“Such guts for someone who equals the dirt he is standing on.” Edwin sneered, browsing Jordan’s entire being with scorn and disgust- like his entire being smothered him.

Jordan’s rage was stroking him pretty wildly. He scorned how the fool was looking at him as if he were some stinking trash. But he held his cool tight.

“You should learn how to be humble. That is what cheap and pathetic people like you do.” Edwin mocked again, while Jordan kept clenching his fists to suppress his wrath from bursting out.

‘These two fools do not seem to be in a hurry to enter the court and leave me alone, huh.’ Jordan thought. Maybe because they wanted to humiliate him even more.

“I suggest you stop yapping and let us just end this now, Mr. Rich Man! Your lover here,” Jordan fixed his glare at Diana, who squirmed in return, “is dying to start a family with you. You don’t want to keep her waiting any longer, do you?” He then shifted his gaze to Edwin, leaving Diana puzzled.

Diana was finding it arduous to understand the man before her. The wretched Jordan she knew would not have had the bravery to face the situation at hand like this and be this resolute to divorce her. She anticipated him going down on his knees, begging her not to divorce him. She wanted to be the one to spit him out, not this. His boldness befuddled and infuriated her to the core.

“I hate to admit it, but I concur with you, Jordan. Let's end this so that you can leave me and my soon-to-be wife be!” Edwin furiously said, draping his hand possessively around Diana’s waist.

If Edwin's gesture was to anger Jordan, he failed miserably because now Jordan was no longer interested in her anymore. He did not want such kind of woman by his side.

The trio entered the court with Jordan trailing behind them. An official in a black suit approached them. He bowed slightly to Edward and Diana as he extended his greetings.

“Sir Edwin, Miss Diana. Welcome!” The official guy greeted.

He was about to extend his hand to Jordan, but when his eyes landed on Jordan, he waffled, and then retrieved his hand. Diana could not cloak her euphoria at what the official did to Jordan. She smirked broadly, shaking her head at Jordan.

“Is everything in order?” Edwin asked.

“As per your orders, sir Edwin. Everything is all set. Please follow me.” The man said, leading the way for them, and Edward was next after him.

Diana, before following them, turned to Jordan.

“Did you see that, Jordan? I cheated on you with a better man. A man who would get things done with just a snap of a finger. That is the power of money and influence. And that is the kind of man I so much wanted. Not a useless nobody who doesn't even know his purpose for living like you, Jordan!” Diana sneered, and she did not wait for Jordan to respond as she swayed her body and followed inside.

Jordan could not help but smirk at the irony of things. He inwardly admitted that he did not know his wife that well, but not in a million years could he have surmised that she was this snobby, arrogant, and scornful. He also felt like smirking at her oblivion about who he now was. She didn't know he had discovered the power in him. The power and abilities that would shake her bones if only she knew. All the same, she needn’t not know at the moment. The beta part now was for them to set each other free so that he could focus on his mission.

The process did not take long. Both of them were overly certain of what they wanted. In a minute, they found themselves strolling out of the court, all free from the toxic marriage. He was happy, and that choked Diana to the core. One would wonder what the problem was with this woman. Wasn't she sure of her new lover? Wasn't she sure about letting Jordan go? She all of a sudden seemed angry.

“So, now that you do not even have a roof over your head, what are you going to do?” Edwin spoke once they were outside, stopping in front of Jordan with a smirk.

As if he cared! Wasn't he done insulting him?

“I do not see how that is any of your fucking business.” Jordan uttered, feeling pissed off by the annoying man.

Edwin scoffed.

“Ooh, it isn't. I just feel pity for you, so I thought I should maybe help. No offense, so calm your ego, man!” Edwin’s mockery in the voice was so apparent.

“And what kind of help do you think you can offer me, huh?” Jordan asked with sarcasm.

“Forget my offer earlier, which you turned down arrogantly. You can not say no to this one if you have brains, Jordan!” Edwin spoke, fixing his suit.

It's not like there was anything to fix. It was the superiority complex in him portraying itself. The showoff that made Jordan scoff.

“I still do not understand what you are ranting about.” Jordan spoke, disinterested.

“I know you are wondering how you will survive from now on. So, I am willing to extend a helping hand even though you are not deserving of my sympathy. I will hire you as a cleaner in my company. Just ask me nicely. Show me how much desperate you are for a job, and I will hire you. Kneel before me, and beg me!” Edwin said in a commanding tone.

Of all the jokes in the world, this was the most absurd of all that Jordan had ever heard.

Him, kneeling before the man his woman cheated on him with and begging for help? Never in his lifetime. Even if he was still a nobody, there was no way on earth he could humiliate himself that way.

If only it did not stroke his demons that this man was bent on insulting him even when he had no right to, he would have raptured in laughter.

“I would rather die or be a beggar in the streets than ask for help from you! And for your info, I do not need your help at all!” Jordan rebuted.

“Your arrogance will be your end, Jordan!” That was his now ex-wife who spoke, summoning Jordan’s attention to her as she spoke again. “I would use my brain and take what Edwin is offering. Nobody on this freaking earth would ever want to have a pathetic, poor man like you ever.” She spoke with so much arrogance.

Jardan began fuming with anger. He had had enough of their insolence. He felt like he could not curb his wrath anymore. He shut his eyes as his claws dug deeper into his palms, his fists becoming more tighter. He so wanted to show the two fools that he was no longer the pathetic nobody they could insult anyhow.

However, before his beats could react,  a voice interrupted them.

“SAVIOR!”

The angelic voice of a girl echoed from the gate of the court, summoning the attention of all three of them. They all snapped their eyes at her as she approached.

“I searched everywhere for you. Thank God, I finally found you!” Her smile brightened the whole compound, drawing everyone into bewilderment.

Derrick’s anger rose, breaking the awkward lull that had been engulfing them.“Who the hell are you, if I may ask? What is your name, and what are you doing with her? What family do you come from?
