William ran back quickly as he was excited that he had successfully reached the rescue team before the radio battery died.

When he arrived back at the shore, he was shocked to see the helicopter flying away.

He jumped around like a mad man trying to get their attention, but they were far gone and couldn’t see him.

He couldn’t believe he was left behind. His legs became weak and he dropped to his knees in despair “No…No…please come back”

Since the response team believed they had rescued everyone, no one was coming back for him. People would think he died in the crash.

Tears ran down his face as he clenched his fists in anger. He knew Scarlett and the others had purposely left him behind.

He pounded his fist on the ground. “I am going to survive this and return to make them pay!”

William spent the next six months on the island struggling to stay alive.

There were times he came across highly venomous snakes and barely survived.

Some days he went completely hungry.

William was taking a nap when he felt something on his head.

He snapped his eyes open to see a dangerous looking man pointing a rifle at his skull.

Looking around, they were men dressed in uniform all around him. They were soldiers of the Legolas Army.

“Pick him up!”

William was dragged to their commander in chief, General Ryker.

General Ryker was huge. He was around 6 foot three in height.

He had a grey moustache and a scruffy beard. He had the reputation of the most feared and merciless men in the Legolas Army.

“Sir we found this man camped nearby. He must be a spy.” one of the officers informed the general.

The Legolas army had recently received information that some enemy spies were trying to infiltrate their ranks.

Unfortunately for William, they had found him on the island which was one of their training locations.

William’s throat tightened. Who were these people? Why did they say he was a spy?

The General took a hard look at William. “Torture him till he confesses who he works for.”

“Please” his voice broke. “I'm not a spy. I swear…”

One of the soldiers gave William a hard punch to the stomach, causing him to fall to the ground groaning in pain.

They picked him up and tied him to a tree. For the next three days he went without food and water.

The nights were extremely cold and while the soldiers slept close to a fire, he had to stay there stuck to the tree.

After the three days had passed, the general returned for William’s confession.

“Are you ready to finally say the truth, what army do you belong to?” He questioned.

William felt very weak. Days of hunger and thirst had taken a toll on him.

His lips had dried up but he still managed to speak. “I swear… I don't belong to any army. I-I just got stranded here by chance.”

The general’s face twisted with anger. “I can see you are a stubborn one. Bring the branding iron!”

One of the soldiers returned with an iron rod. They had left it in a fire until it had become red hot.

William’s face went pale when he saw one of the soldiers coming towards him with the rod.

He struggled to free himself from the ropes but it was no use.

William’s voice trembled with fear. “What…What are you planning to do with that?”

“Ahhhh!!!!!!.......Ahhhh….!!!!” William screamed in pain as the iron was pressed into his skin, burning his flesh.

“Please! Ahhhh!!! I'm not a spy!” He continued to plead as his skin sizzled.

The general realizing William adamant about not being a spy asked them to stop. “Enough.”

“Fine. If you're not a spy. Tell me in detail how you got here. If I sense a lie in your story, you will suffer unimaginable pain before I finally kill you.”

William told the general everything that happened to him including the inheritance and how he was stranded on the island.

“Cut him loose.” The general ordered, he seemed to have believed William’s story.

William tried to stand but quickly fell to the ground. All the energy had left his body.

The general stroke his beard as he thought of what to do. “The rule states that anyone who is not a member of the Legolas army found here must be killed.”

William heart sank. “Please have mercy! I don't want to die. Not until I have gotten my revenge.”

A serious expression formed on General Ryker’s face. “There is only one way out for you.”

William’s voice cracked with desperation. “What do I need to do?”

Scarlett clenched her fists. What game was William playing? How could someone like him have $100,000? She wasn't planning to spend more than $70,000 on the painting but now William had raised the bid to $100,000. Scarlett bit her lip. She had to get this painting to gain Asher Knight’s favour. “105,000 dollars.” William smiled. He knew Scarlett was stubborn and this was exactly what he wanted. He wanted her to go in a bidding war with him. “$120,000.” William called out. Scarlett frowned. “$130,000!” William put in another bid. “$250,000” Everyone gasped in astonishment. Who exactly was this man going toe to toe with Scarlett Grey? Scarlett couldn't believe what she was hearing. William had nearly doubled her bid. I can hack into almost any system in the world and build high tech programs” Roland continued. “I've researched you and I know you have a vendetta against the Grey family. I'd like to help you in your mission.” William raised his eyebrow. “How can I trust you?” Roland's expression turned serious. “Although I am eternally grateful that you saved my life, I also need your help with something else.” William's voice lowered. “What would that be?” Roland's gaze flickered to the ground before meeting William again. “You were able to leave the Legolas army. [ 3 years ago, Legolas Army base] The soldiers gathered around for a briefing on their next mission. William was among those chosen for the expedition. It was his first official mission as a member of the Legolas army. General Ryker stood in front of them communicating his orders. “We've been contracted to eliminate a war criminal known as Robinson Tradwell.” Since the Legolas army was a private army, they weren't interested in the details of what their employers wanted as long as they got paid. Ryker pulled up a map on the large screen behind them. “The Intel reaching us is that he and his men are trying to escape and are currently in the Rhunakis desert.” “Remember, this is a clean mission, and there must be no witnesses. We move in and we take out the target. Is that understood?” “Sir, yes sir!” The soldiers roared in unison. The team of six including the general set out in their chopper at night. As they flew nearer to the drop point, William grew increasingly nervous.

I don't want her dragged into this in any way.” "No. I told Miss Martha to stay in as you're having a very important meeting." Roland responded. "Good." William and Natasha knew each other from his time in the Legolas army. Natasha was one of General Ryker's most trusted intelligence operatives. However, this visit wasn't about old memories. The general had sent her for a reason. Natasha sat with her feet crossed having a drink when William walked into the room. “William! It's been too long. The general sends his regards.” she said with a light tone. William smiled. “It's not even been up to a year. Did you miss me that much?” “Let me guess. He wants you to bab

William swallowed hard. Was she on to him? He slowly turned around trying to keep a composed face. “What do you mean?” Sophia narrowed her eyes as she walked closer to him. “It's your glasses." she said as she tilted her head. "I thought they used to be round? You've always worn round glasses.” William stomach tightened. He had put on his special glasses for recording and forgot that Leblanc didn't wear square shaped glasses. “Oh.” William chuckled nervously rubbing the back of his neck “Just wanted to try something different.” Sophia stared for a second longer before shrugging lazily. “Hmmm…Alright. You may leave.” She said dismissively before returning back to her phone. William exhaled sharply the moment he stepped out. Next, he had to figure out the perfect way to expose the video of Sophia confessing. Sophia's birthday was coming up and she always loved to throw big parties where she would host popular names from all over. William decided that that would be t

“Yes.” William replied. “ His name is Leblanc. He works for the Grey family, and there's no way he's going to admit that Sophia sent him, he's way too loyal.” “So how do we prove that this was Sophia's doing?” Roland asked. William's voice lowered. Is Project Chameleon finally ready for launch? Roland's eyes widened. “You mean….” A wicked smirk formed on William's lips. “Yes, I'm going to beat Sophia at her own game.” Project Chameleon was a secret high tech project being carried out by Knight Industries. They had been working on a highly sophisticated AI mask that made it possible for the wearer to assume any face they wanted. It even had the ability to change the voice of the person who was wearing it. William had been planning to use it for something else, but because of this, he was going to use it early. “So you're going to act as Leblanc?” Roland asked. “Yes. I'm going to trick Sophia into confessing that she was responsible for those images.” William replied.

I'll get right on it.” Martha glanced at William with uncertainty. “Where are we going?” “I'm talking you to my place. You can lay low there for now, at least until we can take care of this.” Soon they arrived at William's penthouse apartment. He led the way inside, looking around to make sure none of the reporters had followed them. William escorted her into one of the guest rooms. “You can stay here. No one will disturb you. I'll be in the other room if you need me.” “Thank you so much.” Martha said softly. About an hour later, Roland returned with news about the images. He

A slim man wearing glasses walked into the room hesitantly. “Miss Sophia” he greeted cautiously. “Did you get what I asked?” Sophia demanded. The man nodded. “Yes, but Miss Sophia, are you sure about this? If this goes wrong…” Sophia cut him off. “Listen, your job isn't to question me. You do what I pay you for and shut up.” The man handed a tablet over to her. She smiled wickedly as she scrolled through. “Yes. This is very good.” Sophia picked up her phone and anonymously messaged the top gossip reporters in Crenshaw city. "I have a juicy story for you all. The judge hesitated before speaking. “The committee was persuaded to do the right thing.” Sophia raised an eyebrow. “Persuaded? That doesn't answer my question!” William chuckled, shaking his head. "You bribed them. I simply reminded them what would happen if they accepted dirty money."
