TRYING TO STAY AWAY

Two weeks had passed since Donald was discharged from the hospital. He had been eager to hear from Vera, but she had not contacted him.

He tried calling her several times, but her phone was not going through. He was worried about her, but he had to move on with his life.

One Saturday afternoon, Donald was sitting in his apartment, feeling lonely and depressed. He had been thinking about Vera all day, wondering where she could be and why she had not called him.

Suddenly, an idea popped into his head. He decided to call Cecil, Vera's friend, and see if she could help him get in touch with Vera.

Donald dialled Cecil's number and waited anxiously for her to pick up. After a few rings, she finally answered.

"Hello?" Cecil said.

"Cecil, it's Donald," he said, trying to sound confident.

"Donald? Oh, hi. How are you doing?" Cecil asked, sounding surprised.

"I'm doing okay. Listen, I need your help. I've been trying to get in touch with Vera, but I can't reach her. Do you know where she is?"
