THE MAN'S IMPRESSIVENESS

Daniel’s lower part of his face was drenched in his own blood when he finally jerked himself up from the floor. Even the upper part had bleeding marks too, but the lower one seemed to have suffered the most. Actually, he was too scared to stand. He did not want to face another kick or a punch on his almost dismantled face from Jordan. And he was too ashamed to face the faces before him. He was certain that Diana and her mother were basking in the uttermost glee at seeing him being beaten up and humiliated before them. He wished he would never face them again.

But they were there, watching it all, and indeed, sure to Daniel’s thoughts, Diana’s smugness could never have been cloaked seeing the man in such a state. It was not like she was even trying to hide it. She wanted her uncle to see just how much she relished watching their tormentor’s downfall. If only her mother had the strength to move a muscle, she would also have joined her daughter in laughing at her brother and mocking him.
