CHAPTER 4

"With the club's help, they infiltrated The Price Industry. Word got out that it was going up for sale, but there was no way Harvey was gonna let the Darby's sell off his father's legacy.

He reached out to every potential buyer, coming up with plans to keep the business in the family. But there was one buyer who proved to be a real pain, Patrick Mann. He was an old friend of Anthony Price. At first, Harvey thought it might be a good thing if Patrick bought the company, considering his dad's high opinion of him. But something felt off, like Patrick had his own hidden agenda.

Harvey had no choice but to hire a private investigator to uncover Patrick's reasons for wanting the company.

Serena played the grieving wife, just like her mom told her to. It was time for everyone to think he was dead, just like they made sure Monica bit the dust.

When Halle frantically busted into the room, tears streaming down her face. "Margaret, Serena, what the hell did you do to Harvey? I know he isn’t  dead! You always send people packing when they cross you!"

"Shut your trap!" Margaret snapped. "You're just a worthless brat. My patience with you is running thin. Start acting like your damn sister here."

"I'd rather take my life  than sell my damn soul," Halle spat back, full of defiance.

Serena's laughter echoed through the room, her eyes glinting with a mix of amusement and malice. "You really think you're better than me, huh? But deep down, you're just a hypocrite. You let us do the dirty work, yet you have no problem splurging on luxuries funded by the very things you claim to stand against."

Her voice dripped with venom as she continued, "Oh, and let's not forget, you had the chance to save Harvey. But you chose your inheritance over him. just like the rest of us, You knew what we had planned for him, yet you did nothing. You  hypocritical, selfish, two-faced tramp."

Serena's expression hardened, her tone laced with a warning. "Now, get the hell out of my face before I do something I may or may not regret. And remember, Halle, don't make me forget we're sisters. Once I cross that line, it's over for you." She scoffed, her gaze piercing.

Halle's heart sank as she witnessed her mother and Serena carry out their wicked deeds. They may have assumed her silence was due to her inheritance, but little did they know that she was biding her time to protect her son. She needed the money to ensure his safety, as they would stop at nothing to use him against her.

Knowing the boy's true significance, Halle pulled off a cunning move that caught Margaret and Serena off guard for the first time. As she left the room, tears streamed down her face, while Margaret applauded Serena, a proud smile on her face, relishing in putting Halle in her rightful place.

The private investigator contacted Harvey with some startling news. Harvey was about to uncover a shocking truth about his father's true identity. The investigator presented concrete evidence, including case files, photographs, and letters, revealing Anthony's involvement in an arson incident.

It appeared that Anthony had  deliberately set fire to his building years back to collect insurance money, but tragically, lives were lost in the process. Harvey initially defended his father. Harvey knew about the fire, ’’ the worker who died, that was an accident, my father lived with the guilt all his life and he made sure that his family was heavily compensated.’’

‘’ But that's where you have it all wrong Harvey, a woman was also a victim of that fire your father ensured that stayed hidden. the woman was no other than Grace mann’’

"Patrick isn't buying Price Industry to save it. In fact, if he gets his hands on it, he plans to tear it down and sell it for scraps, even though he knows the company is more valuable as a whole. Revenge is all he cares about, even if the guy he's seeking revenge on is already dead.

Harvey was left shocked, unsure of what to believe. He knew his dad had his flaws, but he never imagined him as a murderer. He questioned the PI's claim, saying, 'But what was his motive? What did he gain from killing her?'

Then, the PI revealed a letter to Harvey. It was from the day she died and exposed his father's affair with her. Shocked and dismayed, Harvey examined the evidence that proved his father had concealed this heinous crime."

'I need you to leave me alone!' he screamed. 'I have to do something to stop the sales from happening.'

Harvey, I know what you're thinking, but trust me, it's a bad idea. Don't do it," Lana, the lady from the car, spoke behind him. She was actually working with the Elite Club.

They had sent her to approach him, and now that he was in on everything, she was assigned to ensure that all his plans worked out and nothing would be traced back to the Elite Club. She was all about protecting the Elite Club's interests before Harvey, making them believe she was on their side.

'It's too early to face Crawford and Dabby's. You're not ready. They want people to believe you're dead, so stay dead for a while.'"

'I'll stop the sale, just trust me,' she declared, snatching a box before leaving. She hopped in her car and sped away.

She dialed Patrick, insisting she had something he desperately needed to see. She even sent him pictures as proof of her knowledge and leverage.

After a while Her phone rang, ‘'It's too early to play this card,'’ the voice on the other end cautioned.

‘'Sorry, but it's now or he loses the entire industry. That would ruin our plans,'’  she countered. ‘'We already lied to him about the truth. I'm heading to the private hangar. Please, don't try to stop me,’' she asserted before hanging up.

But the elite club wasn't the only ones holding back. Harvey had his own secrets to uncover, like his mother's possible survival.

Unfortunately, his private investigator couldn't reveal anything at that moment due to Lana's presence. But If there was even a glimmer of truth to his mother's existence, he had to find her.

And as for the child, he needed answers desperately. Ever since discovering the presence of a child, he had been consumed by distress.
