Aiden couldn’t believe his eyes. Was it really Kiera standing in front of him? Of course it was her, he was sure no other human possessed eyes as pretty as hers, and her facial features were still striking as ever, only that now her dirty–blonde hair now had dark brown highlights and she had straitened her curls. He felt a little disappointed because he loved her deep waves.

“Kiera, it’s me. Aiden.” Aiden smiled, introducing himself to her. She stared back at him with arched brows, quite puzzled as to how he knew that name and how in hell he presumed she would know his.

She was vividly taken aback, “Excuse me sir? How do you know my name?” Her question threw Aiden off and his smile immediately faltered.

“You told me your name almost a month ago or so. I met you in front of an office complex and you told me your name and also gave me twenty dollars as well.” Aiden narrated and she tried to recollect but it wasn’t making sense to her. She couldn’t remember meeting Aiden in front of an

Aiden was very sure that it was Kiera he was just speaking to right now, so how could she say she wasn’t the one? Well, she wasn’t as soft–spoken and nice as she was on the first day he met her, he wondered what caused the drift in her attitude. “Daddy, who was that?” Hope tugged his shirt, asking. Aiden looked down to his daughter, “I don’t know.” He was being truthful, he thought he knew her before but apparently he doesn’t. A hint of a smile played on his lips as he looked at Hope; maybe he was being a bit harsh on her. It’s not her fault Melissa decided to take advantage of his condition. Hope frowned, “That has been your answer to everything, daddy.” The smile played full on Aiden’s lips now as he hoisted Hope up and placed her on his sides. The frown faltered and she giggled. “I’m sorry for yelling at you earlier, dear.” He pecked her cheek. “It’s okay daddy.” She pecked him on his cheek too and giggled. What type of man in his condition— poverty striken, dilapidated and hopeless, openly reject being her husband and the seventy–million dollars she offered him. Aiden was a different breed, definitely. A man of immense integrity because only someone who possesses such would see such a juicy deal and run away from it. But now that he had run away from it, what would she do? Today was already Wednesday, which meant she had only two days until Saturday which was the deadline her father had given his lawyers. And by Saturday, her father’s company that was supposed to be here would be sold to Nathaniel. She heard her phone buzz. Melissa grabbed her handbag and rummaged through, fishing out her phone. It was a new text and her face immediately scowled when she saw who the sender was. “Count down: Two days to go. That’s forty–eig

Melissa’s felt her firsts clench at the mention of Nathan’s name. “I know he bribed you into this, Katherine. You wouldn’t do this without an external force. Is your father even aware?” “Does it matter whether or not my father is aware? And if you want answers so much, why don’t you ask Nathan.” “That conniving bastard, I’m going to sue Nathan till he has no penny left.” Melissa resolved and Katherine laughed. “You really like throwing that word around, right? So do it, sue Nathan. And I know you’re fully aware the type of man he is. He has never ever lost a law suit. He knows how to maneuver his way, so you might be the one loosing all your money.” Katherine stated and Melissa’s anger doubled because Nathan was a fucking thorn in the flesh and also because Katherine was right, there was no winning against him. But there had to be a way around this. Which meant she had to speak to Nathan. “Fuck you, Katherine.” Melissa spat and Katherine rolled her eyes with a chuckle. Melissa p

The room erupted with surprised gasps at the sight of Aiden— only that he wasn’t JUST Aiden, he was completely different than the last time they saw him, and that just a few days ago. His black hair had been styled differently, groomed to suit his new upgrade in status. It was a hairstyle that seemed tousled, but in a eye–catching and richly way that made him look so captivating and drool–worthy. His enigmatic aquamarine eyes shimmered, never looking more mesmerizing as they did now because they aligned so much with his new hairstyle But there was something different about those green orbs of his; previously, they looked so sad and hopeless, poverty–inclided and didn’t shine as bright as they did this moment. But now, those eyes has perked up, possession with confidence, complacency and a gaze that spoke wealth and affluence, even though it was barely a day old. What money can do! His red suit looked three times more expensive than anything in Lady Elizabeth’s closet, the costs o

The four men’s attention was alerted the moment the door opened and Aiden stepped in, his two bodyguards followed behind him— all three of them in dark shades, the bodyguards in all–black suits and Aiden was still in his dazzling red suit, after all, he had come back here right after he was done with the Campbells. “General! Nice to have you back.” Gabriel said as the four men got up as Aiden stepped into the room, gesture of reverence and and respect. He was their lost king after all. There were four seats for the four men— two at each side of the room, facing the other pair oppositely. Aiden’s large diamond encrusted throne stayed at the central. He sat down on the throne and his two bodyguards stood at either side behind him. “You may sit.” Aiden said to them. It felt so good to say that, to be in control, to speak commands to people and they immediately follow without protests or asking questions. At first it felt strange, but he has gotten used to it. It looks as if he has be

Richard, Gabriel and the other guy— who’s name was Jonah, all shared a confused look. They couldn’t understand General Aiden’s resolve. They understood the first half of it though— which was the part where he said he wouldn’t rest until he found the killers of his parents and took revenge, the part they didn’t understand was the one about finding his savior and rewarding her with money. Richard felt it was unnecessary, and he furrowed his brows in confusion. “But General, I don’t think it’s necessary to look for the lady and moreso, give her so much money. Besides we might never find her.” Richard tried to reason. The idea of the monetary reward didn’t appeal to him— Richard Grahams was keen about the Blue Diamond’s Society’s funds and how they were dispensed, he didn’t what indiscriminate spending just as Aiden’s cousin had done. He found Aiden’s decision unnecessary and tried to talk him out of it, hoping he’d succumb. “No. She is the sole reason why I’m alive today and fit to ta

Gabriel went to the bouncers and whispered into the ears of one of them. “Oh? So this is the billionaire, Mr. Everton?” The bodyguard spoke after Gabriel whispered into his ears. “Very nice to meet you sir.” The bouncer smiled and Aiden nodded. He had learnt that rich men don’t need to speak to much and do very well at communications through eye–contact and gestures. “Alright gentlemen, you can now proceed.” The other bodyguard said and opened the doors. Aiden and his entourage stepped into the hallway. There was a large door at the end of the hallway and another bouncer in a black was standing by the side— he was the valet and he opened the grand doors for Aiden and his men. Immediately they stepped in, they were welcomed with the murkiness from the neon–lights. A large stage was structured at the centre of the room, there were poles on the stage too. Around the stage were tables and chairs that came in fours. At the closest spot to the stage was a segemented area, demarcated wit

Gabriel was confused now, from the surprised and also confused look on the General’s face to the fact that the same look was mirrored on the waitress’s face. He arched his brows, did the General and this girl know each other from before. “Kiera? Is this really you?” Aiden asked, staring her down from head to toe. This was the same girl he had met earlier today, who scolded him for being harsh on Hope and the same girl who had given him twenty dollars when he was in dire need— even though she claims not to remember their first meet or his identity. But with the way she was staring surprisedly at him, it showed that she did recognize him this time. “I should be asking the same. I can’t believe this is you Aiden. You look so…so, different.” She stated matter–of–factly. She must be so shocked because she had seen him earlier today looking ragged and dilapidated and now he was in designers, it must be too much for her to take in. Gabriel wasn’t comfortable with to where the conversati

A knock on his office's door knocked him out of his thoughts and he looked up to see Gabriel entering into his office. He came in and Aiden waited for the girls to follow behind him, or at least, Kierra, but nobody else came in. He arched his brows, "Where are they, Gabriel?" he asked. "Well, they refused to come back with me." Gabriel stated and Aiden's brows furrowed in annoyance, and angered scowl sterning his expression. "What?" He explained, shooting up from his chair and banging his fists on the table. "Why would they do that?' "Well, I don't really understand why. But one was rambling about how she felt all of this was a big old scam, and the other one explicitly explained how she was uninterested in seeing your face. She further said that if she had known it was you behind this all along, she wouldn't have bothered to involve herself." Gabriel narrated and that was enough to sober up Aiden's annoyance. The last one was definitely Kierra, she was still very mad at him. An

The aroma of aged wine lingered in the air as they each held crystal glasses, taking measured sips.Nathan, with a furrowed brow, finally broke the thoughtful silence. "Dad, how did you even find out about the Blue Diamond Society? I mean, it's like this secret society, right?"Mr. Richardson leaned back in his plush chair, a faint smile playing on his lips. "Well, the Blue Diamond Society has been around for a long, long time. It's like a clandestine network, always in the shadows, weaving its influence. After the unfortunate incident with Aiden's family, they went into exile, but now, they're back."Nathan's curiosity heightened. "Back? Why now?"His father took another sip of wine, his gaze distant for a moment. "Well, my son, timing is everything.
