Nathan stepped out of the restaurant with his hands tucked into his pockets, and his gaze straight ahead. Just as he was about to cross the parking lot, Taylor caught up to him, matching his stride.

“Nathan.”

He barely spared her a glance. “What?”

She hesitated, then asked, “Are you okay?”

“Everything is fine.” His voice was flat.

Taylor studied him for a moment, but his detached expression made it difficult to argue. His mask was flawless—no cracks, no tells.

“Alright, then,” she muttered, reluctantly believing him.

They resumed walking toward the Mayor’s convoy when a figure suddenly appeared in their path.

A man dressed in a gaudy, deep-blue suit stood before them, flanked by two towering guards. His slicked-back hair and diamond-studded watch screamed wealth, but his expression wasn’t arrogant—it was admiring. Not toward Nathan, but Taylor.

He was an obstinate fellow who's been pursuing her for a while. He's the son of the Miller family who are more prominent in Spring Hills city.

“Wow. You're a rookie with no strong background in medicine. That’s rich.” He eyed Nathan with amusement. “No medical decree, no good reputation. You just wake up one morning and decide you could perform miracles. That's nice,” he sarcastically said.Just then, Mayor’s wife appeared. “What’s going on?”“We’re discussing my grandmother’s treatment,” Lyon explained. “Father brought this self-claimed doctor who didn't go through any medical school or have a famous teacher to treat her. ”The woman frowned, her gaze skeptical as she took in Nathan’s calm expression. “This young man? You expect us to trust someone with no credibility?”"Exactly, mother,” Lyon groaned. "He looked like he barely finished highschool too but considers himself a great doctor.”"That's ridiculous. He's not fit to even see your mother,” the woman said. “He shouldn't go close to grandmother, father. He might just worsen her illness," Lyon asserted with disdain.Nathan remained composed, unaffected by the skeptici

Nathan tilted his head, his gaze cool and steady. “I’m not sure I can meet your expectations,” he said, his voice calm, almost indifferent. “Perhaps you should ask that famous doctor. Not me.”The Mayor’s shoulders slumped. “No, we were wrong,” he said, his voice cracking. “Please. Show mercy. Come back. You’re our last hope.”Nathan’s expression remained impassive. "So, your family wants me back now?"“Yes,” the Mayor pleaded, desperation thick in his voice. “I don’t care what anyone says anymore. I believe in you. Just… try.”Nathan paused, the silence heavy. Then, with a slight nod, he replied, “Alright.”Back inside, Doctor Orchis’s eyes widened in excitement when seeing Nathan. “So, you’re the one who saved Sir Johnson?”Nathan simply shrugged. “I only did my best.”Doctor Orchis chuckled. “You were incredible. I feel pleased to meet you. If you don’t mind, I’d love to observe your treatment. I’ve never seen such techniques before.”Nathan nodded. “You’re welcome to.”As they ent

Dr. Orchis leaned forward, eyes gleaming with admiration as he regarded Nathan. “You are no ordinary physician,” he said firmly. “Your skills surpass most in this field, and I strongly suggest you participate in the upcoming medical conference . It’s the perfect stage for you. You could compete for the medical association president.”Nathan tilted his head slightly, considering the suggestion. “I was already planning to attend,” he admitted. “But I have no interest in titles. I only seek the rare herbs that may appear there.”Dr. Orchis exhaled heavily, shaking his head. “Then you may be at a disadvantage, my friend. Only the president of the medical association gets first pick of the herbs. If that is truly your goal, you may have no choice but to compete for the title.”Nathan’s expression remained unreadable, but he tapped a finger against the table in thought. He hadn’t considered that factor.“Besides,” Dr. Orchis continued, lowering his voice slightly, “you won’t be the only one

For the next few days, Nathan remained within his villa—not out of fear, but to train. The world outside might have been restless, with Kacper likely planning his next move, but Nathan had no time for distractions. He had acquired new techniques from the ring, and now, he intended to master them completely. The underground training hall beneath his villa rumbled as he struck a reinforced steel pillar. The entire structure trembled, a deep dent forming where his fist had landed. He exhaled slowly, his breath steady despite the sheer force he had just exerted."Not enough," a voice echoed in his mind.Nathan rolled his shoulders before raising his hand. His fingers sparked with energy, arcs of blue lightning crackling along his arm. He had learned to summon storms, to control both wind and lightning. It was no longer just raw power—he could shape it, direct it, command it."More. Again."His body responded instinctively. With a flick of his wrist, a bolt of lightning shot forward, slamm

Inside the opulent hall, chandeliers bathed the room in golden light, reflecting off polished floors and expensive glassware. The air carried the scent of fine wine, aged books, and the faint sterility of antiseptics. The attendees—renowned doctors from Dunhaven, Westvale, Grimshaw, and beyond—moved in circles, discussing medical breakthroughs and their prestigious apprentices. Their voices overlapped, blending into a hum of self-importance.Nathan entered with a casual yet commanding presence. Though his attire was simple, his aura drew attention. Some glanced at him with curiosity, others with subtle disdain.A familiar voice called out.“Nathan! There you are.”Doctor Orchis approached, his face lighting up with genuine delight. Without hesitation, he clapped Nathan on the back and led him further into the hall.“Ladies and gentlemen,” Orchis announced, his voice cutting through the murmurs. The room quieted as heads turned. “Allow me to introduce a man of remarkable talent—Nathan

Kacper, however, had little interest in the admiration because he knew his uncle was commanding. His gaze swept the hall and instantly locked onto Nathan, his expression twisting into a sneer. Without hesitation, he strode forward, scanning Nathan from head to toe with undisguised contempt.“Well, well,” Kacper drawled, his lips curling in amusement. “Look at you, still acting bold despite everything. You think you can just waltz around after what you did?” His voice dripped with malice. “You’ll pay for your past actions today, Nathan.”Nathan remained unmoved, his expression indifferent. He tilted his head slightly, as if Kacper was nothing more than an annoying fly buzzing in his ear."Is that so?" Nathan said calmly, his tone almost bored. "And what exactly do you plan to do? Glare me to death?"Kacper’s smirk faltered for a brief second before he scoffed. “Do you even know who I am?” He stepped closer, his eyes dark with arrogance. “I’m Frank Fields’ nephew.”Nathan raised an eyeb

Frank stood tall, surveying the room with a smirk. Seeing no one move, he gave a slow, satisfied nod.“No objections, right?” His voice echoed, dripping with arrogance. “I expected as much.”The crowd remained silent, some lowering their gazes in hesitation. Fear had wrapped itself around the room like an unshakable curse. But then, a scoff cut through the tension.Nathan, arms crossed, let out a short laugh. “Dominance through fear? How original.” His voice was laced with sarcasm, his expression unreadable.Heads turned toward him in shock. The doctors who had been paralyzed by Frank’s influence now stared at Nathan as if he had just signed his death sentence.Frank’s eyes snapped to him, narrowing slightly. For a moment, silence stretched between them. Then, with a quiet crack of his nose, Frank simply smiled.“And who might you be?” he asked, though his tone carried no real interest. He then waved a dismissive hand. “Never mind. A nobody doesn’t deserve my attention.”Nathan raised

The hall buzzed with tension as the next challenger stepped forward. The scent of rare herbs and burning incense filled the air, mixing with the nervous energy crackling between the gathered doctors and spectators.A man dressed in deep blue robes adorned with silver embroidery raised his chin, his voice steady and commanding.“I am from Ravenmere City—Doctor Balor,” he announced. His chest puffed with pride, his posture exuding confidence. “I believe in my abilities.”The murmurs of the crowd rippled in response.“Doctor Balor… isn’t he the one who cured the Frostbite Plague in the North?”“I’ve heard of him. He can summon medicine spirits—manifestations of nature’s healing force!”“He’s not just a doctor. He’s a warrior in his own right.”Frank tilted his head, a slow, mocking smile curling his lips. His dark eyes glinted with amusement as he gave a lazy clap.“Oh? Another brave soul. How thrilling,” he drawled. “And what makes you think you’ll fare any better than the last one?”Ba

The atmosphere in the grand hall had shifted completely. A moment ago, the crowd was filled with skepticism and ridicule towards Nathan. Now, it was filled with awe and admiration.“Who would have thought… Nathan’s pill would surpass even Braxton’s?” whispered one of the guests, his voice tinged with disbelief.Another man who had sneered earlier stepped forward and nodded vigorously. “I’ll be honest—I mocked him earlier. I thought he was bluffing. But this... this man is unremarkable.”“I take back every word I said,” a woman added quickly. “Nathan… I underestimated you. That was a mistake.”“He’s no ordinary man. We were blind,” muttered another voice. The hall buzzed with renewed reverence. Compliments and astonished praises flew freely. Nathan remained still, calm, though a soft, almost imperceptible smile tugged at the corner of his lips.Braxton, however, sat rigidly, his smile frozen. He clenched his jaw behind tight lips, his eyes narrowing as he scanned the room. “Are they r

The hall fell silent as Keane Waters stood poised with the wooden box in his hands. Everyone’s eyes trailed him, puzzled. Why would a man of his caliber waste his time on a pill from someone like Nathan?Even Nathan raised a brow, curious about Keane’s sudden interest. He hadn’t expected someone to vouch for him—especially not him. Then came Braxton’s scoff, breaking the silence with his smug voice. “This is a waste of time, Master Keane. I respect your knowledge, but surely you know better than to dignify this nonsense.” He waved a hand dismissively in Nathan’s direction. “That man can’t possibly make a real pill. He’s not an alchemist. He’s just… a lucky nobody.”There were murmurs of agreement.“He’s only trying to save face.”“Why would a man dressed like that have something worth looking at?”“Even if it looks like a pill, it’s probably filled with cheap herbs and colored powder.”“Sir Keane shouldn’t even waste his breath.”But Keane’s eyes didn’t waver. Nathan’s gaze barely lingered on the golden pill Braxton presented. While others stared in awe, their gasps echoing through the hall, Nathan’s eyes swept across the so-called life-prolonging pill with silent calculation. A rushed process,” he thought. “Not useless, but certainly not worth the hype.”He didn't clap. He didn’t even blink. He merely stood still, unimpressed.Braxton caught the lack of reaction and sneered. “What’s the matter, Mr. Nobody?” he said, loud enough to draw attention. “Didn’t bring any gift? As Nathan turned slightly, a stir broke out among a group of men seated close to the center—faces he recognized from the last medical conference. Welcome, President.”Their expressions were respectful—some even reverent. The air around them had shifted. That one incident—where Nathan had defeated Frank Fields with skill, both medical and supernatural—had left a deep impression. And he had become the President of the National Medical Association, their awe only grew.“We just wanted to salute—” Robert began, lowering his head slightly. But Nathan’s eyes lifted and locked onto them. After returning home, Nathan wasted no time. He stepped out of his shoes, rolled up his sleeves, and headed straight to the secluded garden behind the villa—the quiet, concealed area surrounded by ancient trees and blessed with an unusual stillness. To others, it might look like a patch of overgrown greenery, but to Nathan, it was sacred ground. The soil brimmed with life. The air carried a strange charge. This was where he could work in peace—where power could be drawn from nature’s core itself. He stood at the center of a smooth stone platform that had created over the years. At its heart lay a refined brazier, encrusted with aged runes. Nathan closed his eyes and inhaled deeply, drawing in the energy of the space around him. The soft hum of the Crystal —a rare, glowing gemstone known for amplifying elemental flow—rested in his palm.“It’s now or never,” he muttered, placing the Crystal in the middle of the brazier as a catalyst. He arranged the things herbs he had gotten over the

Meanwhile, in one of the most luxurious suites of a private inn tucked deep into the hills of the city, a glass bottle of brandy soared through the air and shattered against the wall. Cushions lay scattered, the coffee table was overturned, and bits of broken glass glittered like fallen stars across the rug.Braxton Miller stood in the center, chest heaving with fury, his clenched fists trembling at his sides.“Damn it!” he shouted, voice thunderous and echoing through the walls. The door creaked open as one of his men rushed in, face drawn with worry. “Sir? Are you alright?”Braxton didn’t respond immediately. Instead, he spun around and delivered a sharp backhand slap to the man’s face. The impact echoed louder than the brandy bottle’s crash.“How the hell would I be alright when the entire plan failed!” he bellowed. The man staggered but didn’t retaliate, merely

After leaving the store, Nathan and Taylor had settled into the back seat of one of the waiting cars. She had seemed fine moments ago, talking and glowing with her usual confidence. But just as the car pulled away, her little smile trailed off. She shifted uncomfortably in her seat and clutched her stomach."Nathan…" she murmured, voice shaky. "I feel… strange… hot."Nathan turned swiftly to look at her. Her face was flushed. Her pupils dilated. Her chest rose and fell in uneven breaths as she panted and tugged at her neckline like it was choking her.“What’s wrong?” he asked, leaning closer. Her skin was warm—too warm. He gently took her wrist, checking her pulse. It was rapid.“Damn it,” he muttered. “She’s been drugged…”He recognized the symptoms immediately. Aphrodisiac. A strong one. But who would dare slip something like that into her drink or food? His jaw clenched. This wasn’t the time to speculate.Taylor suddenly leaned back against the seat, her body losing control. “Natha
