Granger sneered at Arthur, he was a pest on his side. He did not know when to give up and walk away, the latter was always meddling in his ambitions acting as a hindrance to his goals. Ever since he got word of him, he had been wary of Arthur, he organized the summit between rankers in an attempt to kill him but that failed too. Arthur reminded Granger of someone. Granger chuckled remembering that one friend he had back in his timeline. He was like the man before him, obnoxious, he never knew when to stop probing into people's businesses until he got killed. Arthur looked at the chuckling man, he raised an eyebrow wondering if the latter had gone senile. “What is so funny?” Granger hummed upon hearing the question, what was funny? He looked up at the ceiling unable to find the right words. He contemplated his choice of speech before he began to reply.“You remind me of someone, a person I held dear to me,” Granger replied reminiscing of the past. Held dear? Those words held mean
Arthur took a look at the gate opened by Linux, his eyes peered through the gate seeing across the dimensions. He knew he made a grave error in calculations but he had to, to match the power of Linux it was imperative for him to release the seal. He flickered across the battlefield and appeared before Linux, he threw a punch at the latter who blocked his punch. Linux kicked Arthur away from her only for the latter to pounce back and be on the assault once again. She diverted and blocked his attacks retaliating with her own. Each time their attacks met, the land shook and the earth split into two. The winds roared as they rippled across the battlefield and the entirety of the globe.Arthur jumped back distancing himself from Linux, he dodged to the side seeing the horde fire attacks where he was standing. He gritted his teeth and looked around him. The army of legions surrounded him, closing every escape route he had. But Arthur was not intimidated, he could deal with a majority o
As Evangelist screamed in the illusion world, her screams escaped her mouth startling the others with her. The woman writhing at their feet startled them, they looked at the woman who was holding her head and looked at Arthur. “What did you do to her?” Lily asked looking at Arthur as she cradled Evangelist in her arms. Concern for the woman flashed in her eyes. She saw how protective Arthur was toward the woman in her hands, he threatened them the first time they met and put himself in harm's way for her safety. So why? Why did he attack her like that? The cause of the mental anguish the woman in her arms was the glowing eyes from Arthur, after they glowed, Evangelist behaved rather oddly for Lily even if she was not around her for a long period of time. Arthur stared at the woman unsympathetically, he felt nothing even when she screamed. Hearing Lily ask what he had done, he stared at Lily as well. “I merely put her in an illusion, if she can't win against her past she's weak
Dante dashed forward, crossing the distance between him and the controlled Arthur in a second. He appeared behind Arthur after he relocated and kicked the latter in the back with enough force to shatter the spine of Arthur. Arthur felt his insides grind up from the attack, it was as if his back was being pressed against his stomach. He could feel the bones cracking from the internal pressure. Arthur staggered forward from the kick and turned around only to receive a boot to the chin uprooting him from his feet, launching him into the air. Dante outstretched his arm and a Chakram blade appeared in the palm, he threw the blade with precision at Arthur aiming to slice the latter's neck clean. Arthur saw the blade and covered his most vulnerable part by bringing his head forward, the Chakram cut through his left eye as it narrowly missed his neck. He landed on the ground and placed a hand on his eye, he had one vision now and he could not focus because he was hearing whispers in his
[Where am I?] [You are locked in the subconscious of your mind by Linux, right now the person using our body is not you.][I... See. So what are we going to do Aether?] [The only thing we had been doing ever since, we fight! With all our strength, I have a feeling that our salvation is coming.] Arthur nodded as he looked at Aether, the main conscience behind his actions. It had been a couple of months, maybe a year, since they last, sat down and had a conversation. [So what's going to happen once you complete your goal? Are you going to return to your home world?] Aether shook his head. There's no world to return to, everything was destroyed by Linux's wrath. He clutched his fists tightly and bit his lip. He was useless. He could not protect what his forefathers gave their lives to protect. He did not deserve to be a sorcerer Supreme. Sanz was better suited for the role but his lack of magical prowess got in the way. Aether has to admit something he had been running from. He
Linux dashed forward and delivered a roundhouse kick to Arthur, the latter blocked the attack with his right forearm and used his left hand to grab Linux's ankle. Arthur twisted his body around generating enough momentum to send Linux flying but instead of releasing his grasp, he smashed the latter on the ground creating a large crater with Linux's body. He was not done, he stabbed his sword near Linux's face and chuckled. The woman was as fast as ever, she managed to narrowly avoid his attack by just an inch when she moved her head. But it did not matter to Arthur, he still had a hold on her ankle. Or so he thought. Linux kicked Arthur on the chin making the latter stagger backward, slightly disoriented from the power behind the blow. Arthur regained his bearing and launched his attack; the black sword in his hand acting as an extension of his reach as he swung it in an attempt to slice through the woman. Linux was nimble on her feet, she easily evaded a majority of the attack
Arthur spectated the interaction until the towering mechanical being hit Linux, he tightened his grip around his sword. Even if the woman was a menace and a thorn in his side, Arthur was not going to stand by and watch her get hurt. He dashes over to Linux and caught her. His gesture startled the woman who was unsure of what to do. She had been trying to ruin him at every chance she got and yet he was there to rescue her when she needed help. Why? Why was he so selfless? Everything was because of her, he lost everything. His friends, his reality, and his home world all because she was following a fool's goal. Linux looked at Arthur, “Why did you help me?” Arthur acknowledged her question but never paid attention to her. His eyes were focused on Arodis, the speed the latter had struck Linux with was something they had yet to deal with. His vision could not track the hand movement of Arodis until Linux was hit and Arthur was positive that he could track even light moving through
As the explosion died down, a bruised Arthur and Linux stood near the edge roots of energy. They held their breaths, anticipating to see the product of their combined effort to defeat the adversary before them. “Insolent fools,” Arodis's voice pierced through the dimensional rift as the last bit of energy circulating where he was dissipated. Arthur and Linux were astounded at the resilience the mechanical monster before them had, the attacks were enough to shake the void realm they were in and cause destruction on a greater scale and yet the target of their attacks only suffered getting his right side blown away. Their shock did not last long as the Qi levels started to rapidly rise, skyrocketing to a point the dimensional rift showed cracks in its edges. “Something is coming” Arthur informed his new comrade. Linux nodded, she could feel the foul Qi resonating around them. Having been connected to the Source, it made it easier for her to detect presences linked to Oblivion. Arod
