Aiden froze at the spot, thinking of what next to do and what to say to defend himself, obviously he had been caught red handed.

“I— I uhm—” He stuttered for words. His lack of speech and confidence was already a dead giveaway that he was guilty. He couldn’t even construct a simple sentence because he was afraid. What would this rich woman do to him?

“I’m talking to you, barman. I saw you trying to mix the whisky I ordered with coke. Do you think I can’t handle more alcohol? What right do you have to go that when I didn’t ask for it?” It was then Aiden realized that the woman’s attention wasn’t on him, but was directed at the batman behind him who was adding coke to her whisky to saturate it.

The woman didn’t care about Aiden’s presence. She hadn’t caught him with her purse because she was more focused on the bar man. Aiden heaved a sigh of relief and felt his heart start functioning properly again.
