Jordan drove like a savage maniac on the road. Ana’s constant plea for him to slow down all hit deaf ears, and she bounced right back into her mouth. The desire to finally know the truth was what fueled him.

‘Finally, I will know where my family is. Who my people are. Just who are these rivers? Where are they? Where were we apart?’ Endless questions kept ringing in his ears all the way through.

Reaching the officer’s gate, Ana heaved out a heavy sigh of relief. She had been holding her heart all the way and praying to the heavens that they would not cause an accident. It was by miracle that they were still sound and in peace when they pulled over at Officer Adamson’s gate.

The hooting stopped only when the electric gate opened, and Jordan again stressed on the accelerator like a savage as he drove in. He jumped out of the vehicle, and Ana knew that time was of the essence. She could presume Jordan’s situation. She jumped out after him.
