Ana’s finger brushed the shunning mahogany table. She didn’t feel anything. She lifted the hand and looked at the finger—sportless. She cruised her eyes around the entire house, from the well-opened windows to the well-arranged dining and sitting areas. The floor was blindingly sparkling. “Perfecto! The little rat is at least proving to be useful in a way.” Ana shrugged her shoulders, squared them, and walked majestically to the kitchen.

The mouth-watering aroma of some chicken recipes, which Ana was not familiar with, greeted her. “Mmmh!” She appreciated the inviting aroma, her eyes shut.

“I guess I don’t have to worry about whether anyone will like my cooking then.” A faint voice of gratitude snapped at Ana.
