CHAPTER 08 CORPORATE RETRIBUTION

Ellen walked out of the office, and outside he already saw his coworkers gathered around looking at him.

One of them suddenly mocked with his arms crossed over his chest.

"People may think you're a hero today, but who knows if you're one of those gangsters."

Ellen frowned as his coworkers continued to make fun of him.

"Tell me, you deliberately brought in those gangsters to impress everyone including the president."

The accusation was even baseless and only made Ellen chuckle in amusement.

"I don't like to behave deceitfully just to impress someone."

"No one here will be flattered by your behavior. So get out of this company, loser!"

Ellen's coworkers continued to insult and mock him, but this time no one responded. Because everyone had seen how Ellen faced the gangsters with a brave attitude.

" Why don't you all speak up? Say something!

Ellen's coworkers were frustrated when the others remained silent. Then one of them stepped forward, Ellen's coworker thought he would take part in insulting Ellen, but he was wrong.

He shook Ellen's hand with a friendly smile.

"I apologize for all my annoying behavior over the years, buddy."

And the others also stepped forward to shake Ellen's hand.

"I also want to apologize. We think we've gone too far."

"Yes, that's right. After seeing what you did, you look cool."

"No one dared to fight those gangsters except you."

"I'm also very thankful that you saved me from those gangsters."

Hellen's voice sounded so low, and shy as she shook Ellen's hand.

Ellen did not expect his actions to change his coworkers' thoughts about him, except for one coworker who still hates him. It was obvious that the look on his face was getting annoyed when he saw the others starting to apologize to him.

"It doesn't matter. I just did what I needed to do."

Ellen replied with a friendly smile. Although their previous attitude was annoying, he appreciated the attitude of his coworkers who wanted to apologize.

"Hey, are you guys out of your minds? It's just his trick. You guys shouldn't be fooled!"

"Never mind. Don't sow oil on a fire that's about to die down. Ellen is a good person."

"Yes, it's evident from how he fought the gangsters with no regard for his safety!"

But Ellen's coworkers kept trying to corner him into looking wrong in the eyes of his other coworkers.

"You guys have been deceived by him, do you realize that?!"

"You're the one with the problem. What did you do when the gangsters came?"

"Of course, hiding!"

Everyone laughed at the joke from one of Ellen's coworkers.

"It would be nice if you apologized to me too, because the way I see it, you're the one who did the most harm to me."

Ellen demanded an apology from the coworker who kept cornering her, but he refused firmly.

"I don't want to! I don't think I've done anything wrong!"

"Even though I'm your president? Are you sure you still refuse and won't apologize to me?"

As Ellen admitted his status as the new CEO, everyone there was both shocked and incredulous at what they heard.

"Haha! And now you're making up stuff about you being the CEO of our company? Wake up from your dreams, loser!"

Ellen's coworkers made fun of him even more, but Sophie showed up at the right time. She began to tell, explaining what was going on to her employees.

"Ellen isn't lying. What he said is the truth."

Ellen noticed the panicked looks of his coworkers as Sophie stood beside him. Letting everyone know about the chronology.

"As of today, Ellen is the president of this company. More precisely, since he provided $8 million to save the company."

Everyone's mouths dropped open at the amount Sophie mentioned. No one could imagine how Ellen could have so much money, especially Marlene.

With a frown on her forehead, her hands covered in cold sweat, Marlene could only watch at the very back as Sophie boasted about what Ellen had done for the company.

'How could Ellen have that much money? $8 million. That money wouldn't have accumulated even if Ellen spent the rest of her life washing dishes and working her part-time job.'

Marlene's mind was in turmoil. She began to doubt her heart about what Emilia had said if she was telling the truth.

And Sam began to blame Marlene in his mind. Her careless attitude made Sam look stupid in front of Ellen.

"I apologize."

Ellen's co-worker finally apologized so as not to lose his job.

"Never mind, but don't ever repeat it. Including other coworkers."

When Sam suddenly came forward to apologize, Ellen responded with a flat look.

"I would also like to apologize to you."

Who would have thought, Sam's arrogant and haughty tone that just a while ago sounded annoying? Now it was replaced with a low and embarrassed voice.

"No problem. All the problems are solved, so let's turn over a new leaf."

Ellen immediately looked at Sophie to give her a signal. Then he gave an order in a firm tone.

"There's one more thing we need to resolve regarding the company. Sam and the others are coming with me to check Zane Catt's office."

Sam panicked and started to speak up.

"What did you come to my father's office for?"

"To look for evidence. This is an order and don't argue."

Ellen knew Sam was panicking. He didn't want to waste time. The sooner the better to search Sam's father's office and find evidence related to his betrayal.

At this time Zane Catt had not yet arrived at the office. Sam, who left first, immediately hid the evidence he found in his father's room. But Ellen who entered the room realized what Sam was hiding under his shirt.

"Search this room and make sure no information is left behind."

Sam's father arrived as Ellen searched his room. He panicked, fear engulfing him.

"What are you doing in my office?!"

Ellen explained about Zane Catt's betrayal, but he made a sad face. Pretending to be a victim.

"I've made great contributions to the company, and now I'm being mistreated like this by someone like you?"

"Contributions? Is uniting with the enemy to frame the president of his company a great contribution?

Ellen laughed mockingly at how cunning Sam's father was. His tears that came out seemed to be a trick.

"On what basis are you accusing me of that!"

Zane Catt, who was initially panicked, began to calm down when he saw the gesture Sam gave. And knew that Ellen didn't have strong evidence to blame him. He then challenged Ellen.

"Give me proof if I did it!"

"Proof? Okay. I'll give you the proof!"

Ellen saw Sam about to run away and immediately caught him. He knew he was hiding evidence of his father's collaboration with the enemy. Making sure the enemy could trap Sophie and Zane Catt to take over the company.

Sophie felt betrayed.

"Starting today, I'm firing both of you! Don't ever set foot in this company!"

Zane Catt felt humiliated. Feeling like his pride had been trampled on, he cursed Sophie.

"If it weren't for the connections I have, your company wouldn't have been able to grow until now. Watch and cry when your company goes bankrupt and you'll end up kneeling crying blood in front of me!"

PLAAAK

Ellen slapped Zane Catt hard across the face for his harsh words to Sophie.

"Watch your language and leave the company immediately! And don't ever appear in front of us again!"

Ellen also fired one of his coworkers for making fun of and humiliating him. Making sure he got his karma for what he had done.

Zane Catt stomped out of the company in an explosive rage.

"You'll see, I'll get back at you worse than this."

He pulled out his cell phone, contacting the gangsters who had ganged up on Sophie's company building.

"Let's work together to get revenge on Sophie and that bastard named Ellen. Destroy him for interfering and ruining our plans."

Benazir

"Be happy not because everything is good, but because you can see the good side of everything."
