“Master, Franklin Seth has invited you to the Cedarwood Gala holding tonight.” Roland said as he landed William an invite.

Franklin Seth was the chairman of Seth Industries. They were arguably one of the top companies in Crenshaw city.

He had heard that Asher Knight was in Crenshaw city and was looking to expand his business.

He saw this as an opportunity to gain his favour.

“Are you going to be attending?”

William already knew about Seth Industries and was already planning to do business with them.

Since they had reached out to him first, he decided that he would honour their invitation.

**********

“You got an invite to the Cedarwood Gala?” Sophia was surprised when her friend Jade informed her she would be attending the Gala.

Jade smiled proudly. “Yes. My boyfriend is taking me as his plus one.”

“I'm so jealous. It's so difficult to get an invite to the Cedarwood Gala. I couldn't even get one.” Sophia said.

“I even heard a rumour that the Incredible Asher Knight will be there.” Jade added.

“Really?” Scarlett asked eavesdropping on their conversation.

She had been interested in Asher Knight ever since she heard he was coming to Crenshaw city.

She had also heard he was single and was looking for every opportunity to meet him.

At that moment, there was a knock on the door. Damon went to see who it was.

It was Ryan. His face was still had plasters for his injuries from the fight with William.

“What happened to you?” Damon asked, noticing his face.

Ryan's brows furrowed. “You never told me your stupid brother-in-law had returned. Didn't you say he died?”

Damon’s eyes widened. The whole room went silent in shock, Olivia quickly turned her attention to Ryan. “What do you mean? You saw William?”

Ryan went in and took a seat, you could see he was still annoyed about what had happened. “Yes. Your brother-in-law William did this to me.”

None of them could believe what Ryan was saying. There was no way William could be back in Crenshaw city.

They had abandoned him on Legolas Island, there's no way he could have survived.

Sophia let out a nervous laugh. “I’m sure you saw wrong. That fool didn't survive our plane crash three years ago.”

“Even if that’s true, there’s no way a loser like that could have beaten you up.” Damon added.

“I don’t know how but he’s a completely different person. Even the President of the boxing association knew him and called him Master.” Ryan explained.

“Master?” Damon burst into laughter. “Now I know you must have seen wrong. No one would call a loser like that master.”

Scarlett still felt a beat uneasy. How could William have survived? Why was he back without letting anyone know?

Well, it didn’t matter anyway. He hadn’t claimed the inheritance then so by law the inheritance had already gone to her.

His return wouldn’t change anything. She would still remain the owner of Grey Industries. If he had truly returned, he was still a nobody.

*******

William arrived at the Cedarwood Gala. Rich business men and celebrities from all over where in attendance.

He moved to the VIP section to look for his assigned seat. He found a table with the tag “Asher Knight” and took his seat.

Soon, Sophia and her boyfriend James Dunn arrived at the Gala. James was the sons of the Dunn family.

The Dunn family were bigshots in Crenshaw city having business interests in real estate and construction.

They were also in the VIP section. As they took their seat, Sophia noticed someone seating just across the table.

She had never seen him before. He looked like a very high class person. He wore a custom tailored suit made by Neron. The cheapest of Neron suits were $200,000 dollars.

He also wore a gold watch and black shades. She could tell he was no ordinary man. It wasn’t until after he took off his shades that she noticed that it was William.

William? How could that be William? Ryan was telling the truth. He had really returned to Crenshaw city.

“So it’s true. You are back.” Sophia said with a disgusted look at her face.

William turned his attention to her. He balled his fists in anger when he saw her. Along with Sophia, Jade had constantly humiliated him whenever she got the chance.

However, he wasn’t going to cause a scene here. “Hello Jade.” He said casually.

Her eyes moved towards the name tag where William was seating. ‘Asher Knight’

Jade’s eyes widened. “You piece of shit! What are you doing in Asher Knight’s seat?!”

She looked at his clothes and noticed they looked expensive. “You even stole clothes to pretend to be Asher Knight? You're unbelievable!”

“What’s wrong?” James turned noticing Jade was angry.

“This useless man is pretending to be Asher Knight.”

“This is my seat. I am not pretending to be anyone.” William said angrily.

James turned towards him. He recognized William. “Fool! What do you think you are doing seating there? How did they even let you in here?”

He grabbed William by the collar. “Do you think the Cedarwood Gala is where any dog can just stroll into?”

William's gaze hardened. “Let go off me or you’ll regret it James.”

For an ordinary person, the price tags on the clothes would make them dizzy. A few years ago, William wouldn't have dreamed of walking into a store like this. He wouldn't even be able to afford a pair of socks. When he stayed with the Grey family, they would spare no expense in getting the best clothes. However, for him, they would give him clothes that even the cleaners wouldn't wear. They didn't let him forget his place. He was casually flipping through a $50,000 tailored suit when someone bumped into him. “Oh. I'm sor-” The lady was about to apologize before she stopped abruptly.

You should’ve seen his face when I outbid him on that Ferrari. Classic!” William glanced over. The guy making all the noise was Logan Pierce, a well-known businessman with old money and an even bigger ego. He was dressed in an overpriced Brioni designer suit and a gold Rolex. Around him were beautiful girls and his group of lackeys which helped to feed his ego. He was the kind of guy who believed money made him untouchable. How?” “I have gained a particular set of skills that would help you greatly. I can hack into almost any system in the world and build high tech programs” Roland continued. “I've researched you and I know you have a vendetta against the Grey family. I'd like to help you in your mission.” William raised his eyebrow. “How can I trust you?” Roland's expression turned serious. “Although I am eternally grateful that you saved my life, I also need your help with something else.” William's voice lowered. “What would that be?” Roland's gaze flickered to the ground before meeting William again. “You were able to leave the Legolas army. [ 3 years ago, Legolas Army base] The soldiers gathered around for a briefing on their next mission. William was among those chosen for the expedition. It was his first official mission as a member of the Legolas army. General Ryker stood in front of them communicating his orders. “We've been contracted to eliminate a war criminal known as Robinson Tradwell.” Since the Legolas army was a private army, they weren't interested in the details of what their employers wanted as long as they got paid. Ryker pulled up a map on the large screen behind them. “The Intel reaching us is that he and his men are trying to escape and are currently in the Rhunakis desert.” “Remember, this is a clean mission, and there must be no witnesses. We move in and we take out the target. Is that understood?” “Sir, yes sir!” The soldiers roared in unison. The team of six including the general set out in their chopper at night. As they flew nearer to the drop point, William grew increasingly nervous.

I don't want her dragged into this in any way.” "No. I told Miss Martha to stay in as you're having a very important meeting." Roland responded. "Good." William and Natasha knew each other from his time in the Legolas army. Natasha was one of General Ryker's most trusted intelligence operatives. However, this visit wasn't about old memories. The general had sent her for a reason. Natasha sat with her feet crossed having a drink when William walked into the room. “William! It's been too long. The general sends his regards.” she said with a light tone. William smiled. “It's not even been up to a year. Did you miss me that much?” “Let me guess. He wants you to bab

"I thought they used to be round? You've always worn round glasses.” William stomach tightened. He had put on his special glasses for recording and forgot that Leblanc didn't wear square shaped glasses. “Oh.” William chuckled nervously rubbing the back of his neck “Just wanted to try something different.” Sophia stared for a second longer before shrugging lazily. “Hmmm…Alright. You may leave.” She said dismissively before returning back to her phone. William exhaled sharply the moment he stepped out. Next, he had to figure out the perfect way to expose the video of Sophia confessing. Sophia's birthday was coming up and she always loved to throw big parties where she would host popular names from all over. William decided that that would be t

“Yes.” William replied. “ His name is Leblanc. He works for the Grey family, and there's no way he's going to admit that Sophia sent him, he's way too loyal.” “So how do we prove that this was Sophia's doing?” Roland asked. William's voice lowered. Is Project Chameleon finally ready for launch? Roland's eyes widened. “You mean….” A wicked smirk formed on William's lips. “Yes, I'm going to beat Sophia at her own game.” Project Chameleon was a secret high tech project being carried out by Knight Industries. They had been working on a highly sophisticated AI mask that made it possible for the wearer to assume any face they wanted. It even had the ability to change the voice of the person who was wearing it. William had been planning to use it for something else, but because of this, he was going to use it early. “So you're going to act as Leblanc?” Roland asked. “Yes. I'm going to trick Sophia into confessing that she was responsible for those images.” William replied.

I'll get right on it.” Martha glanced at William with uncertainty. “Where are we going?” “I'm talking you to my place. You can lay low there for now, at least until we can take care of this.” Soon they arrived at William's penthouse apartment. I'll be in the other room if you need me.” “Thank you so much.” Martha said softly. About an hour later, Roland returned with news about the images. He

A slim man wearing glasses walked into the room hesitantly. “Miss Sophia” he greeted cautiously. “Did you get what I asked?” Sophia demanded. The man nodded. “Yes, but Miss Sophia, are you sure about this? If this goes wrong…” Sophia cut him off. “Listen, your job isn't to question me. You do what I pay you for and shut up.” The man handed a tablet over to her. She smiled wickedly as she scrolled through. “Yes. This is very good.” Sophia picked up her phone and anonymously messaged the top gossip reporters in Crenshaw city. "I have a juicy story for you all. A rising actress who isn’t as innocent as she pretends to be. Interested?" Within seconds, replies flooded in. "Depends on what you have."

The judge hesitated before speaking. “The committee was persuaded to do the right thing.” Sophia raised an eyebrow. “Persuaded? That doesn't answer my question!” William chuckled, shaking his head. "You bribed them. I simply reminded them what would happen if they accepted dirty money."
