THE DUO'S RESILIENCE
Donald was sitting at his desk, working on his computer when he received a call from his dad.

"Hey, Dad! How are you?" Donald asked.

"I'm good, son. How are you?" his dad replied.

"I'm doing great. What's up?" Donald asked, curious about why his dad was calling him.

"I need to talk to you about something important," his dad said, his voice serious.

Donald's heart started racing. He wondered what could be so important that his dad had to call him.

"What is it, Dad? You're making me nervous," Donald said.

"I've heard some things about Vera that I think you need to know," his dad said.

Donald's heart sank. He loved Vera more than anything, and he couldn't imagine what his dad could say that would make him feel differently.

"What have you heard?" Donald asked, his voice shaking.

"I've heard that Vera has a ruptured womb and that she won't be able to have children," his dad said.

"I know, Dad. I love Vera, and I don't care if she can have children or not," Donald said, trying to
