The next day, Albert returned to Parker City, feeling the weight of his unresolved emotions pressing down on him. As he entered his family's home, he was met with warm hugs from his parents, Mr and Mrs Dallas.

They were eager to hear about his trip and couldn't wait to hear the news they had been hoping for—the confirmation that Vera had finally accepted his proposal.
