Chapter 1: The New Sixth Lord

“Here’s to lord Emerich 100 years as the keeper of peace”

Loud cheers ripped across the rather heavily occupied hall. 100 years ago the first vampire, one of the five military forces governing the supernatural world decided they had enough blood on their hands, and thus the first ever unity, also known as the peace trinity was brought into existence.

A man with blond hair and crimson eyes stepped onto the stage, his face expressing nothing but bliss. As the first vampire to be recognized as the strongest military force Emerich felt proud to be a revolutionary figure in each race's progression

Squeals from fan girls tore through the roof as Emerich took a stand on the pedestal beside a woman with crimson hair and equally crimson eyes.

Sebastian’s onyx eyes stared at the pedestal, his eyes were heavily focused on Emerich, most importantly where his hand was. He gritted his teeth, he knew that the woman he called wife did not care one bit about his emotions, the triumphant look directed his way was a clear indication that what she was doing was purposeful; looking to get a reaction from him.

Balling his hand into a fist Sebastian composed himself. He needed to show no emotions at the moment, he was just going to watch as his wife allowed another man to touch her body in ways he had never touched her in their 3 years of marriage.

“Oi errand boy pass me a drink, I want to drink, be fast as well.”

Sebastian nodded and excused himself from the crowd going to collect what was asked of him.

He returned shortly and weaved his way through the crowd, the tray of drinks put above his head as he did not want to get the guest dirty.

Sebastian reached his destination and was about to offer the drink to the person who requested it when laughter, mocking laughter settled in his ears.

“If it isn’t the son-in-law, how is it watching the girl you call wife be clingy on another man.”

Sebastian narrowed his eyes, “I believe I brought what you wanted if that's all I'll be taking my leave, enjoy your night.”

He turned around to leave only to be stopped by a hand grasping his shoulder tightly. Sebastian looked over his shoulder and saw the man in the suit smirking.

“Hey that's not how a friend behaves around another friend is it?”

Sebastian scoffed in disgust, the man behind him was no friend. He was the first one to mock him when he failed to pass in the school of alchemy, the person he had grown with turned to be a backstabber who was quick to smear his name.

“Last time I don't remember having any friends Sir. Merrill, please unhanded me,”

His reply caused fury to spike in the eyes of the man behind him; the chattering of curious guests who were spectating the scene he made, gave Kain a bad impression.

“ You impudent, no name son of a whore,” Kain growled in a low tone.

The tone was loud enough for Sebastian to hear.

And that was all that was needed for Sebastian to go still.

In a blink of an eye, the tray he had in his hand flew across the air and struck Kain in the face. “Never mention my mother or I'll kill you,”

The action Sebastian took, and the declaration he made toward the first child of Laukey Merrill, one of the greatest alchemy users made the spectators gasp in shock.

A nobody had dared to strike a noble.

Some were already picturing the headline, The live-in Son-in-law of the Hearthrom family promises to kill the first son of the Merrill family.

The scoop of the week that was.

One person was not happy about what had happened.

She had a scowl marrying her angelic face, a scowl from witnessing the commotion caused by her incompetent husband.

“I thought I told you to not draw attention to yourself,” She seethed unable to do a thing.

Sebastian glanced around him, he had done what he had promised not to do.

Draw attention to himself.

But in all honesty, it was not his fault that the man before him had a fragile ego. Sebastian Bloodwyn was not one to be goaded into reckless actions unless his mother, was used.

“Apologize to Lord Kain,”

Sebastian turned around only to be held by the scalp and forced down on his knees.

He slowly adjusted his head to look behind him, to see who had brought him to his knees, and to his surprise, he saw those crimson eyes that he made a bow to protect.

His eyes went wide momentarily.

He did not understand.

Why was he the one to befall such misfortune?

First used as a scapegoat.

Then mistreated by his in-laws because they did not like him.

Emotionally, physically and psychologically tormented by the woman he was supposed to love.

Sebastian felt something he had never felt in a long time, something came over his heart.

It was cold and unforgiving. Almost as if ice was covering every inch, every cranny turning his once beating heart to stone.

“What are you waiting for? Apologize,”

Sebastian heard Leona speak, but his pride as a man refused to allow him to apologize when he was never in the wrong.

He took a glance at the man standing before him and saw that victorious gleam in his eyes.

“No!”

The mutterings in the hall ceased entirely.

Some did not believe their ears.

Sebastian had just refused an order from the Empress of Lycoris City.

Leona raised her hand and was about to strike Sebastian when a hand stopped her.

She gasped, eyes wide open. Sebastian had never rebelled against her, he had done whatever she wanted him to do until now.

Sebastian felt pain in his heart, he devoted himself to loving her after their arranged marriage three years ago. Sacrificed almost everything to make her happy, but she spat everything in his face.

Sebastian got to his feet and turned to look at Leona, his eyes glaring daggers at her while brimming with tears. “I sacrificed for you, I wanted to make you happy even if our marriage was nothing but a hoax, to make people believe.”

“Every time you would shoot down my advances, watch as your mother and relatives treat me like absolute garbage. Not once have you heard me complain, do you know why?”

Leona was speechless, her eyes roamed around trying to absorb as much detail from everyone's facial expressions as much as possible.

Sebastian took her silence as her refusing to ask him Why!, he carried on. “I didn't complain because I was trying to love you. You were beautiful from the first moment I met you... But as they say, don't judge a book by its cover.”

Sebastian released her wrist and made his way across the crowd, his destination being the exit. He did not want to be there, looking at Leona made his heart hurt.

“You stop there! How dare you treat my daughter this one? Take one more step and consider yourself not welcome,” A voice alerted Sebastian who stopped in his tracks and looked at the owner.

“I was never welcomed here in the first place,” He replied and left the hall.

On his departure, the once jovial hall was in utter silence, many not believing what had just happened moments ago.

Outside, the moon shone brightly across Lycoris city. Sebastian looked at the sky and couldn't help but feel at ease when looking at the stars blending in with the midnight blue sky. Out of reach for people.

He closed his eyes briefly and shoved his hands into his pocket. Sebastian retrieved a box of cigarettes from the confines of the pocket and lit one up. The smoke he was puffing cleared his mind, making him forget a bit about what had just happened.

“Since I have nowhere to go now, I might as well as take a walk,” He mused to himself with a chuckle escaping his lips.

Sebastian left the Lincolnshire family house grounds and found himself roaming the rather quiet streets of Lycoris. In, the distance he could see the mainland that was connected to the floating island city he called home. The flickering lights of Minato ward in Tokyo, in the distance were a sight to behold.

He walked in silence, the soot from the cigarette still billowing out from the corners of his mouth with every breath he exhaled. Sebastian shoved his hand into his pockets, wondering to himself what he was going to do now that he was no longer welcomed into the Lincolnshire family.

            ***

“Come forth! Kaien!!!” A feminine voice echoed through the industrial buildings a street block away from where Sebastian was.

Lightning struck from the heavens and the metallic buildings surrounding the female with blond hair, and cyan eyes. The lightning left a crater where one of the buildings was and in the center was a white mane tiger easily the size of a full house, the tiger had blue eyes and a body made from lightning.

With the presence of the tiger, lightning fluctuated striking everything around it heating the atmosphere concurrently, and causing storm clouds to converge.

All across the city, heavy thunderstorms and supernatural fluctuation alerts boisterously rang out alerting humans and supernaturals alike about the possible evacuation.

“There he is, Kaien the thunder God tiger! I'm impressed Belladonna, for an Anomaly you possess rather strong familiars, I don't think the first chaos lord has this strength.” A man with black hair appeared above the roof of the building to Belladonna's right.

He wore a crimson two-piece suit and a bucket hat, in his right hand was a cane, and behind him was a gourd that glowed golden. His black eyes stared at the woman and the tiger below, after that long he managed to track her down and he was going to put an end to her reign.

Belladonna glared at the man above her, she coughed and blood escaped her mouth spilling onto the ground. She brought her hand to her stomach where a gaping hole was and she smirked. “It doesn't matter what he has, I'm not dying here,”

The man heard her remark and chuckled as he took a step off the building. He ceremoniously landed on the ground and pointed his finger at Belladonna “You aren't in a position to be talking like that you know. A gaping hole in the stomach is enough to incapacitate you but if I attack your core, even an immortal like you and me will die.”

He snapped his hand and chains shot from the gourd familiar behind him. The chains skewered the building and landscape reducing it to debris and craters as they made their way to Kaien and Belladonna.

Kaien jumped in front of his master and roared to the top of his lungs emanating a resonating echo that created a thundering clap and strikes of lightning struck the chains setting some of them off trajectory. .

Belladonna gasped as one of the chains bypassed Kaien's defense and pierced her chest, cracking the source core located before her heart. Blood spilled from the wound in quantity and she dropped to one knee, her vision becoming a bit blurry as the blood loss hit her hard.

The man retracted the chains and slowly walked over to Belladonna ignoring Kaien who got surpressed by the chains that were not called into the gourd temporarily nullifying Kaien's abilities and attributes.

“I told you, even an immortal won't survive their core getting damaged. It's a pity that you had to go out like this.”

Belladonna coughed as she looked at the man, she pushed herself to her feet and wobbled as her energy was expended rapidly from the actions she was taking.

“What… what do you want from me, a fifth lord shouldn't be actively hunting out of his domain.”

The man chuckled and grabbed Belladonna's chin “You can say that, but you are the sixth lord of chaos. An Anomaly that wasn't supposed to exist, you are too strong to simply be left alone. Every one of us is inferior to you. A vampire that could shake even heaven itself is scary, best to kill it before its maturity.”

“Haha, that's funny… I didn't… know… that… the fifth lord could be scared by a harmless fletching with only 12 familiars.”

“It doesn't matter if I'm scared or not, you won't exist after this. Just save your breath,”

“But I have… a… surprise for you.” Belladonna smiled a bloody smile, lightning sparked around her and it violently exploded before the man could even react.

She took that opportunity to escape darting away from the scene.

           ***

Sebastian stopped as he saw the lightning strikes and the sirens, he raised his eyebrow and made his way to the source of the lightning and destruction. He turned the corner and he instantaneously jumped into action, he leaned down and caught the wounded Belladonna in his arms. Her blood stained his shirt.

“Miss… can you talk?”

Belladonna opened her eyes and gazed into Sebastian's. She raised her right hand and touched his cheek, a smile formed on her face. “I'm… glad it was you who I could pass my legacy to.”

Legacy?

Pass to?

What she said made no sense to Sebastian who kept covering her chest with his hand to try and stop the blood from flowing more than it already had. “You are talking nonsense, I'll get you to a doctor.”

Belladonna smiled and closed her eyes, her hand fell to her side and from the tips of her toes, she glowed and her body started to crumble into energy that swirled around Sebastian. The energy died down and Sebastian laid on the pavement unconscious.
