The sound of the gun and bulet flew across the room as Ethan and his friends tried to get out of the room. "Don't let them go!" Derek shouted at his men, but the horror going on inside the room was terrifying. Marcus and Ethan managed to clear a path as they ran out of the door. Marcus closed the door behind them, and the loud noise of screams and horror filled the room. Sometimes, the noise died down, and Marcus quickly went to have the rest of the prisoners relaesed.
They gathered around and killed the rest of the soldiers. "I would burn that if I were you." A man said this, looking at Ethan. "Burn the corpse? Why?" Ethan asked, with his head carefully bandaged by Rachel. "Just do as he says." A woman replied The corpses were immediately torched. The zombies were all killed and burned. Ethan sat down and looked at Rachel. "I am sorry it took me a long time to finally come get you. I am sorry." He said it gently. Rachel said nothing but simply hugged him. Ethan looked up, and another message appeared right in front of him. [SYSTEM MESSAGE]: CONGRATULATIONS ON THE SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF YOUR TASK. YOUR WEAPON WOULD BE UPGRADED IN A BIT. ] [IMPORTANT NOTICE: A NEARBY HOSPITAL IS BEING ARRANGED SPECIFICALLY FOR YOU.] YOUR BLOOD IS THE KEY TO SOLVING AND STOPPING THE DEADLY VIRUS. [Get to the hospital, and you might have the chance to change the fate of the world.] Ethan looked at the message and knew they could not stay here. "We need to go." He looked at Marcus. "Don't tell me this is another message from the system. Why do we need to go when we just take over the place? We could get to farming and live our lives. We can appoint a few men who will guard and mount the wall. Isn't this what you wanted?" Marcus looked at Ethan. "We need to stop this. Whatever it is that happens needs to be stopped. We can't go on living like this." Ethan said, looking at Sandra and Rachel. "I think Marcus is right, Ethan. We need to keep this place together and help other people. We can keep going from one place to another." Sandra looked at him. "WWhag about your daughter? Did you forget the promise you made to her already? You said you were going to find her. Don't tell me you are going back on your words." Ethan looked at her, and everyone felt tensed. "OOkay what is it this time?" Marcus looked at him, trying to believe the system was real. "We need to locate a hospital not too far from here. The answer we are looking for is there. We can learn how the virus spreads and how we can finally put an end to it. Isn't that what we all wanted? Going back to our normal lives Ethan buttresses his point. "Do you think that is possible? Look around you, brother, and tell me what you see." Rachel looked at Ethan. "LListen, I am not asking you to come along with me, but I need to do this. What happens when this place is overrun by zombies or other thugs? Can you hold them off with the little people you are having? Look around you; they are all civilians and don't know how to handle weapons." Ethan looked at their faces. 'They will learn. They have too."Marcus replied " Okay. I will have the hospital checked out while you can train and take over here. I will be back before you know it." Ethan replied, walking into the house to have some rest. The people gathered the following day to bid Ethan goodbye and thanked him for saving their lives. "I am coming with you." Sandra said, looking at Ethan. ' No, you are going to stay back and help them here. Marcus is going to be a good leader, but he needs someone who will assist him. He can't do it alone." Ethan said it softly. He looked over her shoulder and saw Rachel looking at him. "Don't worry, she will come around." Marcus placed his hands gently on Ethan's shoulders. She is just angry that you are leaving her again. "Take care of her. I will be back." Ethan looked at Marcus, and both friends hugged each other. He gave him a walkie-talkie they would use to communicate with each other. Ethan was walking towards the gate when one of the teenagers that had been taken hostage walked to his front. "I would like to accompany you, sir," he said, standing at attention. Ethan looked at him and smiled. 'Have you been severed?" "I was in my service when the apocalypse broke out. Let me accompany you." Ethan looked over his shoulder and saw the arrow the system had given him. "Can you use that?" he asked, staring at him. "It doesn't have an arrow." He replied, still standing at attention. "What is your name?" Ethan asked as he kept walking. "I am John, sir. My friend calls me Johnny." "Alright, Johnny. I don't need you slowing me down, and I don't need you whining to me like a baby. Are we clear on that?" Ethan looked at him. They heard the sound of a roaring engine, and a girl was parked in front of them. She swung open the door and looked at Ethan. "Are you going to get in, or are you just going to stand there and watch? Do you plan on trekking to wherever it is you are going?" Ethan looked at John and back at the girl. They were almost the same age. "Get in," Ethan ordered Johnny, who had been waiting for whatever he was going to say. "So why did you decide to risk your life? You would have been safe back there." Ethan looked at the girl, who had a black pad on. "My name is Clara, by the way, and I don't like sitting down doing nothing. Where are we going too?" Clara asked, stopping the engine. The sound of the zombies nearby was audible. 'We are going to this hospital." Ethan showed her on the map. "I know where that is." Clara said with a smirk on her face as she ignited and zoomed off. They got to the front of the hospital, and it was swarming with zombie hordes. 'How do we get through?" John asked "They are drawn to sounds. I will try to move them with the sound while you get in. Ethan and John got down from the car while Clara used the sounding horn from her car to make the zombie come after her. "HHow do we get in? The door needs a password.' Johnny looked at Ethan. He looked around and saw a hole with a finger print. Ethan. placed his finger over the flat surface, and a needle pinched him, absorbing his blood. The door opened, and they walked in. Inside the hospital, Ethan and Johnny moved cautiously through the dimly lit hallways, their footsteps echoing softly. The eerie silence was occasionally broken by the distant moans of zombies outside. As they progressed, Ethan couldn't help but feel a sense of urgency, knowing that time was of the essence. "Stick close and keep your eyes open," Ethan whispered to Johnny. They reached a large metal door labelled "RESEARCH AB." Ethan approached the door, noticing another biometric scanner. He pressed his finger against it, and after a brief pause, the door slid open with a soft hiss. Inside, the lab was filled with high-tech equipment, and in the centre of the room was a large containment unit. Ethan approached the containment unit and saw a series of vials filled with a glowing blue liquid. "This must be it," he muttered, reaching for one of the vials. "WWe don't even know what that is." Johnny said, looking at Ethan, that he had carefully placed the vials in his bags. "We are going to find out." He was about to leave when he saw a small note on the table. Ethan turned back and walked towards it. "What is that?" Johnny asked who was in a hurry to leave. ' There is a note, and I have to read it." Ethan picked up the note and looked at it. He saw it was written in blood and wondered why they must have written the words with their blood. "Can you read these words?" Ethan showed Johnny He looked at the words and looked back at his face. "What does it mean?" Ethan asked with a worried look in his eyes. "No hay salvación," Johnny said, looking at Ethan. "It means there is no salvation." Ethan sat down and wondered why the doctors would send that message when they were supposed to try and stop the spread of the virus. He looked at the computer before him, and Ethan's eyes opened, frightened. "Did they just get back up? Aren't they supposed to be dead?" Johnny asked, looking scared. Ethan picked up his walkie-talkie and shouted in it, calling Marcus. "They are not dead! Get out of there." but there was no service.Ethan shouted at the walkie-talkie he was holding. "Is anybody there? Marcus! Sandra! Can you hear me?" he shouted, hitting the table in frustration. "What the hell is going on?" Johnny looked at Ethan's face and didn't understand what was going on. "The zombies—did we burn them?" He asked, taking a part of the vile and strapping his back to his bag. "I don't think we did. We had them buried." Johnny replied "Then we are fucked." Ethan said this under his breath as he walked towards the exit. Johnny ran to his front and immediately blocked his path. "Are you trying to get us killed? I think you need to tell us anything if there is something wrong." He said, looking at but being thrown off by Ethan's reaction. Back in his youth, Ethan had always gone on solo operations. He was better, faster, and could concentrate when he was alone. He doesn't need the help of any teammate, and he has always done fine on his own. He drew Johnny towards him and looked into his eyes. "Did I ask you t
Ethan walked up to the body parts right in front of him and almost hauled at the site of what he saw. "Can you think of anyone who would do this?" he asked, looking at Clara and back at Johnny. "I wish I knew, but right now, we are just as clueless as you are." Johnny replied "My family." Clara said it with a scared face as she ran towards her home. "Go; we don't know who else might be around." Ethan looked at Johnny, asking him to follow Clara. Johnny ran after Clara, who had her gun pointed in all directions as she walked. "What do you think happened?" Johnny's voice was in hush whispers as he moved closer to her. "I don't know. What did he tell you?" Clara lowered her gun a little, looking at Johnny, who was keeping his eyes open. "He didn't say much. I think he found out something at the hospital and radioed immediately, but no one was answering." Johnny replied The door creaked open, and they both fired a round at the door. Ethan heard the sound of a gunshot and immediately
Ethan looked back behind him and saw the figure moving and getting closer. He immediately drew out his bow as the two men looked at him. He shot an invisible arrow to his disbelief, and it hit the zombie. The creature snarled on the floor as the men watched. "I am here to look for my sister and friend too. Who the hell are you guys?" Ethan asked, trying to come back to his senses. "I am here to find my wife." The man said it again, but with a soft voice this time around. "I am sure they must have been taken by someone or something," Ethan replied. The men looked at themselves, releasing Clara and Johnny. "What are you not telling us? If you know something, then you need to spill it. We don't know what is going on at the moment. One minute later, we were out to get some food supply as we could get back to this." The other men said it again."The zombies are now getting wise, I think." Ethan paused as he looked at the zombie he shot. He got back up to his feet. "That is impossible." Et
Johnny and Fred kept walking, trying to look for a clue that would tell them where their families had been taken too. They had seen that Derek and the rest of the soldiers had dug their way out of the ground. "What exactly are we looking for?" Johnny looked at Fred. "We need to find anything that would tell us what really happened here." Fred replied "Do you think the zombie did this?" Johnny said, looking a little bit taken back. "I don't know, kid." Fred scratched his head, trying to think of something. They were about to walk back to meet Ethan and Clara when they heard a squeak at the door. "Sh..shh...hh." Fred looked at Johny. Both of them immediately went under the table and stayed quiet. The loud snarl of the zombie could be heard as it tried to find its way out of the room. Suddenly, it made a snarl, and she walked out of the room. "We need to follow it." Fred said, looking at Johnny. "What do you mean, follow it? Are you seriously thinking about killing yourself?" Johnny
Ethan looked towards the door and back at Clara and Johnny, who were scared out of their wits. "You both need to be ready for anything that comes through that door." He said, rolling up his long sleeve. Johnny brought out the pistol in his pocket and checked to see how many rounds he was having. "Do you have anything to defend yourself with?" Ethan looked back to see Clara, who was still shaken by everything that was happening. The loud bang continued, but Ethan wasn't fazed. He was a soldier, and he had seen the worst. He walked to Clara and shook her violently. "If what comes through that door meets you cowering like this, you are dead. Do you want to see your sister again?" He asked, staring at her blue face. Clara nodded, and her hands were a little slippery from the sweat her palms were secreting. "Okay, good. Then you need to fight. That is the only way we are going to get out of here alive. Am I clear on that?" He shouted at Johnny. "And you, make that count." He pointed at
"We can't just leave him and run." Clara said she was not wanting to get into the van. "We are going to come back for him. You heard him when he asked us to go!" Johnny shouted at her and pushed her into the van. The van drove off as the snarl of the zombies got louder. Ethan looked down and saw they had left. He carefully stood up and looked at Darren. "I am going to kill you again, and this time you are going to stay dead." He said it with anger. "I will like to see you try." Darren said with a snarl. The two engaged in a fight, Ethan tried with all his might trying to fight for his life but Darren was stronger, faster and more deadly than Ethan was. He was no longer the weak soldier Ethan knew him to be As they fought, Ethan remembered that the system had told him his blood was the key to stopping the virus, but he doesn't know how. The sky lit up with a flare all of a sudden, making the zombies all gaze up into the sky. Ethan quickly used that opportunity to grip Darren. He trie
Johnny looked at Clara and back at Ben. "I think he is bitten." He finally said that, looking at Ethan. "I will be fine. Just get me inside." Ethan said, slowly feeling his whole body on fire. Ben looked at Johnny and said, "WWhy the fuck are you staring at me, dude?""You heard the man; he just said we should get him inside the mall." Johnny said again, repeating what Ethan said. Clara stood watch as she looked towards the main street. Everywhere looks deserted. Ethan pushed the door open, and the rays of the sunlight burned his retina. "Fuck you both!" he muttered as he managed to walk inside. Clara followed behind, making sure the door was carefully locked. "Grab whatever you will need. We leave in five." Ethan commanded "What do you mean we leave in five? I don't think you are in any position to tell us what to do. It is only a matter of time before we put a bullet in your skull." Ben said it nonchalantly. Johnny didn't say anything; he immediately grabbed a trolley and moved
Clara peered and saw who it was. She froze, and her hands began to tremble. "Is that the same guy? The one you ran away from?" Ben asked, looking scared too. "Shh, keep your voice down. If we are caught, then we are definitely going to die." Johnny said, looking scared. Darren's feet echoed as he snarled and walked, trying to find out where they really were. "We need to leave here." Ben managed to say it while keeping his voice low. "What about Ethan? We can't just leave him here and go by ourselves." What about him? Don't you get it yet? He is now a zombie. He is one of those things and not one of us anymore. Do you honestly think he wouldn't attack us if he became a zombie?" Ben said he was frustrated. Johnny looked right behind him and saw Darren looking at them with blood dripping down from his mouth, like he just had a fresh kill. Johnny froze for a few minutes as he locked eyes with the flesh-eating monster. He couldn't say anything but stare at Darren. Clara noticed he was
