Dub had been concerned about Amelia. It looked like she had made a resolve not to return to him. He had sent her text messages, called her severally, and even gone to her house to visit her, but it never worked, so he decided to talk to her parents about it. He decided that he was going to tell the Williams and the Coxs. Even though Mr and Mrs Williams were her biological parents, he was determined not to tell them alone but to also tell Mrs Cox, since Amelia grew up with her and she understood her better. He didn't wish to involve his parents in this, but he felt he had no choice. All this while, he had thought that the bond between himself and Amelia was strong and it would be difficult to separate them, but right now, he was no longer sure. When Sandra noticed that Donald did not return the next day, she was bothered, so she asked the servant who had told her that Donald had gone to visit a friend, about his whereabouts. Amelia was heartbroken after she heard the conversation between Owen and the lady that he used in achieving his aims. "So it was all a set-up. How I wish I was smart enough to know this?" Amelia told herself feeling very pained. She wished that she had not broken up her relationship with Dub. Dub was loving and caring to her, and now, she felt that he didn't deserve the treatment she gave to him. She broke down in tears when she remembered the way her relationship with Owen started, and how he and his sister deceived her into the relationship. She tried to dial Dub's number severally, but his number was not going through. It was a Saturday and she was not ready to wait till the following week before seeing Dub to apologize to him. He was on leave until Wednesday, so she knew that she wouldn't be able to see him at work until Wednesday. Donald was discharged from the hospital and taken home. His servants knew that he was sick but they never knew what the nature of his sickness was, or what caused it. They only saw an ambulance that came to pick him up on that fateful day. They would have told Sandra that he was taken to the hospital if Mrs Jeff had not cautioned them about it. As soon as Donald entered the house, he was heralded by his servants as they greeted and welcomed him back home. He entered the master bedroom and met some of Sandra's clothes lying on the bed. It was obvious that she was around. Looking at Sandra's clothes on the bed stirred up more hatred in his heart against her and he wondered where she was, around the house. Amelia arrived at the police station as a suspect. "Young lady, you were arrested for being one of Mr Owen Powell's accomplices. Mr Owen Powell is a dealer of hard and illicit drugs and we've been on the lookout for him and his accomplices." "I don't know what you're talking about. Never knew Owen dealt in hard and illicit drugs. Oh, my God!" Amelia exclaimed in shock, then she began to sob. "I just started relating with him two weeks ago. I came into his house a few minutes ago when I heard the sound of the police's vehicle. Please, release me! I'm not one of his accomplices. You need to believe me," Amelia said, as tears rolled down her cheeks. She regretted agreeing to date Owen. If only she had refused him when he asked her out, she wouldn't be in this mess. She saw the way Owen squandered money, but she never for once thought that he could be involved in something illicit. After Amelia was released from police custody, she received a conference call from the Williams and Coxs that same weekend. The two families had been informed about Amelia's arrest and the reason why she was arrested; so they called to show her some love and care. Mrs Cox and Mr Williams would have come over to Donlow city, if Dub had not tried to stop them from coming, saying that, it wasn't necessary. Sandra had thought that she would be compensated by the Yales for attempting to kill Donald, but to her surprise, she wasn't. Owen was sentenced to ten years imprisonment by the court. This brought so much sorrow for Linda because their parents were dead and they were just two; herself and Owen. Linda used to do menial jobs, until Owen persuaded her to stop, promising that he would begin a business that would make him capable of taking care of the two of them.
