Michael’s face widened in shock when he saw Jonah. “What the hell is this Jonah? What do you think you’re doing?” He snapped irritably.

“I’ll attend to you shortly,” Jonah said and stretched out his hand dismissively. Michael stopped, his eyes widening in disbelief, “You little bastard! How dare you speak to me that way. I sh-“ A gun clicked and Michael immediately froze.

“I said, I’ll attend to you shortly,” Jonah said, his voice stern and threatening, holding a gun to Michael’s face. Immediately the atmosphere of the room shifted. The air became thick with tension as Jonah’s men raised their weapons. Michael froze in place, his words stuck in his throat. He could not believe it, Jonah had gone completely mad.

“You shouldn’t have come here, Michael. Now you’ve seen too much.” Jonah said.

Michael stepped forward, his eyes still wide with disbelief. “Jonah… What is this? You’ve been running an illegal operation this whole time?”

Jonah shrugged, and then said, “You were never meant to f

After barely escaping the fiasco at the farm, Liam was still in a frenzy. Jack’s sacrifice was heavy on his mind. ‘Why did he do that? What happened to him?’ He tried his best to understand why Liam took the fall, but could not see it, that was not the plan. They’d gotten what they wanted, so why did he stay back?Michael was equally in shock. As soon as he left the car, he brought out a tiny flask from his coat pocket and took a large swig, “I can’t believe Jonah would do this.” He said then took another swig, “The farm, the flowers… how could I not know about it? He’s been running a drug operation and using our family’s name for this nightmare.”Liam turned toward him, holding the flower, his eyes burning in rage, “Better believe it. Your cousin has crossed the line and if anything happens to Jack, I’m going to make sure he pays for it.” Michael did not argue, he did not try to convince Liam otherwise anymore, not after Jonah had held a gun to his face. Still, he couldn’t help but f

As the council convened, Liam and Michael took their seats, poise and ready. They scanned their eyes around the crowd but Jonah was nowhere to be found. However, just then, the entrance door swung open. The entire room stilled, and shifted their attention to the door, watching curiously as Jonah walked in. Liam had picked up the analysis gotten from Dr Carter earlier that morning, and with the results, he was confident that there was no way, Jonah would be let to go free. Although there was still no word from Jack, Liam was a little relieved that the only source of Chrysanthemum left was the storage building and with the court’s ruling, Jonah would be forced to destroy it.Everyone had gathered to witness the last showdown. The council leader, Chairman Reynolds stood up after everyone was settled, and then began, “We have gathered today to address serious allegations about your involvement in Mr Nelson’s schemes.” He paused and turned to Liam, “Mr. Moran, you have evidence?”Liam shi

As soon as Peter hung up, Jonah hurriedly pushed through the entrance doors of the council chambers, barely aware or concerned about the reporters calling his name. The cold air hit his face, but it did. Toning to clear his spinning thoughts or the reality of his position now. Peter had cut him off, and not only did that mean that his safety net was gone, but judging by his tone, he knew that sooner or later, Peter would be coming for him.He had to make a move and resolve this situation quickly, because if Peter truly turned against him, he wouldn’t just stop at taking away his resources, and protection, he’d take his life too. This thought overwhelmed him so much, he couldn’t even hear his phone vibrating at first. However, just then a group of reporters surrounded him, flashing their cameras and asking questions. Jonah pushed through and made his way to his car. His phone rang again, and this time, he quickly answered it. “Sir?” Collins’ voice came through, wary. Collins, his righ

A few hours later, Liam’s phone finally rang. When he pulled it out, he quickly answered, seeing it was Dr Carter, “What have you found?”Carter hesitated for a moment. “Dr Carter?” Liam repeated.“He’s taking it back to his base,” Evelyn’s words returned, filled with dread. “Liam, if Peter truly intends to use this flower to create a bioweapon, he needs to be stopped. From my research, he has altered these flowers to wield more power. But there’s something strange about the results I got from one of his sites.”Liam’s brows furrowed in suspicion, “What do you mean?” He asked. “I mean, Peter’s not just trying to create a bioweapon. He’s creating something else, something strong and he’s altering its genetics with this plant.”Liam paused for a deep moment, his mind drifting to the many possibilities. Then suddenly his eyes widened in shock. Something clicked, and his memories reeled back. This had just gotten more serious. The secret books he found in his grandfather’s archive had ta

And Jack’s next.”The voice had been distorted, but Liam didn’t need confirmation. He knew exactly who it was — Peter. The realization hit him like a crashing wave. Peter had Jack.Liam paced around, his hands running through his hair as his mind spun in every direction. What would he do? He had been expecting this, but not so soon. He thought he would have more time to prepare, to strategize before rescuing Jack, but Peter had given him none. After a while of pacing around, he finally realized what he needed to do. Right now, the Zuri blade is more important. He needed to safely secure it first, before trying to rescue Jack. Liam pulled into the dimly lit alley behind Evelyn’s research lab, shutting off the engine. His heart pounded as he stepped out of the car, the night air thick with tension. Every second counted. The moment he stepped inside the lab, the faint hum of the lab machinery and instruments filled the air. Behind a row of glass vials and metal instruments gleaming under the fluorescent lights stood Evelyn hunched over a microscope, her dark hair pulled into a loose ponytail, her fingers delicately adjusting a slide. As Liam approached her, she didn’t look up. She could tell it was him and without turning, she said, “You’re early.”Liam exhaled sharply, coming around her. “There’s no time to waste.”Evelyn finally met his gaze, her sharp brown eyes searching his face. “I haven’t seen you like this before.”Liam didn’t respond. I want to find her as well, but at least slow down. If you rush in, we all die.”

  • A Glimpse of the Abyss

The night was cold, and quiet, but sweat still dripped from Liam’s brow as he crouched behind a crumbled wall near the edge of the city. Jack stood a few steps away, holding a scanning device that pulsed with a faint blue light.“That’s the third spike in under an hour,” Jack said, eyes narrowing. “The Ogini left a trail when it surged through Darius. If we’re right, he’s hiding underground—beneath the old industrial district.”Mara tightened the straps of her vest. “Underground bunkers. Just our luck. Creepy, dark, and likely filled with God-knows-what.”Liam didn’t smile. His mind was filled with everything but amusement. “We check each one until we find her.” He said with conviction.Without any arguments, they moved quickly, silently, weaving through the shadows. The deeper they went into the ruins, the more the air changed—heavier, colder. Like the place itself had been touched by something unholy. The first bunker was empty, only filled with rusted tools and broken lights. Nothi

Darius paced slowly in front of her, his face calm, and eyes fixed heavily on her. That eerie glow from the Ogini still lived inside him, and it was getting stronger.“You look tired,” he said with a soft smile, crouching in front of her. “This place drains you, doesn’t it?”She didn’t answer. Her eyes locked on him, full of fear but also something else, confusion and anger.Darius tilted his head, amused. “I don’t blame you for not trusting me. I wouldn’t trust me either. But I’m not your enemy, Mia. I’m just the one finally telling you the truth.”“Liam will come for me,” she said quietly, but her eyes carried the fire of a strong resolve.“I know,” Darius said with a grin. “That’s the plan.”He stood up and waved his hand. • Echoes in the Silence

Liam sat on the edge of the cot, staring at the cracked floor of the safe house. The silence felt heavy, like a warning. Deep in his gut, he felt it twisting like a knife.Evelyn paced nearby, her phone clutched tightly in her hand. “Still no answer,” she said, her voice laced with worry. “I’ve called her three times. Her phone rings but then stops.”Jack stood by the door, arms crossed. He looked from Evelyn to Liam, frowning. “Let me go check her place. Maybe she just needed space.”Liam didn’t look up. He barely moved, his head was already filled with anxious thoughts. What if it was already too late? What if Darius had turned her into one of the Ogini’s puppets? How would he explain any of this to Lord Steven? Jack waited for his response, and when he didn’t get it, he grabbed his coat and left without another word.Minutes p

  • Snatched in the Dark

After Mia left the safe house, she wandered along the edge of the city, her steps slow and heavy with emotion. The night was quiet, but her mind was loud—full of questions, hurt, and the echo of Liam’s cold words. She pulled her coat tighter as the breeze swept through the empty streets. She glanced at her watch and it was just a few minutes past ten. The streetlights flickered above her, casting long shadows on the cracked sidewalks. She didn’t know where she was going. She just needed to be anywhere but the safe house. Anywhere away from Liam’s distant stare and the feeling that she no longer belonged. She eventually came to a stop near an abandoned train station and with a slow soft exhale, she sat on a bench, the wood damp beneath her, and exhaled.“You don’t look like you belong here,” a voice said.Mia flinched, frightened and turned. A man had taken the seat beside her. He was dressed in dark clothes, hood half pulled over his head. His face was calm, his smile polite, but some

  • The Ashes of Victory

The van rumbled through the wrecked outskirts of the city, but no one spoke. Liam sat in the back, slouched against the wall, his body aching with every bump in the road. His shoulder was torn open, blood soaked into the gauze Evelyn had hastily wrapped around him. Across from him, Jack stared at the floor, jaw tight. Mara’s eyes were still glowing faintly from the battle, but her expression was blank. There was no celebration. No sense of victory. Only silence.Peter was gone. But the Ogini… the Ogini had found someone worse — Darius. When they finally pulled up to the safe house, it was still dark. The building stood quietly, unchanged since the morning they left—but everything felt different now. The team moved slowly, exhausted in body and spirit. Inside, the lights flickered on. The place was eerily quiet. Liam collapsed onto the worn-out couch, wincing as the pain in his ribs flared. Evelyn knelt beside him with a first-aid kit, gently peeling back the soaked bandage.“You shoul

  • The Rise of a New Villain

The air was thick with smoke and dust, filled with the remains of Peter’s fortress. The battle was over, or at least that’s what Liam thought. He leaned against a crumbled wall, blood streaked across his face, his body aching from the fight. Around him, the enhanced soldiers stood quiet, still catching their breath. For a brief moment, there was silence, peace. Or something like it. Then Darius stepped forward.Liam looked up and immediately felt something was wrong. Darius didn’t look like himself anymore. His eyes glowed with a strange, dark light. His skin was pale, almost gray, and thin black veins crawled across his arms like vines. Liam could see it clearly now, the power of the Ogini rippled off him in waves, thick and heavy. It had fully taken control of Darius. But Darius wasn’t acting possessed. He didn’t move like someone under control. He moved like a man who had finally found his purpose.“You feel it, don’t you?” Darius asked, voice deeper than before. “The power. It’s r

But then it all rushed back—Peter. The fight, the capture, the darkness. He tried to sit up, pushing through the dizziness. The air around him was heavy, like the weight of everything that had led to this moment had settled into the room. He looked around and realized he was deep inside Peter’s base. Cold walls, dim lights. The heart of the enemy’s lair. Then he heard a slow clap. Peter stood in front of him, arms folded, with a smirk stretched across his face.“Well, well,” Peter said, his voice calm but mocking. “Look who finally woke up.”Liam got to his feet, legs shaking but steady enough. He didn’t respond right away. He just stared at Peter, taking him in. This was it. The man who had caused so much pain. The man who chose power over everything else.Peter stepped closer, his eyes gleaming. “Still think you can win, L

The atmosphere in the corridors of the base had changed. Evelyn’s words still pressed on him, but so was the weight of what he had to do.Darius had done the procedure on a few more volunteers from the Tribunal, and as Liam passed them, their faces were blank. Their eyes filled with chemical fire, but they also blank. One woman flinched as he passed, her arm twitching involuntarily like her muscles were trying to remember something human.Liam stopped right in front of her. Before now, she was a medic with warm eyes and a shy smile. Now her eyes were empty and dull. He didn’t even remember her name.He turned away, his heart sinking deeper than he’d admit to anyone.
