“There is nothing more, father! It is nothing!” Edwin tried to lie with a strained boldness that sold him off.

He was struggling to even breathe, and obviate his father’s eyes at all costs. Jordan found Edwin to be such a coward. He could not only acknowledge his mistake, but he was also afraid of telling the truth.
