, unable to comprehend the depth of her anger and hurt. He couldn't believe she would think him capable of such a thing, and yet, her words had pierced his heart like a dagger. Andrew attempted to comfort Lisa by placing his hands on her shoulders, but she violently shook them off. "Don't you dare touch me with your dirty hands again!" she spat, her anger boiling over. Just then, the sound of clicking heels and additional footsteps filled the room. A new voice spoke up, "He didn't take the money. It was us." The couple's eyes widened in shock as the speaker continued, "He left his phone behind, and the doctor called. I knew he would try to access the account, so we took the money out after finding the details in your belongings." Andrew and Lisa were stunned, their minds reeling from this sudden revelation. They exchanged disbelieving glances, struggling to process the truth behind the mysterious voice's words. Two people stepped into the room, Lady Gaga, Lisa's mother and her father, Mr. Henry. "Mum? What did you just say?" She inquired, confused. "You heard me right." She said, "We took the money." "All through the years, your husband has only given us peanuts as allowance after our business ran bankrupt because he is poor and unable to make good money, only eating up all our food like a better! Just look at the house that you are living in at the moment, this is a disgrace and the money we took is even nothing compared to all that we have done for him." She took two steps forward towards Lisa and continued. "We heard about the savings and searched for the password. It was easy since it was a joint account you know. Your birthday worked easily." she added with a sly smile spread across her face. "But what do you guys need such a large amount of money for?" She inquired, still lost in the realm of her shock. "Isn't it obvious? Your brother would be getting married soon so he needs a car and a house so he could make a statement and get settled in." Lisa was furious at the moment but tried to control the anger that was rising up in her. "My daughter is lying in the hospital and that money is needed to save her life. How heartless can you ever get Mom." "Heartless? You dare to use that word after getting married to this homeless pig. Well whatever you say, you are not getting it back cause the purchase has already been made." She announced. That dropped like a bombshell! Lisa was stunned and fell to the sofa while as for Andrew, his feet were still petrified. Lady Gaga smiled. They still had the money but that was the only way to prevent them from pushing too much. She smiled leaning forward and said. "What's the extent of saving her life when she is going to die out of hunger anyways?" Lady Gaga snorted with disdain in his voice. Andrew snapped out from his gaze. There was no reason for him to keep standing there. When he walked outside, that was the moment his cell phone made a beeping sound and the caller was Mr. Patrick. At first he didn't want to pick up but thinking about his daughter, he was eventually forced to. "Young master." The voice streamed out from the other end of the phone.ANDREW "Young master Andrew. You finally decided to pick up my call." The voice from the other end of the line snorted out with a cough.. Andrew clenched his fist. For a while, it looked as though his tongue was tied to the roof of his mouth. Andrew swallowed his pride and humbled himself, recognizing that his child's life was more important than his ego. He took a deep breath and uttered the words that felt foreign to him, "I need your help." He paused, then continued, "My daughter is ill at Hopkins Hospital, and I require a transfer of five hundred thousand dollars to the hospital account for her treatment." This was the family he had vowed never to return to, but circumstances had forced him to put aside his pride. He added, "I don't want my grandfather involved in this, and I don't want anything to do with him." To his surprise, the response was, "Of course, young master. That's the easiest thing for me to do." Andrew was taken aback, expecting resistance or hesitation,
ANDREW "I'm the father of the child that you want thrown out. You seem to be a mother, however, you don't show any sympathy for a girl that's dying in pain?" He inquired with a slight frown. "So this is the father of the girl?" She said with amusement on her face. "If the father of the child is this rich and good looking. And wonder what would become of that poor girl?" She said with a sarcastic smile. Her frown returned when she turned around towards the already scared doctor who took a few steps backwards due to fear . "Why don't you tell me! You are the head doctor of this place. Have you been giving freebies to poor peasants like him?" She asked angrily. Doctor Williams was short of words once again. He didn't want to say anything that would provoke her. Even though she was not right, she was still the mother to the heir of the Hills family and had to be treated as such. "No ma'am, we will do no such thing. We got a call this morning for the child to be moved to the ex
ANDREW Prince Austin's eyes welled up with tears as he rushed to his father's feet, clinging to them with a pitiful expression. "Daddy, that man slapped me and hurt my face!" He wailed, pointing an accusing finger at Andrew, a sinister smile playing on his lips. The lady's initial smile had vanished, replaced by a raging scowl. "Yes, that monster slapped our son and refused us treatment, even after we paid for the exclusive ward! He claimed he had the right to it, instead of us, the biggest shareholders of this hospital!" She spat, her voice trembling with fury. The old man's face darkened, his eyes flashing with anger. "How dare he!" He thundered, his voice like a clap of thunder. "I'll show him the true meaning of power! He'll pay for his insolence!" The room seemed to grow smaller, And all the onlookers began to panic on Andrew’s behalf but he still stood tall, his eyes locked on the old man, a fierce determination burning within him. The onlookers held their breath, sensing t
ANDREW The attention in the room was now shifted to the new stranger. No one in the room knew him. He didn't even strike a chord in the heart of anyone that was there. Even though he was looking rich, there was no way he would be able to compete with someone like Mr. Hills. Mrs. Hills stepped forward angrily seeing that her process of getting her revenge had been interrupted. "Who are you and how dare you stop this process?" She thundered. It suddenly clicked on her that Andrew had brought his cell phone out a while ago and she laughed out loud. "So this is it? This is the person that thought could stand against my darling husband. You must be the world's biggest joker. He isn't even known by anyone else. You just brought a pathetic loser like yourself! Ttffeww!." she scolded. Hearing these words almost made the old man flare up. However, he was still able to keep himself together. How could any of them that were around the place know such a world power like him..If thi
ANDREW Mrs. Hills could not believe her eyes. Her husband kneeling down before the man that she was supposed to take down by them? Was the world now playing a trick on her? "Honey. What are you doing? Why are you kneeling down before this lowly runt?" She glared, still confused at what was unfolding before her. "Don't you know that we are going to become a laughing stock before everyone if this goes out to the public?" She inquired. "Huh?" Dora is confused. She sniffed and her tears were already slowing down gradually. "Daddy. What's going on?" She inquired, confused. Austin looked at Dora angrily. Seeing that his father was kneeling down before her father, his ego was being destroyed. "Dad, what are you doing?" He was trying as hard as he could to suppress the anger that was gradually rising in the inside of him. "Do you really intend to make me a laughing stock before everyone?" "Fool, scumbag! how dare you?" His father, who had treated him like an angel that fell do
ANDREW "What have you done?" her father bellowed, his anger palpable through the phone. The sound of his hands slamming on the table made her jump. She had never heard him so furious before, and she was paralyzed with fear. "Do you know how many years our family has stood strong without your help? We've been the oldest family to rise to fame in this city, maintaining our rank among the top ten for over a thousand years. But thanks to your actions, our family no longer exists!" Mrs. Hills could feel that her father's voice was cracked as he spoke. There was an excessive amount of pain rising through him at the moment. Sandra's eyes widened in horror as she gazed at Mr. Patrick. "Could it be that he's the one who did this to us?" she thought, her mind racing. Just a minute ago, he made a call, and now her family is destroyed? She gulped, her heart pounding in her chest. What had she done? She was scared. Mr. Patrick's power and control were overwhelming. He wasn't even among the to
ANDREW He wondered, "Is this person not a member of the family? If not, how did he gain so much power and influence?" He was puzzled and skeptical, thinking to himself, "Does he think I'm foolish enough to believe this?" He scowled, but decided to play along, at least for now. With a hint of confusion in his voice, he asked, "What are you talking about? Don't your own words sound confusing to you?" He probed further, asking as though he was seeking clarification on the mysterious situation even though a part of him felt like he was about to be lied to. Mr. Patrick let out a really deep sigh. "You don't have to pretend, I know the thoughts that are already only going through your head. When I am done explaining, I am sure that you are going to understand everything." He added. "First of all, I never wanted you to be back to the family. I have always been loyal to your parents and them only.” He smiled briefly and continued. “As you know, your father was adopted and owed all ri
ANDREW While they continued to watch, the video stopped at a man's legs and stopped. "Shit. It stopped already." Juliet snorted angrily seeing what had happened. She wanted to smash her phone to the floor. But she thought twice. That was a new mid range phone that had been gotten for her by Francis. It was worth about five hundred dollars. If she smashed it, he would certainly not be pleased and might have to stay without a cell phone for a while. When she was about to end the video, seeing that there was nothing much for them to watch anymore. But before she could end it, Kelvin, who had noticed something, stopped her from doing so. "That shoe. Isn't it owned by Andrew? And those pants too. I am so sure of it." She said, "Andrew? Are you sure that you are not making a mistake?" Lady Gaga also stepped forward to see for herself. It looked like her son was telling the truth after all. She was certainly taken aback by it. "What would Andrew be doing there at that time?
The gates to the dungeon were opened up immediately, and Diego made his way into the dungeon, the man trailing behind him. "I have no idea how you got out of the dungeon, but get prepared to meet your end!" Diego said as a smile played across his face. Andrew struggled to get up from the floor but fell back onto the floor, his knees giving up under him. Blood was sprawling from every part of his face; some got into his eyes, blinding him from seeing who was in front of him. "You!" Andrew pointed wearily at Diego, "I'm so.... going to...kill you!" Diego let out a dangerous laugh that only lasted for a brief moment. "I'd like to see you try!" Diego let out in mockery and stretched forth his hand at Andrew. All of a sudden, Andrew felt himself being lifted off the floor by a strange force. "Now I'm going to show you the true taste of power!" Diego said with a smirk on his face. Andrew was already feet above the floor. He was flaring his arms and legs in the air, shouting at the t
—Get ready for your ultimate task, master— Valkyron's electronic voice boomed; this time, itsscreen was not hovering in front of Andrew and emanating a blue light as usual.. Instead it was iitsovoicethat was resounding from every angle. "What do you mean, Valkyron ,and how....how did i get here?"Andrew asked as he turned around, trying to make out where he was. This did not look like any of the rooms in Andrew's mansion; it looked more like he was in a desert, and he wondered how he had gotten there. He could hear multiple voices around him as if he was standing in front of a crowd that was waiting for him to perform, but he couldn't see anyone around him even when he looked into the distance. He tried to pinch himself to be sure that this was not a dream—it wasn't. —Focus, master. Now that your parents are awake, you have unlocked the second phase of your mission, which begins now, the ultimate test that you're about to face will determine if you're worthy of your powers and all
A few weeks later, Andrew's parents were well enough to be discharged from the hospital, and Andrew could not have been more glad. He threw a party on their return—the party only included himself, his parents, his immediate family, the house workers, and Pa Jones. Since he had not yet revealed himself to the others; his friends, and office workers about his return, no one esle had been invited to the party. Andrew felt his life was complete again; he was almost the richest man in the country, and his parents, who he thought had died, were alive and well. It was a swell moment for him. Lisa was the one who was growing increasingly worried that Andrew was now staying back from the office and avoiding contact with everyone else. Poor Patrick had been to the house several times to check up on her. Lisa couldn't tell why, but Andrew had instructed that she should not let him know that Andrew had returned, and each time Patrick left the house with a sad look on his face, she would ask A
Andrew had failed to recover his car from the ice cream shop. He Would have taken up the issue concerning his stolen car, but the car was the least of his problems now, and he had all the money to replace the car he needed. He was more concerned for his parents' health than anything else. He was glad that Lisa had patiently listened to him when he took his time to explain That people were onto him, And they would stop at nothing to make sure that, they saw Andrew suffer, and she had to be grateful that he had found their daughter and rescued her just in time before those men got away. He hadn't given her the full details of the story, just the necessary parts, and debunked every other thing that Dora had said. When Lisa confronted him about what Dora had said about him having superpowers, he laughed about it, making the laugh so real, and deep down, he was only passing time and thinking of what to say that would sound convincing enough. "Would you believe that?!" Andrew said after
Emilia ran her eyes over both men before she responded. "Yes, Diego is in, and do you wish to see him?!" Emilia asked back. "No, no, I do not want to see Diego; I was just making sure.""Okay but who are you two?!" Emilia asked them with question gazes. "Um, my name is Reginald, and I know that I can confide in you, Emilia. So please tell me, Is Mr Genius here?!"Emilia continued to stare at both of them for a while before she responded. "I don't think there's anyone that bears that name in this place. " She said plainly. "Is there anyone who bears Mr Andrew here?!" Reginald asked, rephrasing his sentence. Emilia tried to hide the look that she had made when Reginald mentioned Andrew's name. "No, there's no one that bears that name here either!" She said promptly and tried to dismiss both of them. "I think you too should leave now or haven't I answered all your questions?!""Please do not raise your voice, Emelia!" Reginald pleaded as he looked around, hoping that they would no
Andrew was already making arrangements to get his parents moved to a better hospital that was just a minute's drive away from his house, and in no time, parents had been transferred, all thanks to Pa Jones help, who had assisted in filling out all the paperwork that was necessary for making the transfer. Andrew had made sure that he had sorted out all the hospital bills where his parents had been and thanked them heartily before leaving. It was not until dusk when his parents had been settled into the new hospital before Andrew remembered that he had not yet retrieved his car from the ice cream shop. "Darn it! How can I be this forgetful these days?" Andrew lamented to himself. He knew going back to get the car would be a lost cause because already the car would have been stolen because he had kept the key to the car carelessly for any lucky thief to find. "What's the matter young chap?" Pa Jones, who had noticed the change in Andrew, could not help himself but ask. "My car. I w
"This way, we have to hide before anyone sees us!" Reginald said, searching for a Place that they could both hide. Rolling out of the building was not an option now As they were a long distance away from the door. "I thought you said that only the front passage is used for entry and exit, so why is it that someone is coming now that we are making our way in?" Patrick asked angrily. "There's no time to ask silly questions but just follow me so that we can hide from whoever is coming!" Reginald held back from yelling at Patrick. Patrick gritted his teeth in anger but had no other choice than to follow Reginald into hiding. They found the perfect spot behind one of the doors that they could hide from whoever was approaching. Reginald crossed his fingers and shot his eyes tightly as he prayed that Diego was not the one approaching the passageway Because if it was, it would not take a minute or two for Diego to sniff out strangers in his building. Patrick was about to say something w
"Look, the reason why I do not want to go in there is because I'm not on good terms with Diego." Reginald tried to explain to Patrick that every other thing that he had said to make Patrick give the document back to him had fallen by the side of Patrick's ears. "That's a lie, Reginald, and I am not going to fall for your lies anymore.""Believe me, and it would not even make sense if I should just go to the door, knock on me,t, and ask Diego to release Mr genius; it doesn't work that way,,y does it?!" Reginald asked Rhetorically. "That is why we are going to break him out, and I am not giving these documents back to you unless you help me!" Patrick affirmed. "Shit!" Reginald cursed under his breath. "This was not part of the agreement, boss.""Well, it is now!" Patrick stated. "Now come on let's go. How do we get in without being spotted by anyone especially not by Diego?""That's not any of my business, bosses. Now. Give me back the document and let me be on my way; I told you to
Andrew didn't realize how much he hated Hospitals until he walked into the place. "Man, this place reeks, is this really where my parents were Kept?!" Andrew asked the old man in displeasure. "Yes, this is the place, and why are you holding onto your nostrils like that, lad?" The old man asked when he looked up and noticed Andrew's fingers were still clenched onto his nose tightly. "I do not like the smell of this place" Andrew replied him. "Well, you better start getting used to it because we're going to be in here for a while." The old man informed him. Andrew suddenly stopped in his tracks as if remembering something. The old man noticed this and turned around to meet Andrew's gaze. "What's the matter, lad? You're tired already?!" "No, I'm not tired; I just have this weird feeling...I can't wait to see my parents.....""Well, that's where we are headed for now. We're almost there, we're just three rooms away. " The old man informed Andrew, pointing toward what seemed to be t
