CHAPTER EIGHT
Damien kept on walking, unknown to him, the path he had planned to take had more reporters there than the front door of the building.
The reporters who had gotten tips of where ‘the unknown guy' lives all came to the campus in order to get juicy details.
It was all Parker’s plan, when he had found out that Damien was in the same school as his and worst of all a scholarship student, he decided to frustrate Damien more after the humiliation he had gotten in the cafeteria.
Parker want Damien to leave the school after he has received much embarrassment.
Damien came out from the corner, he smiled that he had successfully escaped the bald man when the smile suddenly froze on his lips.
More reporters than he had ever seen were at the front of the campus building.
He was tired of everything. He stood speechless as the persistent reporters ran towards him like he was honey and they were bees.
They began pressing their mics on him, trying to get him to talk.
He was freaking weak from lack of food and exhaustion, he could faint soon. He didn't know how but he knew he needed to escape them by all means.
Damien wondered if what he was encountering with the paparazzi was normal. He knew he couldn’t do anything but this was harassment.
“Get lost okay, I won’t say anything to you all, you can air whatever you like I don’t care anymore” Damien screamed out in anger. Hot angry tears rolled down his cheeks.
This was all too much for Damien, never in his life has he felt this worthless and helpless.
A black beautiful SUV car swerved into the scene that instantly scared the reporters and they quickly moved backwards as they didn't want to get hit by the car whose driver didn’t bother about them.
"Get in” the stranger said as he opened the door of the car for Damien.
Damien stared at him in confusion. Who was the man talking to, he knew better that the rich man would definitely not want anything from him, so he wasn’t the one he was talking to.
"Come on get in, if you want to get out of here I suggest you get in" the man said to a confused Damien who was standing shocked and wondering why this young man had intended to help him escape the reporters.
"Let's get you away from these pests," he said loudly, referring to the reporters who were now watching in confusion at the turnout of events.
Some of the reporters believed the man could be the one who had sent Damien to jeopardize Miss Beauty’s reputation.
"Who is he?" Damien heard one of the reporter’s ask.
The reporters focused their camera on the SUV. They want to capture the image of the man who had got Damien into the car but they were unsuccessful but they kept on trying.
“Look, it’s either you get in to save your ass or I leave, I won’t risk being in the media for you” the man said hurriedly.
His boss had specifically told him not to get caught by the media, they didn’t want the limelight on them yet.
Damien didn’t hesitate anymore as he noticed the reporters were not giving up. He slid into the vehicle, shutting the door tight.
The man quickly ignites the car he drives off away from the pests.
Damien stared at the stranger as lot’s of questions ran through his mind but first he would wait until he is successfully away from the reporters.
He sighed in relief as he rested his car on the car seat. Someone had saved him and had taken him away from that hell of a place.
Damien threw glances at the interiors of the car. it was actually the first time he had entered one like this.
He glanced at the rear mirror and spotted some of the reporters were staring wide-eyed in shock at them, while some of the reporters who never got tired of scoops were still running after the vehicle as it drove off to try to take pictures of them.
*****
The car had gone far in sight from the reporters and Damien couldn't help but sit back in relief. He was glad that he got away from the nosy reporters. All needed to do now was to inform his parents about his return home.
He turned his attention to the man who was sitting right beside him in the driver's seat. He watched in awe as the stranger drove the car with so much skill and dexterity.
The man’s brows were scrunched up in concentration as he was professionally maneuvering his way across other cars on the busy road.
'Who is he? And where is he taking me to? Damien wondered as he stared at the man. What if he was a kidnapper? And he had willingly got into his car. But a kidnapper wouldn’t make him get into the car right in front of all those press.
Damien let out an audible sigh, he doesn’t care anymore, if the man was a kidnapper he doesn’t care, besides not even his parents would be able to afford the ransom if the man proved to be a kidnapper.
"I know a thousand and one questions are probably running through your mind right now, Damien,” the man said to Damien without taking his eyes off the road.
'How does he know my name?' Damien thought feeling wary. How had he even come to save him in the first place and why? If he knew his name, then he must have known about him since after all those who had just found out about him call him the ‘unknown guy'.
"As a matter of fact, yes, first of all who are you and how do you know my name?" He asked the man.
Damien stared at the man in caution, although he said he doesn’t care but the fear of being in danger supersedes the indifference attitude he might have developed earlier.
The man seemed to be in his mid-thirties. His dressing was very elegant not to talk about the car, his sounded way too posh to be just some regular guy, Damien knew he wasn’t just your everyday guy, the guy was rich and that was what brought more concerns to him.
The mess he had just gotten into was because of a rich dude and now he has stepped into the hold of another rich dude.
"How did you find me? How did you know where exactly I would be?” Damien asked again. He was beginning to become suspicious of everything.
CHAPTER NINEThe man chuckled and smiled at the younger man seated beside him."It wasn’t really hard to find you, you've become popular over night, the whole nation knows you” the man said but Damien wasn't satisfied. He decided he would hold out on the questions first until he gets out."I am very grateful for your help out there sir" Damien says appreciating the man kind gesture towards him even if he knew there was a reason behind the help the man had rendered, he was still grateful. The man had saved him from further heart wrecking questioning that he wasn't in the least ready for."I am going to stop here" Damien said. He planned to stop here and find a place to rest, then he would find a way and inform his parents about his recent decision."Oh! No, I need to take you to a place, you need to see something” the man said stopping Damien from getting out of the car."I don't even know you or where you are taking me to and you expect me to just follow you" Damien said in surprise w
CHAPTER TEN When Damien and Charles were done eating at the restaurant, it was already late into the night. Charles took Damien straight to the Silverio’s Mansion situated in one of the most prestigious villas at the heart of the city. Damien was confused as to why Charles decided to bring him here but at the same time, he couldn’t deny not enjoying the thrilling views, he began to admire the whole environment and everything that concerned it. The beauty and serenity blend well with the atmosphere. He kept basking in the beauty view, for a moment, he forgot Charles was a total stranger to him. Their car drove through a huge automated black gate. While they walked from the car park to the main building, Damien already lost count of the numbers of men dressed in black suits they had passed standing at strategic places in the compound. It was late at night but some of the domestic staff were still up, they came across a few of them and they all would stop, bow slightly in a cour
CHAPTER ELEVEN Waking up, everything felt strange! From the soft texture feel of the bedding material that Damien laid, to the spicy exotic fragrance. “Did he really sleep in a room like this for the night?” Damien wondered. Everything felt like a mirage. Damien was startled when a knock sounded on the door. “Good morning Sir Damien,'’ A lady's voice greeted from the other side of the door. "Good morning" Damien responded in a rough voice, he was still laden with sleep. When Damien noticed the person wasn't going away any time soon, he decided to let them in and put his bath and questioning on hold. “Please come in,” Damien called out. He sluggishly moved up into a sitting posture while he waited for the person to come in. The door clicked open and a young lady, nicely dressed in a black dress and a white apron came in with a tray in her hand. Damien stared at her as she placed the tray of meal on the table. "This is your breakfast sir Damien" she said and Damien nodded ton
CHAPTER 12Gabriel Silverio walked into the room with a deep frown etched on his face, he glanced at them hoping what he heard was wrong.“Whose son is he?” He repeated his question again.“Oh, Gabriel, can you believe this? We have found Jason” Don Romano turned towards his brother.“It was such a coincidence, I can’t believe after so many years, I would still see my Jason here” Mrs. Silverio said.Damien was getting uncomfortable about the discussion, it hasn’t seat well with him yet that he is the son of one of the prominent men in America. He couldn’t believe he is a Silverio, a name he has held countless times, a name that parts ways for people, he has the blood of a Silverio running through his veins.“I can’t believe this brother, we all thought Jason was dead and he is here in the flesh standing right in front of us” Gabriel said, staring at Damien, observing the uncanny resemblance between the man standing right in front of him and his brother.“I, uhm, I think I have to go
THE SILVERIO'S HEIRCHAPTER THIRTEENDamien hadn’t taken up to ten steps towards the dormitory entrance when a gruff and hallowed voice halted him on his track.“Well! well!! well!! look who we have here, the UNKNOWN GUY is back”. A jeering and sarcastic statement was the least thing he had expected now. He ignored the statement and tried to walk into his dormitory but the guys who were jeering at him didn't give him the space to walk in as the pulled him by his collar.Damien gritted his teeth and clenched his fists in anger. More of the students began to trop out from their dorms to come watch the drama unfolds.“He’s not backing down, is he?”. One of the guys said with a disdain and loathing looks on his face.“He was drove here by a luxurious car. It could be he has already been paid for tarnishing Miss. Beauty's image.” They were referring to the car that drove him to the entrance, they had seen it. A clear sign, they were on the lookout for him.“Come on, tell us, did you steal
THE SILVERIO’S HEIRCHAPTER FOURTEEN.Damien, who had first requested to be taken to the Silverio’s mansion had decided to take a detour first. He had told Charles to take him to his favorite spot. Fortunately for him, the beach was free of crowds and he sat there deep in his thoughts.“Should I leave you alone sir Damien?” Charles asked, bringing Damien back to the present.“No, no, Charles, it’s fine. Please take a seat” Damien patted the empty sandy space beside him and Charles who had no choice reluctantly sat down.Charles, who had witnessed the cruelty Damien had gone through, had wanted him to be strong but he began to doubt his wish when he began to see the cold exterior Damien possessed.“You are Don Romano right hand man right?” Damien asked, still staring far ahead into the sea.“Yes” Charles replied, he was confused as to why Damien would ask him such a question, when Damien was fully aware who he was to Don Romano.“Correct me if I am wrong. You must have known everything
THE SILVERIO'S HEIRCHAPTER FIFTEENThe steam heat from the shower and droplets of water trickled down the coverage see-through glass of the bathroom door where Damien was having his bath slid open with him walking out with a towel tied around his torso. The shower had felt good on his body as he felt a lot better. The wounds and bruises were almost gone, only a few tiny little scars. At first, he was scared that the scars would never go away.Mrs. Silverio had assured him it would fade away when she had come into his room last night and had spoken to him.“But for it to completely heal, you will need to apply some ointments which I will provide for you,” She had supplied him with almost all the healing herbs she owned. Which made him wonder if she knew he was going to come running back to them.“Stop thinking about all these Damien and focus on the plan”. He muttered to himself and went on to apply the ointments and other items, to get himself ready for the day.Mr. Don Romano, his
THE SILVERIO’S HEIRCHAPTER SIXTEENDamien’s face was squeezed into knots as he frowned as two ladies kept working on his hair and two others worked on both his feet and hands separately. He was discomforted but needed to put up a face and endure the torture being administered to him under the façade appearance of spa treatments. He wondered if this was what ladies and most especially the ones who were able to come here go through.“Just how much longer does this have to take?”. Damien grunted under his breath. He was beginning to feel irritated with so many hands working on his body.“Pardon Sir, we will be done in some minutes"A polite voice of one of the lady attendants answered but Damien was sure that was far from being true. After some time, Damien began to feel relaxed as It looked like they were already putting a finishing touch on his face, “Here sir, we are done”. The lady that had earlier spoken, announced to Damien taking off the covering on his face after ten more minutes
