Aiden reasoned the offer Katherine had put on the table. Not only was she going take care of the medical bills, but she would also give him a whooping sum of 50,000,000 dollars as a betrothal gift and also pay for his bail. He didn’t want to stay in the cell any longer, it’s only been two days and he hated it. Aiden is dumfound by the question. What the hell was Riley going on about? Blogs were carrying the news that he was engaged to Katherine Anderson? He had only partly agreed to her offer just an hour ago, how had the news started circulating round? “What do you mean, Riley? I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Aiden said, truthfully. Riley scoffed, “Of course you do. Don’t play dumb. This morning, the entertainment channel carried the news of you being engaged to Katherine!” Riley explained and Aiden furrowed his brows. It wasn’t making sense, the dots weren’t connecting. As at this morning, he hadn’t met with Katherine yet talk less of ultimately agreeing to her marriage offer. Katherine’s sleek limousine pulled over in front of the Campbell mansion at exactly 1pm— not one minute late. Aiden was glad that the house was empty, he wouldn’t be able to defend why a limousine had come to pick him up and there was already a matter on ground that he hadn’t settled yet. He entered into the sleek limousine and met with Katherine seated in the vehicle. She had straightened her blonde hair and tied it up in a ponytail and she was wearing a red mini frilly dress with matching coloured lipstick doused on her lips. Aiden couldn’t take his eyes away from how the dress rode up just enough to bare a fair amount of her thighs. Truly, she was a work of art. Apart from Katherine’s succulent thighs, he couldn’t help but admire Katherine’s exquisite taste in vehicles. This limo was amazing! Aiden couldn’t wait to have one of his own. Aiden’s jaw was dropped. His tongue was tied and he had no idea of what to tell Riley. Apparently, someone— most likely thirsty news reporters, had taken a picture of Katherine and Aiden while they were in the restaurant. The person had struck gold by getting a nice shot of the moment Katherine had leaned over and kissed Aiden on his lips. And the picture is now circulating the Internet! Definitely confirming the previous news broadcast. And not only had Riley come across that photo, she had also seen Aiden alight from her limousine and she most likely must’ve seen Katherine lay a kiss on Aiden’s lips because the window had been wined down! Aiden sees that he had been busted and he couldn’t deny it any longer. He had to come clean at this point. “See Riley, I have something to tell you.” “Keep it to yourself, Aiden!” Riley spat angrily. “I don’t want to hear your bullshit lies. Kiera had always known her father was a complete asshole, but he had taken it a notch higher when he fixed his marriage to his mistress, Elaine, on the same day as his wife’s funeral. Kiera’s eyes had gone hollow from non–stop crying and had dark circles underneath. The day of the funeral unfortunately had to be the hottest day in July, yet Kiera chose to maintain her favorite type of outfit, pantsuits. A black pantsuit this time, so she could blend in. Her already grouched mood worsened after one of her aunts had scolded her for deeming it fit to wear a net camisole which bared a fair amount of cleavage to her own mother’s funeral. Aiden was confused and felt embarrassed in regards to the stunt Hope had just pulled off. He knew Katherine would be feeling embarrassed too for what his daughter had just said. Quite frankly, Katherine was more angered than embarrassed; she was angry about what Hope had said. With Hope’s apathy towards she and her father’s marriage, a huge obstructions would me made in her carefully cultivated plans. She was fighting the urge to let the displeased scowl that threatened to show, express on her face. It would hurt Aiden. “I’m really, really sorry Katherine. I’ll go and talk to her right now.” Aiden pleased with Katherine and dashed out after Hope. He found her by one of the entrance pillars, leaned and crouched by it and she sobbed gently. Aiden was moved by his daughter’s tears. He never wanted to see her cry, ever. And he would do everything within his power to prevent it. Aiden was feeling guilty leaving Hope with strangers he knew nothing about. It might be a gamble and he might be endangering her life but he had no other option. He couldn’t drag the already hungry and tired girl about while he sought for money. He hated himself for allowing his daughter sleep with an empty stomach. He made a resolve to never allow it happen again. After wandering about for a while, Aiden came across a nightclub. It looked classy, and he was sure the attendees of the club were all rich and elegant men and women. Luckily for him, he was still in one of the expensive suits Katherine had gotten for him…-:-“Nicholas Moore has been kidnapped.” Thelma repeated to Melissa. Melissa had heard her the first time when she said it, but needed her to repeat it so she would know what she was hearing was true and not a dream. Aiden froze at the spot, thinking of what next to do and what to say to defend himself, obviously he had been caught red handed. “I— I uhm—” He stuttered for words. His lack of speech and confidence was already a dead giveaway that he was guilty. He couldn’t even construct a simple sentence because he was afraid. What would this rich woman do to him? “I’m talking to you, barman. I saw you trying to mix the whisky I ordered with coke. Do you think I can’t handle more alcohol? What right do you have to go that when I didn’t ask for it?” It was then Aiden realized that the woman’s attention wasn’t on him, but was directed at the batman behind him who was adding coke to her whisky to saturate it.
