“I am sorry I didn’t think of that at first.” Mr Jonathan explained.

Lia felt a bit relieved with the idea of the two men not leaving. She was so apprehensive of her safety. She just didn’t want to stop them or vex them.

“So, what do we do? Those men will kill us the minute they find us.” Jonathan directed the question to Jordan.

Jordan paused to think, while the two individuals waited patiently for his decision. They trusted him with their lives.

Jordan thought and thought. He knew his martial arts skills would be of great use, but he knew it would be difficult to fight a whole gang all at the same time. He needed a good plan.

“It is me that they want, so we will lure them into a trap but outside of this neighborhood.” Jordan stated, puzzling Jonathan and Liya even more.

Lure them? Did he want to trick them?

“What you are thinking is dangerous. How will you trap them? And what will you do? You can’t fight them.” Liya said. She was getting so worried by Jordan’s hazardous plan.

Jordan walked in swiftness and traced his way back to where he had rescued Mr Jonathan the previous night. The first shock he got was the missing bodies of those goons he had fought at night. The ground where he left them lying half-dead was crystal dry. No single drop of blood was traceable. The lack of blood rang an alarm for him. It meant that someone had taken them and cleaned up the blood. For someone to do that, it meant they had a motive.“Looking for something?” A deep voice spoke from his behind. He could agnize that arrogant voice. He had heard it a few minutes ago. He turned around slowly, portraying zero signs of nervousness or fear. The belligerent face of Martin greeted Jordan’s arctic one, and behind Martin was a battalion of armed goons with all-ready armor. The acuate blades and guns made Jordan deduce another plan. Fighting a battalion of militarized men would be a straight ticket to the grave for him.He had to think of a plan B fast.Martin walked closer in drawn-o

“Okay. I will grant you your last wish on this world! But it has to be only one request.” Martin stated, still washed-up in the muddiness of the man before him.Jordan took a minute to think. He needed to buy time for his back-up to be alive and he needed to be extremely careful. He needed to outsmart those people.“If you do not speak in a minute, I will forget about your damn last-moment request and rip your stupid brains apart!” Martin said when Jordan took too long to speak. He knew the bullet was an easy way compared to what he had in store for the man, but his impatience had conjured his gun to Jordan’s forehead. His goons behind him also cocked their guns and pointed them at Jordan.Jordan found them pathetically lame. He was all alone, yet they could not even attack him with bare hands. He didn’t know how he could fight all of them if they chose that option, but at least they would portray a flyspeck bit of manliness.“I want to die a heroic death, and I am sure you want to be

“What should we do?” The goons murmured amongst themselves while their eyes remained glued to Jordan.Their boss was still wriggling in pain on the floor with his broken leg and the lower part of his face drenched in blood.“We can’t make a mistake or the boss will be killed right before us.” One of them said.“Then what?” Another asked apprehensively. “We have to do something. This man can not get away from us. He killed three of our men and now he nearly killed our boss. We have to finish him off!” Another one said.“But if we shoot, he will definitely shoot our boss!” Another one argued.“Sometimes, we have to sacrifice some people in battles to safe our own asses.” Another one stated, summoning everyone’s attention.“Are you trying to suggest we sacrifice our own boss? Are you insane?” One man asked on behalf of everyone. That was the same question lingering in everyone’s head.“We don’t have a choice! We are not even cognizant of what is going through that guy’s head right now, d

In a moment, a girl ran into Jordan’s arms, encompassing him into a hug that left Jordan’s companions jaw-dropped. Five brachiate men stood before them. Jordan didn’t recognize them at all. He thought that Martin’s group was the only terrorist group in the area. So who were the new terrorists?“Who the heck are these people?” He wondered out loud as he shielded the other three people behind him.He was both ravenous and dog-tired. Another attack was something he did not anticipate. He felt cornered. He didn’t know what the men wanted or where they came from.Ana was quivering with veneration and wrath behind Jordan. She was so well acquainted with the cold men before them. They were part of the security army of his foster parents, and she did not need a magician to tell her why they were there. But, that was far from the plan as far as she knew. Her father only told her to locate Jordan and inform him. She had even escaped her guards to go to Jordan alone to avoid any mishaps. She thought she had been careful enough to even have left her car behind, but the notorous De’Luka had outsmarted her and

An open gun wound was traceable on her belly. She was bleeding a lot.Jordan placed his two fingers on her nose. His heart degaged a little when he felt the slight ticklish sensation of her labored breathing. He took her left hand and felt the pulse. It was there, but a faint one too, but it was enough to relax everyone.“She is breathing.” He announced, and even the policemen signed in relief.“They are all dead.” A policeman reported after checking all the five bodies of the gunmen.“We were still in the area when we heard the gunshot and decided to check where it came from. Are you all okay?” The officer who had given Jordan the right to kill Martin if he ever escaped asked. The officer was assessing Jordan and wondering who he really was. It seemed like doom was on his trail. He had just fought a gang, and another one attacked them right after. Too much of a coincidence.“We are all okay. He seemed deep in thought.“I hope so.” He answered.Liya joined Jordan in staring at Ana. The girl was still a closed book to Liya and Mr Jonathan. She had betrayed Jordan and yet he was helping her. Was he that fond of her? Why?“What do you intend to do with her when she wakes up?” Liya asked. She did not want to be so direct with her questions.“

    CELEBRATING VICTORY

‘‘Huuu!” Noises crackled in the house of Jordan as the members heaved out their tiredness, sampled in the aura of victory, and rested their weapons on the tables as they took their seats.
