We Are A Family

The driver was convinced and kept driving; it wasn't long before he arrived at the destination, and Enzo walked down before paying.

He looked around, and the place still looked the same. Since it was very early in the morning, a lot of places were still closed, including Suzy’s store.

So Enzo walked a few miles before arriving at Suzy’s place. He knocked on the door, and after a few knocks, the door pulled open. "Enzo,” Suzy gasped in shock.

She hugged him tightly before staring around and saying, “Come in.” They both walked in, and she locked the door.

“How have you been? You shouldn't have come back,” she said in a worried tone. Just yesterday, she noticed that Leo and his men were keeping an eye on her because they expected Enzo to show up at her doorstep; luckily, she sent them away.

“I am fine; everything will be fine tomorrow,” Enzo assured her, and she got confused.

“Antonio, the one who framed me, has decided to give himself up. Everyone will know I have a twin brother who is the shadow, and I am Sergeant Enzo Marino.”

“Do you both look that identical?” She had heard of identical twins, but there should be something to differentiate them; they can’t just be the same.

“I was shocked as well, and now even Leo is in my tail. He betrayed me."

“At first, I was mad at him, but I got to realize that it’s his job; he had no idea it wasn't you in the video." Suzy was so ignorant, and that's what made her the weakest among them.

“Leo saw me with Antonio; he stood right in front of us.”

Suzy’s eyes widened in shock. Leo knew all along that Enzo had a twin, and he didn’t help him.

"Holy Mary” Suzy sighed in disbelief. She never expected such from Leo; they were a family.

"So what will you do now? What if Antonio can't be trusted?”

“He will show up tomorrow,” Enzo said with full confidence. With the short time he spent with Antonio, he kind of started to trust him.

*ding

The doorbell rang, and they both became alert. “Are you expecting someone at this hour?” he asked, and Suzy shook her head in denial. Maybe it was her neighbor.

“Go hide.” Enzo hurried and hid in her bedroom while she pulled the door open.

“Good morning, Suzy." Leo stood there with an emotionless face. What the heck was he doing there?

Suzy was so nervous that she didn’t know how to act normally. "Leo,” she called before looking at her sitting room.

"What are you doing here?” she asked once she found her voice.

"I was in the neighborhood and decided to stop by; can I come in?”

"No,” she blurted.

“I mean, I am going out now, so you can’t come in.”

"At this hour?” Leo frowned before taking out his gun. He pushed Suzy inside and closed the door.

“What are you doing?” Suzy asked angrily, and he pointed the gun at her.

“Enzo, come out now,” Leo said. Suzy was shocked. How did he find out that Enzo was here? Has he been following her again, even after she warned him?

“Enzo isn't here,” she tried to cover up, but Leo had seen Enzo walk in with his own two eyes, so she couldn't fool him.

“At the count of three, if he doesn't come out, then I will have to resolve to violent manners.”

“You can’t shoot me," Suzy said with full confidence, they were like siblings and had lived all their lives together, so how could he hurt her?

“I am sure Enzo thinks otherwise.”

Enzo frowned. If Leo was able to betray him, then he could harm Suzy. He looked around and picked up a stick. He had to escape with Suzy before Leo’s men arrived.

“We are a family; why?” Tears rolled down Suzy’s cheeks. They all grew up in the orphanage, so shouldn't they be caring for each other?

“You chose him over me, so don't call me your family.”

“What do you mean by chose?"I would have taken your side if you were in his position,” she scolded angrily, and Leo didn't know what to say. He just gets mad when everyone says Enzo is the good one and he is the bad one.

“Leo, we could solve this. Instead, let's look for a way to catch Antonio; he is the enemy and not Enzo,” Suzy explained, and Leo sneered, Antonio was a weirdo and also a scary person. He doesn't want to plan anything for him; he aims to get the promotion promised to him by the colonel, and he can only get that if he arrests Enzo.

"One,” he started the countdown, and Suzy got so scared that she even forgot to breathe.

“Two”

Enzo held the stick tightly and slowly walked out of the bedroom. "Three,” Leo said and charged his gun. Enzo quickly jumped towards Leo and hit him with the stick.

“Ahh” Leo winced in pain, but he was too fast to push Enzo and point the gun at him.

“Hands up,” he ordered angrily when Suzy hurried and stood in front of Enzo.

“Don't hurt him,” she said. Enzo was shocked by her actions because he knew she was weak and naive, but this weak girl was shielding him from a gun.

“Suzy move,” Leo said, but she shook her head in denial. “Let’s talk; we are a family,” she pleaded, and Enzo sighed. Was all this worth it?

Antonio was going to give up himself tomorrow. “I give up; take me with you,” Enzo said as he placed both his hands in the air.

Leo got alerted; was he trying to play tricks on him or what? To see if he was serious, Leo threw the cuff at him. “Cuff yourself at the table if, indeed, you are giving up.”

“No, don't do that. You should run,” said Suzy, but Enzo wasn't planning on running; he wasn't a criminal or a serial killer.

"Fine,” he picked up the handcuffs and walked to the table, cuffed his hand with one side, and cuffed the other side on the table. "Done.”
