TRYING A RECONCILIATION

Vera gathered her courage and decided it was time to reach out to Donald. She knew that their relationship had suffered greatly due to the recent events, and she was determined to make amends and explain her actions. She dialled his number and waited anxiously for him to pick up.

After a few rings, Donald finally answered the call, his voice guarded and distant. "Vera? What do you want?"

Vera took a deep breath, trying to steady her trembling voice. "Donald, please. Can we meet? I need to talk to you. There are things I need to explain."

There was a long pause on the other end of the line as if Donald was contemplating whether he should entertain her request. Finally, he relented. "Fine. Let's meet at the park in an hour."
