OBVIOUS JEALOUSY

Mrs Williams sat on the sofa, holding her phone tightly in her hand, with a deep frown on her face. She had just hung up from a phone call with her daughter, Suzy, who lived across town.

They talked often, and today's conversation centred around Mrs William's feelings of jealousy and resentment towards Mrs Cox.

"Suzy, I just can't stand it," Mrs Williams said, her voice dripping with frustration. "Every time Dub and Amelia need to talk to an elder, they turn to Mrs Cox. It's like they don't even want me around."

Suzy listened quietly on the other end of the line, knowing her mother's tendency to exaggerate things.

"Mom, you know that's not true," she said. "Dub and Amelia love you, and they're grateful for everything you've done for them."

"I know, I know," Mrs Williams sighed. "But it's just that Mrs Cox is always keeping in touch with them, and Dub seems to trust her more than me. I don't understand it."

Suzy could hear the hurt in her mother's voice and tried to offer some comfort.
