THE ARREST OF THE BEAST

On a crisp, early morning, the sun had just begun its ascent, casting a gentle golden hue across the city. Albert was preparing to leave for work. He meticulously straightened his tie, checked his reflection in the hallway mirror, and grabbed his briefcase.

As he stepped out of his front door, the cool morning air greeted him. He started down the path toward his car, parked at the curb.

The familiar routine of his daily commute was etched into his subconscious, and he moved with a sense of purpose. But as he reached the car door, a sudden, sharp voice cut through the calm morning air.
