Peter shook his head and sighed, “I must say I’m a little disappointed by your answer Liam. I was really looking forward to working with you. It would have made everything much easier. We could have had the world, but I can’t force you to join me,” he paused, and his expression suddenly darkened as he stared at Liam with bottled rage, “You do understand that from now on, if you get in my way, I am going to fight you with everything I have, don’t you?”

Liam ignored his threat, creasing his face in annoyance, “Do not make me ask again. Leave the Stevens alone.”

Peter could no longer contain Liam’s arrogance. Now that Liam had rejected his offer, there was no need to play pretend anymore.

“I’ll suggest you look around and remember where you are Mr. Moran,” Peter slammed his hands on the table and stood up, his eyes sharp and intimidating,

“You are in no place to make demands. In case you have forgotten, this is my company!” He snarled.

“I can have my men in here before you can leave thi

“I’m excited for it. Whether you partner with me or not, there is a darkness in you and soon you won’t be able to keep hiding behind that mask.”Liam suddenly stopped at the door and slowly turned towards Peter with a startled look, “What makes you think that I’m anything like you or will ever be.” However, before Peter could say anything, Liam continued, “You’re not far off Peter. I have been you. I have been so misguided by my ego and drive that I failed to realize one thing, and it almost ruined me. But you might not be so lucky, so consider my warning. Stop before all these become even too much for you.”Peter scoffed and gestured to the door, “Goodbye Mr. Moran. We’ll meet again soon. I must warn you before you leave, our next conversation might not be so civil.” He said with a veiled threat. Liam remained frozen for a few minutes. He’d hoped that his words would at least give Peter something to think about, but now he could see it more clearly, Peter was already a lost cause an

Following Lord David’s announcement, Liam arrived at The Stevens family once again. He was the only one who knew that this was far from over. Peter might not have been a threat to them anymore, but there was still a danger that lay deep within the Steven family, and until this was contained, Mia was never going to be safe.He parked his car that afternoon outside the Steven mansion and stepped out. Standing around the entrance of the building were Carl and some of his friends. Immediately they saw Liam, and one of them stepped forward. It was Duncan Roger. For years, Duncan had had a silent crush on Mia but did not make any move out of fear of rejection and Victor Carpi. When he learned that Victor was no longer a problem, the only thing standing in his way was now Liam. Cracking a sinister smile, he walked towards Liam, stopping in front of him with his eyes glued to him with a dark gaze.Confused, Liam tried to brush it off, not interested in whatever this was, “You’re in my way.” H

Although he’d wanted a bit of a challenge, Duncan did not argue. Liam was just going to make winning this race even much easier. He walked towards his car, entered, and drove towards Liam, stopping just beside him,“We’ll race the Strickers track. You know it right?” Liam nodded.“Meet us there,” Duncan said and sped off. They arrived at Stricker's track shortly after and to his surprise, the track was already filled with a crowd. Liam pulled over to the starting line, and in moments, Carl stepped forward.“Okay, the rules are simple. The first person to the end of the track and back wins the race and has to honor their bet.”Liam revved his car, staring directly across Duncan. The crowd erupted in a loud cheer, and then Carl fired the race gun into the air and the two men launched off.Duncan’s car quickly sped off, leaving a large gap between him and Liam. Before Liam’s car had already gotten to the middle of the track, he was almost at the other end of the track. Although he was

“You see before this race, Duncan and I had a little bet,” Liam started, addressing the crowd, “We agreed that if he won, then I would walk away from my beautiful wife and her family, but if I won, then Duncan would have to destroy his car with a crowbar.” The crowd was stunned in shock by the awkward bet, slowly shifting their gaze to Duncan who at this time was standing next to his car.“I’d originally told Duncan to surrender his car to me if I won, but he vowed that he’d rather destroy it than let me have it if by some miracle I won the race.”At this time, Duncan was sweating anxiously. He knew there was no way out of this situation. In a matter of moments, he’d have to destroy his car. “I’m glad you’re all here. Duncan promised you a race but I’m sure he didn’t mention it was going to be wrecking.” Liam said and smirked at Duncan.Taking a deep breath, Duncan grabbed the crowbar firmly. The crowd started cheering watching eagerly as he took the first swing and clawed off his si

“What on earth are you blabbing about?” Carl asked in annoyance.“Did you think that no one was going to find out?” Liam sneered. “Find out what?” Carl retorted, but this time Liam did not say anything, “We’re going to be late for the party Carl.” Liam said, entered his car and drove off. He arrived about twenty minutes late at the Stevens party. Immediately he arrived, Lord David called for him immediately. The butler directed Liam to his office and as soon as Liam entered, Lord David ushered him to the seat in front of him,“I should have known you were not just inviting me for a party,” Liam said with a smirk as he took the seat, “What’s this about Lord Steven?”“I just want to know my son-in-law a little better.”Liam chuckled, “I think this is just more than a casual conversation.” Following his words, Lord David leaned forward with a more serious look, “You’re right Liam. This is more than a casual conversation. You see I’ve had the time to think deeply about a lot of things,

She had not expected that Liam would choose to reveal some of his secrets and now did not know how to react.Seeing her hesitation, Liam said, “It’s your call, Mia.If you want to know the power dynamics going on in your family, you’ll need to be ready for what you’ll find.”Mia remained quiet for a while and then lifted her gaze, staring directly at Liam, “I want to know everything.”Liam heaved a deep breath and said, “Your mother was not the informant for Peter Nelson.”Mia’s eyes widened as soon as she heard this. That would mean this was not yet over.Clenching her fists, she asked, “Who is it?”“It’s Carl,” Liam answered and immediately she could see Mia boil in anger. She remained frozen in place and then turned around angrily, “Do not do anything, Mia. We need to take things slow and according to plan.”“Slow?” Mia retorted, “That douche has been messing with this family for years, blaming you and playing the victim. H

  • THE VENGEFUL HEIR   Choices To Make

Later that night, Mia became increasingly disturbed by the thought of what she was about to do. Although she wanted nothing but to put Carl and Yona in place, she did not think it was worth it to risk her life for this. If things went wrong tonight, she could die if Carl was working with Peter, he would find this as an easy way of getting rid of her.The thought gnawed at her chest heavily and she picked up her phone to call Chloe. As soon as the call went through, Chloe immediately answered. Without giving Mia a chance to talk, she started frantically, “Mia, I found something.” Thinking it was about Liam, Mia sprang up curiously, “What’s it? What did you find about Liam?”“No, this isn’t about Liam, but I think you’ll find this just as interesting.”For a moment, Mia’s face sank in disappointment, but she soon became interested in what Chloe had to say, “So if it isn’t Liam, who is it about then?”Chloe remained quiet for a moment and then took a deep breath, “It’s about your sister

Thank you, Chloe.” Mia said and ended the call. As soon as she hung up, she felt a sudden dread surge up her body. Chloe was right, things were getting out of hand fast, but there was no backing out now. Just then, her phone chimed again. This time it was from Liam.Mia glanced at the screen and saw his text that he was waiting outside in the car. The rain had stopped, but the clouds still hung low, heavy and quiet. Liam sat on the edge of the rooftop, watching the city lights flicker through the mist. Behind him, the door creaked open and soft footsteps followed. Mia sat beside him, pulling her coat tighter around her, her face filled with unsaid questions, and for a moment, neither of them said anything. Then she whispered, “Can I ask you something?”Liam didn’t look at her. He only smiled coyly and said. “You already did.”Mia smiled faintly and shifted towards him. “I mean something real.”Sensing the depth in her tone, Liam nodded slowly. “Go ahead.”Mia shifted, resting her hands in her lap. “Why do you always hold back?”He turned to her, finally meeting her eyes, but confused about the question.“I’m not talking about the war, or the missions,” she added quickly. “Not the Tribunal, not Peter, not Darius. I mean… you. The person behind all of it. I know you’ve been trying. You’ve let me in more these past few weeks than

As he arrived at Taeger, the room was quiet, too quiet for something that carried so much weight. Liam sat alone at the long glass table, his back straight, expression unreadable. The walls were white, clinical, but the air was thick with tension. Around him, the Tribunal members took their seats—six in total. At the head of the room stood Senator Vaughn, hands behind his back, wearing that usual smug look like he already knew the outcome.“Since Mr Moran has decided to join us today, the meeting will now begin,” one of the older members announced. “We are here to review the ownership and handling of Peter Harrow’s estate, specifically research rights,

Then again, when Lord Steven called, it wasn’t something you ignored. He was waiting for her in his private study, the one with the heavy oak door and the old books stacked like bricks of history.“Mia,” he said warmly, standing as she entered. “I appreciate you coming.”She gave a polite nod and took the seat across from him. There was a long pause before he spoke again. “You’ve made hard choices lately. And while I don’t say it often enough… I see your loyalty. And I admire it.”Mia didn’t answer right away. He stood up and walked down to the meeting room and everyone was there. You look disturbed.” Liam darted his eyes across the room and then heaved reluctantly, “I’ve been summoned by The city and the Tribunal. • The Final Flame

Liam stood, bloodied and broken, panting heavily after the fight. It seemed Mia had saved him. Her words were just the echo he needed to pull out of the Ogini’s hold. Darius was dead and the Ogini was slowly fading away. Finally everything was over, or at least so he thought. Around them, the walls of the chamber cracked and groaned. The ground trembled beneath their feet as the Ogini’s energy flared out of control.Liam’s eyes widened in shock as he watched Darius rise to his feet across the room. “Impossible!” He muttered to himself.Darius’ body twisted, reshaped by the Ogini into something unrecognizable. A fusion of beast and nightmare. His skin burned like molten stone, his eyes pitch-black voids that leaked dark light. One thing was clear to Liam at this point, whatever that was, it was far from human and had no consciousness of its own. He roared, the sound shaking the very air.“You think love makes you strong?” he bellowed. “It makes you weak!He raised his hands, tearing op

As the light continued increasing, it became almost blinding till everything turned white and Liam blacked out. He woke up a while later, pressing his hand against the floor to look around. The air was thick and alive, filled with energy that crackled and pulsed through the walls like lightning. He was lying on stone, but it felt like it was breathing. The chamber around him glowed with deep red and black light, dark veins of Ogini energy running across the floor and ceiling. And in the center of it all stood Darius. No longer the man Liam once knew. His form had changed completely, part man, part monster. His skin shimmered like black stone cracked with fire underneath. His eyes burned bright with the mark of the Ogini, and long tendrils of energy moved behind him like shadows with a mind of their own.“Mia…” Liam whispered as he looked past Darius. Suspended in a large, floating crystal of pure black, Mia hung unconscious. Her face was peaceful, but her body was limp, trapped in the

The deeper Liam and his team went, the more the place felt like a trap. It was as if the walls themselves were pulsing with a heartbeat not their own and every turn they were taking was edged with danger.“Stay sharp,” Jack whispered, his steps light. He drew his gun and cocked it.Liam nodded, but his focus was elsewhere. There was that feeling again—deep in his chest, clawing at his senses. It wasn’t pain, and it wasn’t fear. It was the Ogini. He could feel its presence crawling closer like smoke through cracks, beckoning on him the closer he got.“Do you feel that?” Liam asked Mara, who walked just behind him.She glanced around, her grip on her weapon tightening. “Like something’s breathing down our necks.”“I think it’s welcoming us.” She added. They moved silently, despite the warnings of the Ogini, deeper through the corridor until the tunnels opened into a twisted hall of horrors. Then suddenly, the walls changed.Gone were the smooth stone and steel. Now, they were lined with
