CHAPTER SIX
The Alarm Damien had set for his class blared waking him up.
He gently got up from the bed, even when he was exhausted and his body was in pain, he still chose to go to school, little did he know the day had a lot in store for him.
Damien got to the school faster than he had imagined and he felt very elated that he hadn't missed the lecture even after the struggle and all the bustle he went through in order to board a bus.
He had the intention of walking down to school in the cold but he was lucky to have found some money in his pants.
He stepped into the school and he noticed the pointing and snide remarks thrown at him, although it was not made pointedly but he knew they were all talking about him. He couldn't blame them, the news had circulated with the help of the national TV.
He sighed then raised his chin up as he boldly went into the school building heading to the classroom.
He stepped into the classroom and murmurs roared in the air. They were all talking about him. He wasn't really bothered since he never caught their statements, he didn't know what they had said about him.
The lecturer stepped into the classroom and the murmurs and chatters ceased.
Damien was thankful that the lecturer had arrived on time, the hateful looks and glances thrown at him didn't cease but at least the murmurs had died down.
The professor began his class and Damien brought out his notebook and focused on the lecturer, removing all thoughts from his mind and focused on the professor.
The professor had just left the class and everywhere was rowdy again. They were free for the next two hours before the next class.
Damien decided to make use of the opportunity to get something into his stomach since he hadn't eaten anything in the morning. It was the dried bread he had eaten last night that has sustained him.
His stomach was making loud grumble noises at him and he quickly walked towards the cafectaria. He wondered how he was even able to concentrate during the class.
He was really hungry, he wondered how long he would last if he didn't get something to eat right away, he felt weak both from starvation and exhaustion not to talk about the pains he felt all over.
Fortunately the pain relieve and ointment he had used last night was really active, his face wasn't as swollen as it was earlier in the day.
Damien immediately got his food and decided to eat outside for he knew no one would ve willing to share a table with him. He noticed Lorenzo from the corner of his eyes but he decided not to acknowledge him.
He wasn't even fully out of the cafecteria when he felt something hard hit his head. He almost lost his balance.
It was a ball that had hit him. A ball that was threw to hit him on purpose. Whoever had threw the ball must had want to add migraine to his already ached body.
"Oops!" A guy from the school popular clique said making funny faces at him. He was the one who had threw the ball at him.
Damien watched as the ball rolled over the ground and another guy standing at the doorway stopped it with his foot.
"We didn't see the 'UNKNOWN GUY' leaving, our bad" another guy who was standing close to the one who had threw the ball at Damien said, smirking at Damien, making almost half of the class burst into wild laughter.
Thes boys were all part of the popular clique in school, they do what they want and get away with anything. Most of their parents were either senators or business moguls. Damien was just opportuned to had gotten a scholarship to be in the same institution as them.
The moment Damien had seen them and the way they were all coming at him now, he knew that he was going to be their next object of ridicule. Hadn't he been one lately anyways.
It was as though they had all waited patiently for the class to be over as everyone had gathered with eager eyes and interests to see him get teased at.
"Heard he is a cleaner too, will you come clean my poop after me" Another voice screamed in the crowd. More laughter and jeers erupted.
"Maybe he could start with my shoes huh, what do you think 'Mr unknown man'" the boy who had threw the ball said.
"Polish them, isn't that what you church mouse are good at huh" the brunette at the door said.
They continued their laughter and jest, taunting him with their comments and his mind was in a choatic jumble. So many voices in his head.
Damien stood still as he washed them kept on with their jest from the corner of his eyes he saw Kai and her friends laughing along with the crowd. A man was standing behind her and from closer inspection he knew it was Parker, he might have heard of the name but he never knew Parker also attend the same school with them.
Too much voice were running in his head, He thought he would run crazy that instant. he wished deeply that he could rush towards the guy who hit him and teach him some lessons but he had learned his lessons, there was no justice for a poor, justuce can only be served if you have thr influence, he figured he would be thrown into jail again and plus, the cops would be so glad to receive him again, this time they might not be nice to him like the last time.
The students held their phones in their hands and one of the students put his phone on speaker with the help of a loud jam box he played the saved video from the national Tv.
Some were pointing their phones to his face. Everyone was watching his misery, his shame and so was Kai.
"As if you could get our miss beauty" A friend of Kai yelled.
"Look at his dressing, what a low life!" Another yelled and more laughter and jeers erupted.
The jeers weren't ceasing anytime soon.
"#Unknown Guy"
"#Rejected By Miss Beauty"
"Rejected by princess Kai"
"I don't know you"
"#Smashed to pieces by Parker Smith"
And so many more hashtags that followed suit. He was indeed trending but for a very horrible reason.
Tears rolled down Damien's eyes he couldnt take it anymore, he couldnt take the humiliation anymore.
He walked out of the cafeteria, while food items and drinks were thriwn on him as he ran. He dashed off in tears not minding if he had hit the guy standing at the doorway. He shouldn't have come here in the first place.
He just wanted to get out of there, out of the whole scene, away from everything and everyone that moment.
He wished deeply that he didn't have anything to do with Kai, he wished he hadn't fall for her and he wished he hadn't gone out to check out the proposal scene that night.
The humiliation was too much for him to handle. He was shattered emotionally, mentally and physically.
CHAPTER SEVENDamien had walked out of the school. He decided to leave earlier, the humiliation and pestering were driving him out of his mind. He walked out in pains and hatred at the people who were the cause of his pains and miseries. He couldn't wait behind to receive the rest of his lectures. Not in that space and also not with everyone reminding him of what a lowlife he was. He glanced down at his clothes, that were covered in all sorts of drinks and food.He was tired already, he couldn’t fathom how people who never knew him held such amount of hate for him. They decided to hate him because he wasn’t rich. He was rich like Parker. He was sure they would also have taken sides with him.Damien thoughts about his parents, he intend to just give up on school and return home. He couldn’t cope in this hellhole. He needed to go to the place where he knew he would be accepted. He noticed someone following him. 'Hasn’t his day been worst already? What more do they intend to do to him?
CHAPTER EIGHT Damien kept on walking, unknown to him, the path he had planned to take had more reporters there than the front door of the building. The reporters who had gotten tips of where ‘the unknown guy' lives all came to the campus in order to get juicy details. It was all Parker’s plan, when he had found out that Damien was in the same school as his and worst of all a scholarship student, he decided to frustrate Damien more after the humiliation he had gotten in the cafeteria. Parker want Damien to leave the school after he has received much embarrassment. Damien came out from the corner, he smiled that he had successfully escaped the bald man when the smile suddenly froze on his lips. More reporters than he had ever seen were at the front of the campus building. He was tired of everything. He stood speechless as the persistent reporters ran towards him like he was honey and they were bees. They began pressing their mics on him, trying to get him to talk. He was frea
CHAPTER NINEThe man chuckled and smiled at the younger man seated beside him."It wasn’t really hard to find you, you've become popular over night, the whole nation knows you” the man said but Damien wasn't satisfied. He decided he would hold out on the questions first until he gets out."I am very grateful for your help out there sir" Damien says appreciating the man kind gesture towards him even if he knew there was a reason behind the help the man had rendered, he was still grateful. The man had saved him from further heart wrecking questioning that he wasn't in the least ready for."I am going to stop here" Damien said. He planned to stop here and find a place to rest, then he would find a way and inform his parents about his recent decision."Oh! No, I need to take you to a place, you need to see something” the man said stopping Damien from getting out of the car."I don't even know you or where you are taking me to and you expect me to just follow you" Damien said in surprise w
CHAPTER TEN When Damien and Charles were done eating at the restaurant, it was already late into the night. Charles took Damien straight to the Silverio’s Mansion situated in one of the most prestigious villas at the heart of the city. Damien was confused as to why Charles decided to bring him here but at the same time, he couldn’t deny not enjoying the thrilling views, he began to admire the whole environment and everything that concerned it. The beauty and serenity blend well with the atmosphere. He kept basking in the beauty view, for a moment, he forgot Charles was a total stranger to him. Their car drove through a huge automated black gate. While they walked from the car park to the main building, Damien already lost count of the numbers of men dressed in black suits they had passed standing at strategic places in the compound. It was late at night but some of the domestic staff were still up, they came across a few of them and they all would stop, bow slightly in a cour
CHAPTER ELEVEN Waking up, everything felt strange! From the soft texture feel of the bedding material that Damien laid, to the spicy exotic fragrance. “Did he really sleep in a room like this for the night?” Damien wondered. Everything felt like a mirage. Damien was startled when a knock sounded on the door. “Good morning Sir Damien,'’ A lady's voice greeted from the other side of the door. "Good morning" Damien responded in a rough voice, he was still laden with sleep. When Damien noticed the person wasn't going away any time soon, he decided to let them in and put his bath and questioning on hold. “Please come in,” Damien called out. He sluggishly moved up into a sitting posture while he waited for the person to come in. The door clicked open and a young lady, nicely dressed in a black dress and a white apron came in with a tray in her hand. Damien stared at her as she placed the tray of meal on the table. "This is your breakfast sir Damien" she said and Damien nodded ton
CHAPTER 12Gabriel Silverio walked into the room with a deep frown etched on his face, he glanced at them hoping what he heard was wrong.“Whose son is he?” He repeated his question again.“Oh, Gabriel, can you believe this? We have found Jason” Don Romano turned towards his brother.“It was such a coincidence, I can’t believe after so many years, I would still see my Jason here” Mrs. Silverio said.Damien was getting uncomfortable about the discussion, it hasn’t seat well with him yet that he is the son of one of the prominent men in America. He couldn’t believe he is a Silverio, a name he has held countless times, a name that parts ways for people, he has the blood of a Silverio running through his veins.“I can’t believe this brother, we all thought Jason was dead and he is here in the flesh standing right in front of us” Gabriel said, staring at Damien, observing the uncanny resemblance between the man standing right in front of him and his brother.“I, uhm, I think I have to go
THE SILVERIO'S HEIRCHAPTER THIRTEENDamien hadn’t taken up to ten steps towards the dormitory entrance when a gruff and hallowed voice halted him on his track.“Well! well!! well!! look who we have here, the UNKNOWN GUY is back”. A jeering and sarcastic statement was the least thing he had expected now. He ignored the statement and tried to walk into his dormitory but the guys who were jeering at him didn't give him the space to walk in as the pulled him by his collar.Damien gritted his teeth and clenched his fists in anger. More of the students began to trop out from their dorms to come watch the drama unfolds.“He’s not backing down, is he?”. One of the guys said with a disdain and loathing looks on his face.“He was drove here by a luxurious car. It could be he has already been paid for tarnishing Miss. Beauty's image.” They were referring to the car that drove him to the entrance, they had seen it. A clear sign, they were on the lookout for him.“Come on, tell us, did you steal
THE SILVERIO’S HEIRCHAPTER FOURTEEN.Damien, who had first requested to be taken to the Silverio’s mansion had decided to take a detour first. He had told Charles to take him to his favorite spot. Fortunately for him, the beach was free of crowds and he sat there deep in his thoughts.“Should I leave you alone sir Damien?” Charles asked, bringing Damien back to the present.“No, no, Charles, it’s fine. Please take a seat” Damien patted the empty sandy space beside him and Charles who had no choice reluctantly sat down.Charles, who had witnessed the cruelty Damien had gone through, had wanted him to be strong but he began to doubt his wish when he began to see the cold exterior Damien possessed.“You are Don Romano right hand man right?” Damien asked, still staring far ahead into the sea.“Yes” Charles replied, he was confused as to why Damien would ask him such a question, when Damien was fully aware who he was to Don Romano.“Correct me if I am wrong. You must have known everything
