As soon as Margaret sees Liam, she stands up from the couch and welcomes him. She collects his briefcase and drops it on the couch. All she know is that the children are still in the house. “How about the children, mum?” Margaret said. “They are inside the bedroom.” “Alright, mum. Has dad returned home?” “No. He should be home before 10 AM. Do you want to wait for him?” “No.” “It’s alright. Have you finished cooking?” “Yes. It’s inside the kitchen,” Margaret said, sitting down on the couch. “Go and serve the table so that we can eat together. “Alright, mum. I shall be back in a couple of minutes.” Margaret stands up from the couch and leaves the sitting room. She ensures that she sets the table before she leaves the dining room.
