CHAPTER 269

Avery slowly turned around to face Nathan. She lowered her head. Nathan closed the gap between them. He then tilted her jaw with two fingers, causing her to look him straight in the face.

“Come with me!” Nathan breathed on Avery’s face.

He didn't wait for her response. Nathan grabbed her by the hand and began leading her into the house.

Avery followed Nathan to the bedroom. She settled by the edge of his bed. Nathan then stepped out to the living room and returned a few moments later with a glass of water. He passed it to Avery.

“Thank you!” she mumbled and took the glass without looking up at Nathan.

Nathan sat right next to her on the bed. He didn't ask her what was placing her on the edge. It was evident that it was related to the whole matchmaking thing with Derrick.

Avery took a sip from the glass and placed it on the table.

Nathan reached for her hand and then locked hands with her.

“I wish I can forget every damn thing in the world right now.” She professed.
